Guide & full description

Complete guide: Mixer Ink Purple

A compact mixing tool that homogenizes tattoo ink before use, so that the pigment settled at the bottom of the bottle is evenly redistributed in the liquid. It is useful for both professional artists and beginners, because well-mixed ink means consistent color throughout the work. The body is made of ABS, measures approximately 13x4.5x1.5 cm and weighs only 45 g, so it fits easily into any workstation, and the package includes 5 mixing tips.

How to use

  1. Wash your hands and put on gloves before handling the inks and the mixer.
  2. Attach one of the mixing tips to the mixer — only the tip should come into contact with the ink, not the device body.
  3. Open the ink bottle and insert the mixer tip into the liquid, without submerging the device body.
  4. Mix until the pigment is completely homogeneous: no visible deposits on the bottom of the bottle and no differences in shade in the liquid.
  5. Remove the tip, let the excess ink drip back into the bottle, and close the bottle immediately to limit air exposure.
  6. Detach the used tip and clean it or replace it with a new one, then wipe the mixer body with a surface disinfectant.
  7. Store the mixer clean and dry, away from the sterile work area.

Tips from us

  • Always mix inks that have been sitting on the shelf for a long time — the pigment naturally separates from the carrier liquid and, if undisturbed, gives uneven color.
  • Use a separate tip for each color or clean it thoroughly between colors, so you don't contaminate a light ink with pigment from another.
  • Never submerge the ABS body in ink or cleaning liquids — sanitize it only by wiping with disinfectant.
  • At 45 g and small dimensions, you can keep it permanently in your kit; however, store it wrapped or protected, not thrown loosely among supplies.
  • Mechanical mixing is more thorough than simply shaking the bottle, especially with dense inks or large bottles, where hand shaking often leaves sediment at the bottom.
Warning: The mixer is a reusable accessory that comes into indirect contact with the work area, so treat it like any studio tool: handle it only with gloves, sanitize the body after each session, and do not use the same tip for multiple clients without proper cleaning and disinfection. Do not insert into the ink bottle a tip that has touched other surfaces — any contamination that gets into the bottle compromises its entire contents.

Frequently asked questions

Why should the ink be mixed before tattooing?

The pigment in tattoo inks settles over time at the bottom of the bottle, separating from the carrier liquid. If you work with unmixed ink, the first drops poured will be more diluted, and the final color may turn out uneven or duller than expected. Mixing brings the pigment back into uniform suspension, so you get the same shade from the first to the last ink cup fill.

What do I get in the package?

You get the mixer itself, with an ABS body, plus 5 mixing tips. The tips are the part that actually goes into the ink, so you can alternate them between colors or replace them as they wear out.

How do I sanitize it between uses?

The mixer body is wiped with a surface disinfectant after each session — do not submerge it in liquids. The tip that went into the ink is cleaned separately immediately after use, before the ink dries on it, or replaced with a clean one. Between clients, the golden rule of the studio applies here too: nothing that has touched one client's ink goes into a bottle used for another without cleaning and disinfection.

Can I use the same tip for multiple colors?

Only if you clean it thoroughly between colors, otherwise you transfer pigment from one bottle to another and dirty your shades — a black getting into a yellow, for example, compromises it permanently. The safest workflow is one tip per color within the same session; the package includes 5 tips precisely so you can work that way.

Is it suitable for beginners too, not just for studios?

Yes, it is designed for both professional and personal use. Being small, light (45 g) and simple to operate, it requires no special experience — it's rather a good habit to form from the start: homogeneous ink every session, regardless of your skill level.

Does it work with any type of tattoo ink?

Its role is to homogenize pigments that have separated from the carrier liquid, which applies to tattoo inks in general, regardless of shade. However, keep in mind that mixing does not 'fix' a degraded ink: if the ink is expired, dried out, or has changed its smell or consistency beyond simple sedimentation, do not use it, no matter how well you mix it.
