Aluminum grip 20mm

Complete guide: Aluminum grip 20mm

This is a thin 20 mm grip (handle) made of anodized aluminum in a blue finish, used to hold and maneuver the tattoo machine. The small diameter makes it especially suitable for precision work — fine-line, dotwork, geometric, single needle — and for artists with smaller hands who prefer a thin grip close to that of a pen. Being aluminum, it is lightweight and can be sterilized in an autoclave for reuse.

How to use

1. First check compatibility: the 20 mm grip fits traditional machines and pen-style models that accept this diameter. Not all mounting systems accept it.
2. Sterilize the grip in an autoclave (at 134°C) before first use and between each client.
3. Mount the handle tube and secure it using the screws included in the package.
4. Insert the tip/cartridge with the appropriate needle configuration (these are chosen and purchased separately, depending on your work).
5. Adjust the needle projection and tighten well so that the assembly has no play during work.
6. Hold the grip like a pen, using the thin diameter for fine finger control.
7. After the session, disassemble the grip, clean it immediately of residues, and sterilize it again before the next use.

Tips from us

• Use 20 mm especially for outline and detail; for long shading sessions, a thicker grip (25 mm+) is usually more comfortable for your fingers.
• Take advantage of the color as an organizational system in the studio — many artists associate a grip color with a type of configuration (e.g., one color for lining, another for shading).
• Clean the grip immediately after use, before residues dry — it is much easier to sanitize.
• Before ordering needles/tips, check which configuration you use, because the grip is sold separately from these.
• Periodically check that the fixing screws are tight, so the assembly remains stable during work.
