Guide & full description

Complete guide: KWADRON INK UNISHADER # 1 120ML

This is the shading ink with the most delicate intensity from Kwadron's UniShader series: shade #1, in a 120 ml bottle. It is designed for artists who work with ultra-light shadows, fine tonal transitions and highlights, especially in realism, where the first shading layers determine the softness of the entire piece. The series is numbered from 1 to 4 by intensity levels, so you can build shadows progressively without mixing inks yourself.

How to use

Shake the bottle well before each session so that the pigment is homogeneous throughout the poured amount.
Pour only the necessary amount into disposable ink caps — never work directly from the bottle.
Close the bottle immediately after pouring and put it aside, away from the contaminated work area.
Use shade #1 for the initial shadow layers: deposit it in light passes, letting the tone build up gradually.
Work transitions from light to dark — #1 for the brightest areas and highlights, then move to the higher shades in the series (#2–#4) where you need stronger contrast.
Assess saturation as you work: being the most subtle tone in the series, the effect is achieved through layered passes, not a single heavy pass.
At the end of the session, discard the ink caps along with all remaining ink in them — never pour unused ink back into the bottle.

Tips from us

Test the behavior of the shade on practice skin before your first real tattoo to calibrate the number of passes for the desired tone.
Do not oversaturate the skin by trying to 'force' a darker tone from #1 — if you need more intensity, move to a higher shade from the series.
Label ink caps when using multiple UniShader shades in the same session — close tones are easily confused on the work table.
Keep in mind that very light shadows look complete only after healing; judge the final result after the skin has healed, not just immediately after the session.
Store the bottle tightly closed, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, and note the date of first opening on the label.
The 120 ml bottle is advantageous for high-volume work — all the more important to pour hygienically each time, so as not to compromise the rest of the contents.

Warning: Tattoo inks are intended exclusively for professional use under strict hygiene conditions: disposable gloves, new ink caps for each client, surfaces protected with barriers, and no reuse of poured ink. Do not use the product if the bottle seal or cap appears compromised upon receipt, and do not dilute the ink with tap water — if you need dilution, use only sterile solutions intended for tattooing. Do not tattoo on irritated, injured or active skin conditions, and the client should be directed to a doctor for any unusual reaction after the procedure.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of works is shade #1 suitable for?▾

It is the most subtle shade in the UniShader series, so it is designed for delicate tonal transitions, ultra-light shadows, highlights, and the first shadow layers — typical situations in realism where gradient softness matters more than raw contrast.

What is the difference compared to shades #2, #3 and #4 in the series?▾

The entire UniShader series is built on intensity levels numbered from 1 to 4: #1 is the lightest, and higher numbers offer progressively more intense shadows. The idea of the system is to work directly with the shade appropriate for each shading stage, without having to prepare your own dilutions.

Do I need to dilute this ink before use?▾

No — the series is designed precisely to eliminate manual mixing: each number corresponds to a ready-to-use intensity level. If you still want an intermediate variation, use exclusively sterile solutions intended for tattoo ink dilution, never regular water, and prepare the mixture only in disposable ink caps.

How do I work hygienically with the ink and how do I maintain it after opening?▾

Shake the bottle before use, pour into disposable ink caps without touching the bottle neck to anything contaminated, close it immediately, and discard all poured and unused ink at the end. Store it tightly closed, at room temperature and away from sunlight, and check the expiration date printed by the manufacturer on the packaging.

Is it suitable for a beginner artist?▾

Yes, with the mandatory hygiene preparation for any professional ink. The numbered system of the series greatly simplifies work at the beginning, because you don't have to guess dilution ratios, and the very subtle nature of shade #1 allows you to build shadows gradually and controlled.

How long does a 120 ml bottle last?▾

It depends entirely on your workload and the size of the works, so there is no universal number — 120 ml is however a generous format, aimed at artists who frequently use the same shading shade. Pour small portions into ink caps and refill as needed: this way you reduce waste and keep the rest of the bottle uncontaminated.
