This is a set of four grey wash inks in 120 ml bottles, designed for black and grey work and for artists who want a coherent grey scale without having to mix it from black and diluent each time. The four steps — Extra Light, Light, Medium, and Dark Graywash — come pre-mixed and are used directly from the bottle. The 120 ml per shade format makes it more suitable for a studio that works consistently with black & grey rather than for occasional trials. The inks are vegan, cruelty-free, and REACH compliant.
How to use
- Check the bottles upon receipt: sealed caps, legible label, batch number, and expiration date. Record them in the studio's inventory, as you do with any ink.
- Shake each bottle well before use. Even though the pigment comes pre-dispersed, settling during storage is normal.
- Prepare your station: protective film or barrier on the machine, cable, and surfaces, plus disposable ink caps — one separate cap for each of the four shades.
- Pour only the estimated amount for the session into the caps. Never insert the needle or machine tip directly into the bottle, and do not touch the bottle neck with a contaminated glove.
- Work the scale in order, from the lightest shade to the darkest. This prevents carrying dark pigment into the light cap and keeps transitions clean.
- Recharge only from the shade's own cap. If you need an intermediate step, mix the four inks together or with other Xtreme inks in a separate cap.
- Periodically wipe the worked area to see the actual deposited value before adding more passes.
- At the end, discard all remaining ink in the caps — never return it to the bottle. Wipe the bottle neck and cap, close tightly, and store at room temperature, away from direct light and heat.

- First, do a test on synthetic skin with all four shades side by side. You will see exactly how much the value 'jumps' from one shade to another and calibrate your transitions before working on a client.
- Keep a dedicated cap for each shade and always arrange them in the same order on your station. This is the simplest way to avoid contaminating the light with the dark during work.
- The set is pre-mixed, so it does not need to be diluted to be usable. If you still want an even subtler step, achieve it through controlled mixing between shades, not improvisation.
- The 120 ml bottles are your station's reserve, not the working container. Pour only what you need and keep the bottle closed between pours.
- Shades are not consumed equally — usually, one of the intermediate ones runs out first. When you notice this, replace it individually instead of buying the whole set again.
- Record the ink lot used in the client's file, along with the session date. This is a standard record-keeping practice and is useful if questions arise later.
