Description
Dry heat sterilization indicator, white with green stripes, 19mmx50m, the material being: impregnated paper strip, with ink indicator. Indicator for checking the sterilization in the nursery, in the form of a roll of tape. Sterilization is highlighted by the color change on the indicator from green to brown, after exposure to dry heat sterilization.
Sterilization is carried out at 160°C after 40 min. The tapes are versatile and adhere to any type of packaging: paper, plastic, metal, clothes and non-woven material. After sterilization, the tape can be easily removed, without leaving any adhesive on the surface it was applied to.
It is suitable to be used as an indicator strip for closed packages that are subjected to dry heat sterilization. The indicator strips serve to seal the packages and ensure evidence of the fact that the packages have been subjected to the sterilization process.
The V-type dry heat sterilizer (pupinel) sterilization indicator, sold per roll, is the dedicated consumable for dry heat sterilization process control in tattoo and piercing studios. Unlike the autoclave indicator, this indicator is specifically formulated to respond to dry heat sterilizer parameters: high temperatures (170-180°C) and extended exposure durations. The indicator tape is applied to metal instrument packages before dry heat sterilizer insertion and visibly changes color after correct dry heat exposure, confirming that the sterilization process has been completed. Dry heat sterilizers are frequently used in tattoo and piercing studios for sterilizing metal instruments that withstand high temperatures, such as forceps, clamps, and other stainless steel instruments. The roll format provides a large number of uses, ensuring long-lasting stock at an advantageous price. The adhesive tape applies easily to various packaging types and provides additional sealing. Using sterilization indicators for every cycle is mandatory according to sanitary protocols and demonstrates the studio's commitment to client safety. The dry heat sterilizer indicator is formulated with chemical substances that react to the extremely high temperatures characteristic of dry heat sterilization (170-180 degrees C over extended durations). This sterilization type is specific to metal instruments that cannot be autoclaved or that benefit from dry heat sterilization. The indicator tape applies simply to instrument packages and provides instant visual confirmation after cycle completion. Consistent indicator use for every sterilization cycle is documented and can be presented to health authorities as proof of hygiene protocol compliance. It is a low-cost consumable providing an essential level of safety.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between pupinel and autoclave indicators?
The pupinel indicator is formulated to respond to dry heat (170-180°C), while the autoclave indicator responds to steam under pressure (121-134°C). The two types are not interchangeable - use the correct indicator for each equipment.
What instruments are sterilized in a dry heat sterilizer?
Metal instruments that withstand very high temperatures are sterilized in dry heat: stainless steel forceps, clamps, tweezers, blades, and other metal instruments. Do not insert plastics, rubber, or materials that can melt.
How is the indicator tape applied?
Cut a piece of tape and stick it on the instrument package before insertion into the dry heat sterilizer. The tape adheres through its own adhesive. After the cycle, verify the color change before using the instruments.
Does the indicator work for autoclaves too?
No, the pupinel indicator is exclusively formulated for dry heat and will not react correctly to steam pressure in autoclaves. Using the wrong indicator can generate false results. Use the dedicated indicator for each equipment type.
What temperature is needed for color change?
The indicator changes color at the specific dry heat sterilization temperature, generally 170-180°C. The color change confirms that the package was exposed to the correct temperature for the duration necessary for sterilization.
Is indicator use mandatory for every cycle?
Yes, sterilization indicator use for every dry heat cycle is mandatory according to sanitary regulations. This ensures documentation and verification of each sterilized instrument batch.
How long does the roll last?
Duration depends on sterilization frequency. With 10-15cm usage per package, a standard roll provides hundreds of uses. For a studio with daily sterilizations, the roll lasts several months.
How is the indicator stored?
Store the roll in a dry place at room temperature, away from direct light and heat sources. Improper storage can alter the chemical substance and generate inaccurate color change results.
What if the indicator doesn't change color?
If the indicator doesn't change color, the dry heat sterilizer may not have reached correct parameters. Do not use those instruments. Check the sterilizer, temperature settings and duration, and repeat the cycle. Contact service if the problem persists.
Can I use the same indicator for both autoclave and pupinel?
No, each sterilization type requires its own dedicated indicator. The pupinel indicator responds to dry heat, and the autoclave indicator to steam pressure. Using the wrong indicator will not provide correct sterilization information.
