We're talking about a professional 30ml ink in a deep, rich, opaque dark gray, designed for the shadow areas of black and gray works. It lays down with full opacity, so you use it where you want strong contrast, dark transitions, and dramatic depth in grey-wash — positioned one step before Extra Dark, if you build your palette by values. It is useful for the artist who does black & gray and for those who complete their shadow set with a stable dark value, ready to use directly from the bottle.
How to use
- Check the bottle before the session: intact seal, legible label, valid batch and expiration date. A damaged or expired bottle must not be used.
- Shake the bottle well before each pour. Pigments can settle during storage, and homogenization gives you a consistent shade from start to finish.
- Disinfect the outside of the bottle and prepare the protective barrier on the machine, clip cord, solution bottle, and work surfaces, as with any session.
- Pour only the necessary amount into single-use ink caps, dedicated to that client. Never insert the needle, a spatula, or any used instrument directly into the bottle.
- Work directly from the bottle, without prior dilution or mixing — the formula is ready to use. The flow is consistent on coil, rotary, and pen machines alike.
- Build shadows with controlled passes. The ink provides good saturation from the first pass, so there's no reason to excessively rework the same area just to 'catch' the color.
- If you need an intermediate shade, mix it with other inks from the Xtreme range — they are compatible with each other and give you predictable mixtures.
- Finally, discard the caps along with any ink remaining in them (do not pour back into the bottle), wipe and close the bottle cap tightly, then store it at room temperature, away from direct light and heat.
