It is the darkest step in the Xtreme Ink opaque grey scale — an ultra-dense grey, almost black, supplied in a 30 ml bottle. It is used as an anchor for dark values in grey-wash work: where you need deep shadows and maximum contrast, but don't want to go to pure black. It is a professional consumable, intended for artists working in studios. It comes ready to use, without mixing or dilution, and is compatible with coil, rotary and pen machines.
How to use
- Shake the bottle well before each use so the pigment is evenly dispersed throughout the entire amount.
- Prepare your workstation: disinfected surfaces, protective barriers on the machine, clip cord and bottles, disposable gloves.
- Pour only the amount you need into disposable ink caps, directly from the bottle. Never insert the needle or another tool into the bottle.
- Apply the stencil and let it dry completely before the first pass, so the line doesn't smear during work.
- Build the values from light to dark: apply the lighter greys first, then use this shade for the deepest shadows and maximum contrast areas.
- Work with constant pressure and controlled passes. Good saturation on the first pass means you don't have to go over the same area excessively — overworking traumatizes the skin without adding density.
- At the end, discard the leftover ink along with the caps. What has been poured never goes back into the bottle.
- Close the cap firmly, wipe the outside of the bottle, and store it at room temperature, away from direct light and heat.
