Guide & full description

Complete guide: Mixer Ink Blue

A compact ABS tool, in blue, designed to homogenize tattoo ink before use. Pigments have a natural tendency to separate and settle in the container, and this mixer makes mixing faster and more thorough than manual shaking, for a uniform color in every capsule. At approximately 13 x 4.5 x 1.5 cm and 45 g, it fits in any kit and is suitable for both professional artists and personal use. The package also includes 5 mixer refills.

How to use

  1. Wash your hands and put on disposable gloves before touching the ink containers.
  2. Attach a clean refill to the mixer.
  3. Open the ink container and insert only the refill into the pigment — the mixer body stays out of the liquid.
  4. Mix until the ink has a uniform color and consistency, with no visible deposits on the bottom of the container.
  5. Remove the refill, close the container tightly, and pour the ink into ink caps for the session.
  6. Clean or replace the refill after use and wipe the mixer body with a surface disinfectant.
  7. Store the mixer clean and dry, separate from the contaminated work area.

Tips from us

  • Mix the ink before each session, not just with new bottles — pigment separates over time even in already-opened containers.
  • Gently shake the container with the cap closed first, then finish with the mixer: this also loosens deposits on the bottom.
  • Assign separate refills to different colors or thoroughly clean the refill between colors to avoid transferring pigment from one container to another.
  • Do not submerge the mixer body in liquids or solvents — only wipe its surface; only the refill comes into contact with the ink.
  • Check the refills periodically and replace them when worn or deformed — you have 5 included in the package.
Warning: Tattoo ink comes into direct contact with damaged skin, so everything that touches the pigment must be treated as a working tool: handle containers only with gloves, do not use the same refill for multiple containers without prior cleaning, and do not bring the mixer into the contaminated work area during tattooing. The mixer body is not a sterilizable instrument — sanitize it by wiping with a surface disinfectant and keep it clean and dry, outside the work field.

Frequently asked questions

Why would I need an ink mixer? Isn't shaking the bottle by hand enough?

Manual shaking helps, but it often leaves pigment settled at the bottom of the container, especially with inks that have been on the shelf for a long time. The mixer makes mixing faster and more thorough, so the color is consistent from the first to the last capsule poured — important both for shade consistency and for a predictable workflow.

What exactly do I get in the package?

You receive the mixer itself, made of high-quality ABS, with dimensions of approximately 13 x 4.5 x 1.5 cm and a weight of 45 g, plus 5 mixer refills. It is a small, lightweight, and durable tool, simple to operate.

How do I properly sanitize it after use?

The refill that has been in the ink is thoroughly cleaned or replaced after use. The mixer body is wiped with a surface disinfectant — do not submerge it in water or solutions, as only the refill is designed to come into contact with the pigment. Then store it dry, in a clean area, separate from contaminated tools.

Can I use the same refill for multiple colors?

It is not recommended without a complete cleaning between colors: you risk transferring pigment from one container to another and altering the shades. The safest approach is to assign different refills to different colors — the 5 included refills help you with exactly that — and clean or replace them as needed.

Is it suitable for beginners or only for studios?

For both. It is described for professional and personal use and is easy to operate, so you can use it equally well as a high-volume artist or as a beginner wanting consistent colors without extra effort.

How often should I mix the ink?

Ideally, before each session in which you use that container. Pigments separate over time regardless of brand, and an unmixed ink can give a more diluted or inconsistent shade. A short mix before pouring into capsules ensures the same color every time you use it.
