Guide & full description

Complete guide: Scorpion Disposable grip 25mm

The 25 mm grip for InkMachines Scorpion is a sterile, individually packaged grip designed for single use: you use it on one client, then dispose of it. It attaches to the Scorpion machine via a bayonet connection and comes with the adapter included, being compatible with both Neo cartridges and standard cartridges. It is the right choice for artists who want maximum hygiene without the hassle of autoclaving — especially at conventions, guest spots, or mobile sessions where you don't always have an autoclave on hand.

How to use

  1. Before use, check that the sterile packaging is intact and sealed; if the blister is opened or damaged, do not use it.
  2. With clean gloves, open the packaging and remove the grip along with the included adapter.
  3. Attach the grip to the Scorpion machine via the bayonet connection (a short twist to lock), not by screwing onto a thread.
  4. Insert the cartridge — the grip accepts both Neo cartridges and standard cartridges; ensure it is properly secured with no play.
  5. Adjust the needle depth from the top of the machine; the adjustment can be done on the fly, and the depth remains set even if you remove and reattach the grip.
  6. Check the alignment and needle stroke before starting work on the skin.
  7. After the session, remove the cartridge and dispose of the used grip — it is single-use and not to be resterilized.

Tips from us

  • Prepare several grips before a busy day so you have one sealed for each client.
  • Open the packaging in front of the client — this visibly confirms the grip is new and sterile.
  • Combine the disposable grip with protective barriers (bags) on the machine and cable for a fully hygienic workflow.
  • Since the needle depth is preserved when reattaching, you can quickly disassemble to change the cartridge without losing the adjustment.
  • Keep both Neo and standard cartridges on hand — the grip accepts both; Neo cartridges fit at 90 degrees for a smoother fit.
Warning: Single-use product: used for one client only, then disposed of — do not wash, resterilize, or reuse. After contact with skin, blood, or biological fluids, the grip becomes medical waste and must be discarded in the appropriate biohazard/sharps container according to local sanitary regulations, never in household trash. Use only with the sterile packaging intact; if the blister is opened or damaged, discard it.

Frequently asked questions

Which machine is this grip for?

On the InkMachines Scorpion machine. It attaches via a 30-degree bayonet connection, not a multi-turn thread, which ensures a better fit and keeps the battery and needle aligned. The required adapter is included in the packaging.

Which cartridges is it compatible with?

It fits both Neo cartridges and standard cartridges. Neo cartridges provide a 90-degree fit, which is smoother and more secure on the grip than the 30-degree connection of standard cartridges.

Can I sterilize and reuse it?

No. It is a disposable grip, individually packaged and sterile for single use. After one client, it is disposed of as medical waste. Eliminating the resterilization step gives it a hygiene advantage: each client receives a guaranteed sterile grip straight from the packaging.

Do I need to adjust the needle depth every time I change the grip?

Not necessarily. Depth adjustment is done from the top of the machine, and the needle depth is preserved when you remove and reattach the grip. This allows you to change the cartridge or grip without losing the setting.

Why would I choose a disposable grip over an autoclavable one?

Because it completely eliminates the risk of cross-contamination from imperfect sterilization and gives you a guaranteed sterile grip for each client, with the packaging opened in front of them. It is especially useful at conventions, guest spots, and mobile sessions where you don't have an autoclave available.

Where is it made and how much does it weigh?

It is manufactured in Sweden and, according to the manufacturer's description, weighs approximately 12 g. It has a diameter of 25 mm and a comfortable rubber body for a stable grip.
