Guide & full description

Complete guide: Suprasorb F set of 10 foils 10cmx12cm for wrapping the tattoo

This is a transparent, self-adhesive film dressing, of the "second skin" type, from Lohmann & Rauscher, used for the aftercare of a fresh tattoo (and micropigmentation procedures). It is applied over the treated area and forms a barrier that keeps away germs, water, and clothing friction, while allowing the skin to breathe and maintaining a moist environment that supports healing. The set contains 10 pre-cut sheets of 10x12 cm, individually packaged — practical both for the artist working at conventions or guest spots, and for the client continuing their aftercare at home. Being transparent, it allows checking the tattoo without removing it.

How to use

  1. At the end, thoroughly clean the tattoo (water and a mild soap or your usual cleaning solution) and pat the skin dry completely — the film does not adhere properly to damp skin or skin with cream residue.
  2. Choose a sheet that extends about 2 cm beyond the tattoo outline on each side, so that the edges adhere to healthy skin.
  3. Open the individual packaging without touching the adhesive side and gradually peel off the silicone liner from one edge, not all at once.
  4. Position that edge onto the skin, centering the film over the tattoo, then smooth the film from the center outward to remove air bubbles.
  5. Press firmly on the edges to seal. On curved areas (ankle, wrist, elbow) the elastic film conforms to the contour.
  6. The first sheet is typically worn for about 24 hours — during this time, plasma and excess ink collect underneath, which is normal.
  7. Removal: under warm running water, gently pull one edge parallel to the skin (not upward), in the direction of hair growth; warm water weakens the adhesive and prevents irritation.
  8. Clean the tattoo again, dry it well, and if the aftercare protocol requires it, apply a second sheet for a few more days.

Tips from us

  • Apply it only on completely dry skin with no cream or ointment — otherwise it won't adhere and leakage may occur under the edges.
  • Always leave a margin of healthy skin around the tattoo; that's where the seal is actually made.
  • A little plasma under the film in the first few hours is normal; if too much liquid accumulates and the film starts to lift, remove it, clean the area, and put on a new one.
  • You can shower with the film on your skin as it is waterproof, but avoid prolonged immersion — bath, pool, sauna.
  • On curved areas, small relief cuts on the edge of the film help prevent creases.
  • Explain to the client how to remove the film (under warm water, pulling parallel to the skin) — many people pull it upward and irritate the fresh tattoo.
Warning: The film should be applied to a freshly cleaned tattoo, NOT on skin that is still actively bleeding or on irritated skin or with signs of infection. The adhesive is designed not to irritate, but if intense itching, spreading redness, blisters under the film, or pronounced discomfort occur, remove it and assess the area. Some people are sensitive to adhesives. Each sheet is single-use, individually packaged — do not reuse and do not touch the adhesive side with dirty hands. The product aids aftercare but does not replace medical advice: at clear signs of infection (increasing pain, purulent discharge, fever) refer the client to a doctor.

Frequently asked questions

How is the healing film better than regular plastic wrap?

The 'second skin' type film is a breathable film: it allows the skin to release water vapor while maintaining a waterproof and microbe-proof barrier. This preserves a moist environment favorable for healing, without suffocating the skin. Regular cling film does not breathe, is only used for short transport, and is not intended for long-term tattoo aftercare.

How long should I keep the film on the tattoo?

A common protocol is: first sheet for approximately 24 hours (during which it collects plasma and excess ink), then, after cleaning, a second sheet for a few more days. The exact duration depends on the tattoo size, location, and the artist's recommendation — follow the instructions given at the end of the session.

Can I shower with the film on?

Yes. The film is waterproof, so a short shower is not a problem. However, avoid prolonged immersion — bathtub, pool, sauna — and strong water jet directly on the film, which could weaken the edges.

What size tattoo does a 10x12 cm sheet cover?

The sheet measures 10x12 cm, and if you keep about 2 cm of adhesive margin on healthy skin on each side, the remaining useful surface is suitable for small tattoos: wrist symbols, letters, constellations, minimalist designs on the ankle or behind the ear, as well as for micropigmentation areas (e.g., one eyebrow per sheet). For larger or irregularly shaped tattoos, a roll from which you cut to size may be more convenient.

Can a sheet be reused?

No. Each sheet is single-use and individually packaged precisely to keep the surface clean until application. Once removed and worn, the adhesive and barrier properties are no longer reliable, so you use a new sheet for each application.

Liquid collects under the film — is that normal?

Yes, in the first few hours it is normal for plasma and a little excess ink to collect; it's part of the healing process in a moist environment. It only becomes a problem if the liquid accumulates excessively and lifts the film — then you remove it, clean the area, dry it, and apply a new one.

Each sheet comes individually packaged with a silicone backing that facilitates precise application — peel the backing, position on the tattoo, smooth without air bubbles. The 10x12cm size is calibrated for popular fine line tattoos: wrist constellations, small symbols, letters, finger tattoos, behind-ear designs, and mini ankle pieces. The 10-micron semi-permeable polyurethane film allows skin breathability (MVTR exceeding 800 g/m²/24h) while maintaining an impermeable barrier against water and bacteria. The hypoallergenic acrylate-based adhesive adheres securely to skin without causing irritation and removes cleanly under warm water. The pre-cut format eliminates the need for scissors and dimension calculations — ideal for mobile artists working at conventions, guest spots, or home sessions. Unlike large rolls, individual sheets maintain perfect sterility of each piece until the moment of use. A set of 10 sheets covers 10 small tattoo sessions or 5 sessions with double application (first application 24h + second application 3-5 days). CE Class I certified medical product, biocompatible per ISO 10993, lot traceable. The optimal cost-effective solution for tattoos under 100 cm² surface area. Frequently Asked Questions
