Guide & full description
Complete guide: Xtreme Ink Blue Lagoon 30ml
This is a professional tattoo ink in a 30 ml bottle, with a tropical blue shade with turquoise undertones. It is aimed at artists who work with color and need a bright blue for oceanic scenes, tropical themes, aquatic elements, gemstone effects, or color accents in a composition. It comes ready to use, without mixing or dilution, and the formula is vegan, cruelty-free, and compliant with REACH regulations. The 30 ml format is suitable for those who use the shade consistently, not just occasionally for a small accent.
How to use
- Check the bottle before the session: intact cap, legible label, and visible batch number. Note the product name and batch in the client's file — it's standard traceability practice for any tattoo ink.
- Prepare your workstation: new gloves, protective barriers on the machine, clip cord, bottles, and surfaces you touch during work. The ink bottle should only be handled with clean hands or through a barrier.
- Shake the bottle well before each pour. Pigments naturally settle over time, and proper homogenization gives you the same shade from start to finish of the session.
- Pour the ink into disposable cups (caps), only the estimated amount for the work. Never work directly from the bottle and never insert needles or tools into it.
- Do not dilute: the product is formulated to be used as is from the bottle. If you want an intermediate shade, mix it with other inks from the same Xtreme range and note the ratio so you can reproduce the color for touch-ups.
- Set up your machine as usual — the ink is compatible with coil, rotary, and pen machines, so it does not require a special setup. Adjust speed, voltage, and depth according to your usual configuration and the needle type used.
- Work on clean, well-stretched skin in controlled passes. Since saturation on the first pass is good, avoid going over the same area more than necessary — additional trauma does not add color, only affects healing.
- Periodically wipe off excess and check saturation on dry skin, not on skin covered with ink and liquid. At the end, discard the cups along with the leftover ink (do not return it to the bottle), close the cap tightly, disinfect the outside of the bottle, and store it.
Tips from us
- Do a shade test on synthetic skin or a small area before a large piece — the blue with turquoise undertone reads differently depending on the client's skin tone and the studio lighting.
- On darker skin tones, light blues need contrast to stand out: anchor them with black or darker shades around, otherwise the effect is lost after healing.
- Pour a little and add more as needed. Leftover ink in the cup must be discarded at the end of the session, so pouring 'with reserve' just means wasted product.
- If you are building a mixing palette (e.g., towards sea green or deep blue), write down your recipes in a notebook or phone. Without notes, today's perfect shade is impossible to replicate three weeks later for a touch-up.
- Keep the bottle away from the area where you handle needles and used materials. Even if you work clean, a 30 ml bottle accompanies you for many sessions — it must remain uncontaminated throughout its life.
- Discuss with the client before the appointment how the color looks fresh vs. how it will look after healing: any ink naturally softens slightly, and setting correct expectations avoids post-work discussions.
Frequently asked questions
Does it need to be diluted or mixed before use?▾
No. The product is formulated to be used directly from the bottle, without dilution or addition of other liquids. The only preparation needed is shaking the bottle before pouring into the cup, so that the pigments are evenly dispersed. Additional dilution offers no advantage and can unpredictably change the color's behavior in the skin.
Does it work on any tattoo machine or do I need a specific setup?▾
It is compatible with all types of machines: coil, rotary, and pen. It does not require a special configuration — use the settings you normally work with for color packing and adapt, as always, depending on the needle type, body area, and client's skin. If you are switching from another ink range, do a few test passes on synthetic skin to calibrate your hand to how it flows.
How should I store it properly and how long does it last after opening?▾
Keep it at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat sources, with the cap tightly closed after each use. The golden rule for shelf life is to never contaminate the bottle: do not insert needles or tools into it, do not pour back ink from the cup, and only touch it with clean hands or through a barrier. For the exact expiration date, including after opening, follow what the manufacturer states on the label and packaging — there you will find the official data for your batch.
Can it be mixed with other colors to create my own shades?▾
Yes, it mixes very well with other inks from the Xtreme range, which are designed to be compatible with each other and produce stable mixes. Essentially, you can shift the shade towards sea green, a deeper blue, or lighten it for highlights. Mix in a clean cup, not in the bottle, and note the ratio used so you can reproduce the exact same color for touch-ups or multi-session work.
What type of work is this shade best suited for?▾
It is designed for oceanic scenes and tropical themes, aquatic elements, gemstone effects, and fresh color accents in a larger composition. It also performs well where you need a bright blue that breathes, not a dark, heavy one. If you mainly work with blackwork or warm-toned realism, you will likely use it selectively — then consider whether the 30 ml format is justified for occasional use.
Is it vegan and compliant with European regulations?▾
Yes. The formula is vegan and produced cruelty-free, with no animal-derived ingredients, and the composition complies with REACH regulations regarding substances allowed in tattoo inks in the European Union. For the specific documentation for your batch (technical data sheets, declarations of conformity), request it with your order — it is useful to have it on file if you work in a licensed studio and undergo inspections.
