Guide & full description

Complete guide: Stigma-Rotary® Power-Drive 6W MotorPlug

This replacement motor is the heart of Stigma rotary machines — a Maxon motor, Swiss Made, attached via the MotorPlug system that can be attached and removed in seconds. It is the part you need if you want to replace the worn-out motor of your machine, keep a spare for long sessions, or adjust the needle stroke by changing the eccentric. Being a durable part, not a consumable, it keeps your Stigma equipment in shape for a long time.

How to use

  1. Disconnect the machine from the power supply before any assembly or disassembly.
  2. Attach the motor to the Stigma machine body via the EasyPlug system — it locks in place in seconds, without tools.
  3. Rotate the motor to bring the RCA/clipcord contacts to the angle that suits you, so that the cable does not get in your way during work.
  4. Connect your preferred cable — the motor comes complete with both variants, RCA and clipcord.
  5. Choose the appropriate eccentric for the technique: the medium stroke one comes pre-installed for general use; for a shorter or longer stroke, install the corresponding eccentric.
  6. Turn on the power supply and adjust the speed via voltage — lower for delicate shading, higher for lining and packing.
  7. Do a short test (needle movement, sound, stability) before working on skin.

Tips from us

  • Keep a spare motor on hand: thanks to the EasyPlug system, you can change it in seconds, even in the middle of a session.
  • Let the motor do the work — it maintains speed under load, so do not force pressure on the skin; control everything from speed and stroke.
  • Match the stroke (eccentric) to your style: shorter for fine lines and delicate shading, longer for packing and intense color.
  • A single MotorPlug works on all compatible Stigma bodies, so you can move the same motor between machines.
  • Adjust the speed gradually and listen to the machine: a smooth run without excessive vibration means a correct setting.
Warning: The motor contains electronics and fine mechanics, so do not submerge it in liquids and do not autoclave it. During work, protect it with a barrier film/sleeve (machine bag and clip cord sleeve) and change it for each client to prevent cross-contamination. Always disconnect the power supply before assembling or disassembling the motor, do not exceed the recommended voltage of your power supply, and wipe the exterior with a compatible surface disinfectant, without allowing liquid to enter the connector.

Frequently asked questions

Which Stigma machines is this motor compatible with?

The motor attaches to the machine body via the EasyPlug system and, according to the manufacturer, the same MotorPlug can support all Stigma bodies. Basically, you can move it between Stigma machines that use the MotorPlug mount. Before purchasing, check if your machine is built on the MotorPlug/EasyPlug system.

Are the cables included or do I buy them separately?

The motor comes complete with both connections — RCA and clipcord — so you can use it with most power supplies, regardless of the cable type you prefer. Additionally, you can rotate the motor to position the contacts at the desired angle.

What stroke does it have and can I change it?

The motor comes pre-installed with a medium stroke eccentric, suitable for general use. There are also additional eccentrics — short (2.6 mm) and long (4.4 mm) — with which you can modify the stroke length depending on the technique: shorter for fine lines and shading, longer for packing and color. The eccentric is changed on the same machine body.

How do I mount it and how long does it take?

Thanks to the EasyPlug system, the motor attaches or detaches in seconds, without tools. First disconnect the power supply, fix the MotorPlug onto the body, rotate it to bring the RCA/clipcord contacts to the desired angle, connect the cable, and do a short test before working on skin.

How do I maintain and sanitize the motor?

Because it has electronics, the motor should not be submerged in liquids and should not be autoclaved. During work, protect it with a barrier film/sleeve and change it for each client to prevent cross-contamination. After the session, discard the barrier and wipe the exterior with a compatible surface disinfectant, avoiding liquid entering the connector. Keep it dry and store it away from dust.

What warranty does the product have?

According to the manufacturer, the warranty is 1 year, provided directly by them. For the specific return and warranty conditions when purchasing through tatuat.ro, check the store's policy at the time of ordering.

Product description

The Stigma 4.5W V2 Motor is the second-generation replacement motor designed for Stigma rotary machines, a brushless DC motor with 4.5W nominal power that delivers the torque and RPMs needed for all tattoo techniques — from fine lines to intense packing. The V2 version brings significant improvements over the first generation: superior energy efficiency, quieter operation, reduced vibrations, and extended lifespan thanks to optimized coil and permanent magnet design. With 4.5W of power, the motor develops sufficient torque to maintain constant RPMs even under the variable load of skin penetration — it does not slow down at needle-to-dermis contact, ensuring a constant and consistent stroke. This translates into uniform lines without thickness variations, homogeneous shading without spots, and efficient packing without requiring excessive pressure from the artist. The V2 motor is optimized for operation at standard operating voltages (5-12V DC) controlled by the power supply, allowing the artist to adjust RPMs based on technique: lower RPMs for delicate shading, medium RPMs for lining, and high RPMs for packing. The connector is compatible with the Stigma power supply system, ensuring plug-and-play mounting without modifications or adapters. Dimensions and mounting are identical to the original motor, allowing direct replacement without machine body modifications. Special offer available — optimal investment for renewing existing Stigma equipment. Frequently Asked Questions
