Description
It is an enzymatic detergent. It is used before Gigasept. Gigazyme breaks down dirt and organic matter, everything that is on the instruments.
Characteristics:
Enzymatic detergent for endoscopes and other surgical instruments.
- excellent cleaning power
- does not foam
- does not leave residues
- concentrated - reduced storage space
- combination of enzymes and surfactants to increase cleaning performance
- pleasant fragrance
- economic use
- CE mark
- suitable for automatic, manual cleaning of endoscopes and for ultrasound baths.
The type of preparation
Gigazyme is a very effective cleaning agent, based on a combination of enzymes and nonionic surfactants. The formula was specifically intended for manual and automatic cleaning of endoscopes. Gigazyme is also usable for surgical/medical instruments and is ideal for use in ultrasound baths.
To ensure optimal cleaning, the Gigazyme product will become milky at temperatures above 32°C. This process is reversible by adding cold water, thus returning the solution to the optimal temperature for cleaning.
Its ingredients ensure excellent compatibility with materials. The working solution does not produce foam and does not leave residues on devices or instruments.

The influence of temperature in the cleaning of instruments contaminated with blood
When cleaning instruments contaminated with blood, if the solution used is too hot, blood coagulation may occur. Thus, the cleaning operation is less efficient. As part of a study, an investigation was carried out to find out which is the temperature at which cleaning is optimal. Since only the effect of temperature was to be investigated, the cleaning test was carried out only with water.
The results show that at room temperature and up to 30°C, blood removal is almost complete. At 35°C, however, residues can be clearly observed. As the temperature increases, the residues are more numerous.
Instructions for use
Gigazyme is a concentrate that can be diluted to any desired concentration. For manual cleaning in disinfection valves, make sure that the instruments are completely covered by the solution. Cavity bodies will be immersed in such a way that the air from the lumen comes out completely. After cleaning, the objects will be removed from the solution and for the subsequent treatment they will be rinsed and dried carefully.
Dilute Gigazyrne with water (e.g. 10 ml Gigazyme to 990 ml water = 1%, 5 ml Gigazyme to 995 ml water = 0.5%).
Depending on the degree of dirt, in most cases a dilution between 0.5%-1% is sufficient. In the case of excessive dirt, the concentration can be increased up to 10%.
Labeling according to the directives for dangerous products (applicable to the concentrate)
R52/53: Harmful to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.
Environmental information
Gigazyme is a concentrate with a technically optimized formula, thus resulting in a favorable proportion of packaging, saving energy in the case of transport and less negative effects on the environment in the case of disposing of the packaging.
Packaging information
Gigazyme is sold in 2 liter bottles. The packaging is made of polyethylene (HDPE) and labeled accordingly. The packaging provided by Schulke & Mayr does not contain PVC, being thus completely recyclable.
Biodegradability
As such, Gigazyme is completely biodegradable (OECD test method 301 D).

Instrument Disinfectant Gigazyme 2L Schulke is a professional disinfection solution for reusable instruments, produced by Schulke, a global leader in medical hygiene solutions. This solution is an enzymatic cleaning and pre-disinfection solution for instruments, designed for the first stage of the reprocessing process. Active enzymes break down organic residues, blood, and tissue from instruments. In tattoo studios, Gigasept Gigazyme is used for disinfecting and cleaning grips, tubes, and other reusable components of tattoo machines. The 2-liter container allows preparation of the disinfection baths needed for the instrument immersion process. The concentrated formula is diluted according to the manufacturer's instructions to obtain the working solution at optimal concentration. The immersion disinfection process ensures complete contact of the solution with all instrument surfaces, including hard-to-reach areas. Schulke recommends use within a complete reprocessing protocol that includes pre-cleaning, disinfection, rinsing, and sterilization. Gigasept Gigazyme is registered as a biocidal product and complies with European standards for medical instrument disinfection. Correct use of this product is essential for preventing infection transmission in the tattoo studio and for compliance with sanitary regulations. Schulke guarantees the efficacy of each batch through rigorous quality controls in Germany. Available on tatuat.ro for studios seeking comprehensive enzymatic pre-cleaning solutions for their instruments.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the Gigasept Gigazyme working solution prepared?
Gigasept Gigazyme is a concentrate that is diluted with water according to the label instructions. Concentration and immersion time vary depending on the desired disinfection level. Always use clean water and a clean container to prepare the working solution.
How long should instruments be kept in solution?
Immersion time varies depending on the working solution concentration and required disinfection level. Consult the product label instructions for exact times. Generally, complete disinfection requires between 15 and 60 minutes of immersion, depending on the formulation.
What studio instruments can be disinfected with Gigasept?
Gigasept can be used for disinfecting metal grips, stainless steel tubes, forceps, and other reusable instruments in the studio. Check material compatibility before immersion. Do not use on instruments with electronic or liquid-sensitive components.
Should instruments be rinsed after disinfection?
Yes, after disinfection with Gigasept, instruments must be thoroughly rinsed with clean water to completely remove disinfectant residues. Rinsing is a mandatory step in the reprocessing protocol. After rinsing, instruments must be dried and stored under sterile conditions.
How long does the prepared working solution last?
The prepared working solution can be used over several days as long as it is not visibly contaminated or discolored. Schulke recommends replacing the solution according to label directions. Monitor the solution's appearance and replace it immediately if you notice changes.
Is Gigasept Gigazyme safe for stainless steel instruments?
Yes, Gigasept Gigazyme is compatible with stainless steel and other corrosion-resistant metals frequently used in medical and tattoo instruments. The formula is designed not to cause corrosion or surface damage under normal use conditions.
Does Gigasept disinfection replace sterilization?
No, chemical disinfection with Gigasept does not replace sterilization. Disinfection is an intermediate step in the reprocessing protocol. Instruments that penetrate the skin must be sterilized in autoclaves after disinfection and rinsing. Gigasept provides the necessary disinfection before sterilization.
How is the Gigasept concentrate stored?
Gigasept concentrate is stored at room temperature, in the tightly closed original container, away from direct light and extreme temperatures. Respect the expiration date on the packaging. Handle carefully, avoiding contact with skin and eyes. Wear protective gloves during preparation.
What protective equipment is needed during use?
When preparing the working solution and handling the concentrate, wear chemical protective gloves, safety goggles, and ensure adequate ventilation. When handling the diluted working solution, protective gloves are sufficient. Avoid inhaling concentrate vapors.
Can I use the same Gigasept for multiple disinfection cycles?
Yes, the working solution can be reused for multiple disinfection cycles as long as it remains clean and at the correct concentration. Monitor the solution's appearance and replace it according to manufacturer recommendations or immediately when it becomes visibly contaminated or discolored.
