Guide & full description

Complete guide: Biotat Blush Numbing Tattoo Glide 500g

A black (charcoal) tattoo glide with a 'Zen' fragrance — coconut, cedarwood, and sandalwood on a musk and vanilla base — created by Biotat for use during tattooing sessions. The vegan formula naturally numbs the area being worked on through the power of clove oil, without lidocaine, and reduces skin redness and inflammation. The 500g jar is the professional format, designed for artists and studios that use glide daily, especially in long sessions.

How to use

  1. Remove the necessary amount from the jar with a disposable spatula and place it in a separate container on the work station — do not re-enter the jar with the glove you used.
  2. Apply a thin layer on the area you are working on, just like with any regular tattoo glide or butter.
  3. No need to apply before the tattoo — the formula works as you tattoo, penetrating the skin while you work.
  4. Wipe off excess ink as usual; the formula is designed to make wiping easier and reduce the frequency of wiping.
  5. Reapply a thin layer after wiping, throughout the session, as needed.
  6. At the end of the tattoo, completely wipe off any excess product from the skin.
  7. Do not use the product after the tattoo — it is not a healing cream (aftercare), but exclusively a working product during the session.
  8. Close the jar tightly after each use and store it away from children and animals.

Tips from us

  • A thin layer is enough — excess glide does not bring additional benefits and may hinder stencil visibility.
  • Hygiene is the golden rule: a new spatula for each client and a secondary container, so you don't contaminate the 500g jar that you will use for weeks.
  • Being a black glide, it is a natural choice for blackwork and black & grey; if you work with very light pigments and want maximum visual control over the color, consider a light-colored glide.
  • The numbing effect is natural and gentle — think of it as an added comfort that helps the client stay calmer in long sessions, not as an actual anesthetic.
  • If the client has reactive skin, ask about sensitivities to eugenol or fragrances before the session and stop using at the first sign of a reaction.
  • The 500g format only makes economic sense if you consume it consistently — for testing, a small format makes more sense before moving to the large jar.
Warning: The product contains clove oil (eugenol) and fragrance — do not use on people sensitive to eugenol and immediately stop use if any skin reaction occurs. Avoid the eye area; in case of contact, rinse immediately with water. If swallowed, seek medical advice. Keep out of reach of children and animals. It is exclusively a working product during tattooing — do not use as aftercare. For hygiene, remove the product from the jar only with clean, disposable tools, never with the glove you are using on the client.

Frequently asked questions

Does it contain lidocaine or another synthetic anesthetic?

No. The numbing is completely natural, based on clove bud oil (eugenol), without lidocaine. The effect is gentle: it reduces discomfort, redness, and inflammation, helping the client to stay more comfortable, but it does not produce total anesthesia like a pharmaceutical anesthetic.

Should it be applied before starting the tattoo?

No — and that distinguishes it from classic pre-procedure anesthetics. It is applied only during tattooing, like any glide or working butter, and the formula works as you work, penetrating the tattooed area throughout the session.

Can I recommend it to the client for aftercare?

No. The manufacturer explicitly states that it is not used as aftercare. At the end of the session, you wipe off all excess from the skin, and for healing, you recommend the client a dedicated post-tattoo care cream.

Does the black color of the gel bother me while working?

It depends on your style. For blackwork and black & grey, the black glide is a natural fit and wipes off the skin along with excess ink. If you frequently work with very light pigments or in micropigmentation, where you want to visually evaluate the exact shade in real time, a light-colored glide may be more convenient — however, Black Zen remains a universal working product, when applied correctly, in a thin layer.

How do I keep the 500g jar hygienic in the long term?

The basic rule: the product comes out of the jar once. Use a disposable spatula to transfer the necessary amount into a container or onto a barrier work surface, per client, and never reintroduce leftover product back into the jar. Close the lid tightly after each use and keep the jar out of the splash zone at the work station.

Is it suitable for vegan clients and how does it smell?

