Guide & full description
Complete guide: Balm Tattoo Original 30gr
This is the classic aftercare balm from the Balm Tattoo brand — a formula with 5% Panthenol and Sepitonic M3 (a mix of Cu, Zn, and Mg minerals combined with organic anions), designed to support the natural healing of freshly tattooed skin. The 30g format is compact, practical for the artist to offer to the client at the end of the session or to carry with you during healing. It is suitable both for fresh tattoos and as a maintenance moisturizer for already healed tattoos, especially if you have skin prone to dryness or sensitive to cold and detergents.
How to use
- Clean the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild antibacterial soap.
- Pat dry (do not rub) with a clean towel or disposable tissue.
- Apply a thin layer of balm, enough to cover the area evenly, without excess.
- Gently massage until the product is fully absorbed.
- Repeat application 3-4 times a day throughout the healing period.
- Start using from day 2-3 after tattooing, after removing the initial bandage/film, according to your artist's instructions.
- Do not apply thick layers — a layer that is too thick can suffocate the skin and slow down healing.
- After complete healing, you can continue with one application per day as a maintenance moisturizer for color clarity.
Tips from us
- A 30g tube covers the complete healing of a small tattoo (wrist, ankle) or about 2-3 weeks of use on a medium tattoo (forearm); for large pieces (sleeve), consider an additional tube.
- Keep the tube away from excessive heat and direct sunlight to maintain the formula's quality.
- If the product is used in the studio on multiple clients, scoop out the necessary amount with a clean disposable spatula, do not touch the tube directly to the skin.
- Do not share it between different people — avoid cross-contamination of the tube.
- For long-term maintenance, one application per day on clean skin is sufficient.
- If the skin remains very dry or flaky despite consistent application, discuss the appropriate frequency with your artist.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a 30g tube last?▾
A 30g tube covers the complete healing of a small tattoo (wrist, ankle) or about 2-3 weeks of use on a medium-sized tattoo (forearm), with 3-4 applications per day. For large pieces, such as a sleeve, 30g may only last for the first week — consider an additional tube. The format is optimized to be given to the client at the end of the session, not as permanent studio stock.
What is the difference between Balm Tattoo Original and Balm Tattoo Vegan?▾
Original is the classic formula, with traditional quality ingredients. Vegan excludes animal-derived ingredients (lanolin, beeswax), replaced with plant-based and synthetic alternatives. Performance is comparable between the two — the difference is mainly ethical, with Vegan being suitable for clients who follow a vegan lifestyle.
How do I apply the balm correctly to avoid contaminating the tube?▾
Use clean hands for each application. If the product is used on multiple clients in the studio, scoop out the necessary amount with a clean disposable spatula, instead of touching the tube directly to the skin. Do not share the same personal tube between multiple people, to avoid transferring bacteria to an area that is still healing.
Is it suitable for all skin types?▾
According to the product description, it is indicated even for very dry, scaly skin or skin sensitive to cold and detergents/irritating substances. It does not contain petrolatum (vaseline), parabens, or synthetic fragrances, making it a gentle option for sensitive skin. If you have known allergies to any component, check the ingredient list before use.
Can I also use it on old, already healed tattoos?▾
Yes, it works well as a maintenance moisturizer for fully healed tattoos. One application per day on clean skin helps maintain skin suppleness and color clarity in the long term.
Does it contain fragrance?▾
No, it does not contain synthetic fragrances; the mild, natural scent comes from the formula's ingredients. The absence of fragrance matters because freshly tattooed skin is sensitive, and fragrances can cause irritation.
