Proton Battery for Tattoo Machines

Complete guide: Proton Battery for Tattoo Machines

The Proton power source is a compact external battery that turns any wired tattoo machine into a wireless one: it mounts directly onto the machine's RCA connection and completely eliminates the cable between you and the classic power supply. It is part of the Kwadron Equaliser ecosystem and is compatible with the Proton MX, Fredator, Micron, and Enduro machines, but works with any machine that has a traditional RCA jack. At only 62 g (with battery) and dimensions of 48 × 48 × 22 mm, it adds no noticeable weight to the machine. It is the right choice both for artists working at conventions who need mobility, and for those who are simply tired of tangled cables in their workspace.

How to use

1. Before first use, fully charge both batteries from the set using the included charger and Type-C cable — full charging takes about one hour.
2. Connect the battery directly to your machine's RCA jack; make sure it is firmly attached with no play.
3. Cover the battery with a disposable protective barrier (film or dedicated sleeve), just as you protect the machine and clip cord in a classic session.
4. Turn on the power source and set the desired working voltage — the range covered is 5–12 V, sufficient for common lining and shading styles.
5. Work normally; one battery provides up to 3 hours of operation, depending on the voltage used.
6. When the battery runs out, switch it with the second one from the set and put the first one to charge — this way you can work non-stop without interrupting the session.
7. At the end of the session, remove the protective barrier, disinfect the battery surface with a disinfectant wipe (without submerging it in liquid) and put the batteries to charge for the next session.

Tips from us

• The fact that you get two batteries in the set is designed for rotation: with a runtime of up to 3 hours and charging in about one hour, the spare battery is always ready before the active one runs out.
• Use a NEW protective barrier for each client — the battery sits in the work area and gets contaminated just like the machine.
• If your machine is not from the Equaliser range, check before ordering that it has an RCA connection — this is the only type of jack mentioned by the manufacturer as compatible.
• Charge the batteries with the charger and Type-C cable from the set and do not leave them charging unattended for long periods.
• If you don't tattoo for a longer period, store the batteries in a dry place at room temperature, and check their charge level before the next session.