The formula is vegan, and the product is manufactured in the UK, with eco-friendly packaging and labels without wood paper. The 'Zen' fragrance combines notes of coconut, cedarwood, and sandalwood on a musk and vanilla base — a discreet scent, designed to make the studio atmosphere more pleasant in long sessions.

Biotat Blush Numbing Tattoo Glide in the professional 500g format is the ideal economical variant for tattoo and micropigmentation studios that have adopted Blush gel as their standard work product. The same premium formula with natural eugenol from cloves, ISO 9001 and ISO 22716 certified, provides gentle natural anesthetic effect, redness reduction, and optimal machine glide on skin. The gel's pink-nude shade remains the preferred choice of PMU artists working with light-shade pigments who don't want visual interference from a dark-colored gel. The 500g jar offers a considerably lower per-gram price than the 100g format, translating to significant savings for studios with daily use. The vegan, cruelty-free formula free from chlorhexidine and synthetic substances aligns with modern ethical and sustainability standards. Eugenol's natural anti-inflammatory properties keep skin calm and allow longer sessions without excessive client discomfort. Batch-to-batch consistency guaranteed by ISO certifications ensures every jar delivers the same quality experience. It is a staple product in any professional studio focused on client comfort. Micropigmentation studios with intensive schedules benefit most from the 500g Blush format. Daily gel consumption in PMU procedures is significant, as each eyebrow, lip, or eyeliner procedure requires repeated applications throughout the session. The professional format ensures the studio never runs out of product and per-procedure cost remains as low as possible, maximizing profitability. Frequently Asked Questions Why choose the 500g Blush format? The 500g format offers significant per-gram savings compared to the 100g jar. It is the ideal choice for studios that have tested and adopted Biotat Blush as their standard product, ensuring sufficient stock for weeks of daily use and reduced long-term cost. Is the 500g formula identical to the 100g? Yes, the formula is perfectly identical. Same eugenol concentration, same natural ingredients, same ISO-certified quality. The difference lies exclusively in the product quantity and the more advantageous per-gram price of the professional format. Is Biotat Blush 500g suitable for artistic tattooing? Yes, while particularly popular in micropigmentation due to the pink-nude color, Blush can also be used for artistic tattooing. Artists working on fair skin or with colored ink appreciate the subtle contrast offered by the Blush shade. How long does a 500g jar last in a studio? A 500g jar lasts on average 3-6 weeks in a studio with moderate to intense activity. The exact duration depends on daily client numbers, work sizes, and the amount of gel used per session. Larger studios may consume a jar faster. Is the product also available in 2kg format? Yes, Biotat offers the Blush variant also in the 2kg Sumo format, intended for studios with very high client volume. The 2kg format offers the most advantageous per-gram price and minimizes order frequency for high-volume studios. Does Blush gel interfere with PMU pigments? No, Biotat Blush does not interfere with PMU pigment absorption or color. The gel's pink-nude shade was specifically chosen not to affect visualization of the delicate shades used in micropigmentation, unlike black or green gels. How should the jar be stored after opening? Keep the jar tightly closed after each use, in a cool place away from direct light. Do not insert contaminated instruments into the jar; scoop gel with a clean or disposable spatula to prevent product contamination. Does Biotat Blush have the same anti-inflammatory properties as Black Zen? Yes, all Biotat variants contain the same eugenol concentration with identical anti-inflammatory properties. Redness reduction, skin calming, and natural numbing effect are the same in Blush, Black Zen, and Envy. Differences are exclusively aesthetic. Can I mix Biotat Blush with other work products? Using Biotat Blush as a standalone work product without mixing with other gels or substances is recommended. Mixing may alter the formula and affect numbing efficacy or gel consistency. Use the product as designed by the manufacturer. What if the client has a clove allergy? If the client has a known allergy to cloves or eugenol, do not use Biotat or any other product containing these ingredients. Always perform a patch test on a small skin area before first use and ask the client about known allergies.
