Guide & full description
Complete guide: Xtreme Ink Highlighter Yellow 30ml
We are talking about a professional tattoo ink in electric yellow shade, highlighter type, delivered in a 30 ml bottle from the Xtreme Ink collection. It is designed for neon accents, highlights, and new-school or comic-book style work, exactly where you need a pop of color that catches the eye, even on dark backgrounds. The formula is vegan, cruelty-free, and compliant with European REACH regulations. It is aimed at artists who work with color and want a vibrant yellow, ready to use directly from the bottle, without dilution.
How to use
- Check the bottle before the session: intact seal, legible label, and valid expiration date. Do not use a bottle that has been open for a long time or whose storage conditions are unknown.
- Shake the bottle well before each use until the pigment is evenly distributed. Even if the ink is pre-dispersed, shaking ensures consistent color from the first to the last drop.
- Prepare the workstation: disinfected surfaces, barrier films on the machine, clip cord, spray bottle and lamp, properly worn disposable gloves.
- Pour the ink into disposable ink caps, as many as needed for the session. Never insert the needle, cartridge, or machine tip directly into the bottle.
- Use the ink as is, without dilution, if you want maximum saturation. If you want a lighter shade or a gradient effect, mix separately in a clean cap, not in the original bottle.
- Work the color in an even layer, aiming for the actual saturation in the skin, not the color on the surface. The formula allows good coverage from the first pass, so avoid excessively reworking the same area.
- At the end, discard any remaining ink in the caps along with the caps. Poured ink is never poured back into the bottle.
- Wipe the bottle mouth with a clean tissue, close the cap tightly, and store it at room temperature, away from direct light and heat.
Tips from us
- Highlighter yellow shows its maximum potential on clean skin, without black ink mixed in the area. Plan the color order so that yellow goes in before dark shades or in a separate area, to avoid getting dirty.
- Do a small color test on a small area or on synthetic skin when working with this shade for the first time, to see how it behaves in your hand and with your needle configuration.
- Pour into the cap only as much as you estimate you will use. Light yellow is visibly contaminated by any trace of another color, and any leftover is discarded anyway.
- For intermediate shades, mix it with other inks from the Xtreme range — they are designed to work together. Note the proportions if you want to reproduce the same shade at the touch-up session.
- The final result after healing depends a lot on skin type and aftercare, especially for light colors. Discuss this with the client beforehand so expectations are realistic.
- Keep a spare bottle of the colors you use often in large projects. Running out of ink in the middle of a long color session is the most annoying type of break.
Frequently asked questions
Does anyone need to dilute this ink before use?▾
No, it is ready to use straight from the bottle and that gives you the best saturation. You only dilute if you intentionally want a more transparent effect or a gradient — and in that case, you mix in a separate cap, never in the original bottle, so as not to compromise the rest of the product.
Does it work with my machine? I have a rotary with cartridges.▾
Yes. The manufacturer indicates a consistency compatible with all types of machines — coil, rotary, and pen — and cartridges are not an issue. The flow also depends on the needle configuration you use, so if you switch from one setup to another, do a short test before the visible area of the work.
How do I store it between sessions to keep it from going bad?▾
Close the cap tightly immediately after pouring, wipe the bottle mouth if there is ink on the thread, and keep it at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The golden rule is not to contaminate the bottle: everything that came out of it stays out, and the needle or cartridge never goes inside. A clean bottle maintains its quality until the expiration date on the label.
Is it suitable for a beginner tattoo artist?▾
Yes, in the sense that it requires no special preparation and is used directly. But light yellow is, by nature, a demanding color: any contamination shows, and behavior in the skin varies from client to client. If you are a beginner, practice on synthetic skin and use it first as an accent, not as a large area.
Is it legally safe for a studio in Romania?▾
The formula is declared compliant with European REACH regulations regarding substances allowed in tattoo inks, which also apply in Romania. Xtreme Ink also states that the product is vegan and cruelty-free. Keep the label and batch data as long as you use the bottle — they are useful for any studio inspection.
Can I mix it with other colors to get my own shades?▾
Yes, it mixes well with other inks from the Xtreme range, which are formulated to work together. Mix in a clean cap, in the amount you need, and note the proportions if you want to repeat the same shade at touch-up. Leftover mixture is not poured back into any bottle.
