Guide & full description

Complete guide: Pro Wrap 5cm x 4.5m Blue

It is a self-adhesive cohesive bandage, used mainly for wrapping the grip of the tattoo machine. It sticks only to itself — not to skin or hair — and creates a clean barrier that you change for each client. It is aimed at tattoo artists and studios who want a hygienic workstation and a more comfortable grip in the hand. The current version is blue, with a width of 5 cm and a length of 4,5 m.

How to use

  1. Clean and disinfect the machine grip before wrapping it — the bandage is a barrier, not a substitute for disinfection.
  2. Unroll the end of the roll and attach it to the grip; being cohesive, it sticks to itself, without sticking to skin or hair.
  3. Wrap in a spiral along the grip, with an overlap of about 50% between turns, stretching the material slightly (not to the maximum).
  4. For a thicker and more comfortable grip, add a few extra turns — the 4,5 m usually suffice for 3-5 grip wraps.
  5. At the end, tear or cut the bandage and press it onto itself to secure it.
  6. Optionally, continue wrapping over the clip cord / cable, to protect it and allow hygienic handling.
  7. At the end of the session, unwrap the bandage and discard it; use a new piece for each client.

Tips from us

  • Do not stretch the material to the maximum: you lose length, and too much tension becomes uncomfortable during long sessions.
  • A consistent overlap of about 50% gives you a uniform surface, without wrinkles that might bother you in the grip.
  • Thicken thin grips with a few extra turns — this reduces hand fatigue during long sessions.
  • Keep in stock both the 5 cm version (standard grip) and the 2.5 cm version (narrower applications), for versatility.
  • The blue matches blue nitrile gloves, for a coordinated look at the station.
  • Being resistant to green soap, ink, and water, it does not come apart during work.
Warning: It is a single-use consumable: one piece per client / per session, do not reuse. It does not replace disinfection of the grip — always disinfect the surface underneath. Although it does not adhere to skin or hair, it is not a sterile medical dressing; for tattoo aftercare follow your usual protocol. The material is latex-free and CE marked, useful if you or the client have latex sensitivity.

Frequently asked questions

Does it stick to skin or hair?

No. The bandage is cohesive, meaning it sticks only to itself, not to skin, hair, or other surfaces. That is why you can unwrap it cleanly at the end of the session, without pulling hair or leaving residue on the grip.

How many grips can I wrap with one roll?

The roll is 4,5 m long, generally enough for 3-5 standard grip wraps, depending on how many turns and how much overlap you use. If you thicken the grip a lot, the number decreases accordingly.

Can I reuse the same piece on multiple clients?

No. It is a single-use product: a new piece is applied for each client, and at the end it is unwrapped and discarded. Reuse cancels the hygienic barrier role. The grip underneath must still be disinfected separately.

Does it contain latex?

No — it is latex-free and CE marked. It is useful both for you and for clients with latex sensitivity or allergy, because it eliminates this contact at the grip level.

What is the difference between blue and black?

Functionally they are identical — the same cohesive adhesion, the same elasticity and resistance. The difference is purely aesthetic and branding: black is the most discreet and best masks stains, while blue is visually associated with hygiene (like blue medical gloves) and coordinates with blue nitrile gloves. Many artists keep both colors in stock.

Which width do I choose, 5 cm or 2.5 cm?

The 5 cm is the right width for standard grips and covers the surface quickly. The 2.5 cm version is useful for thin grips and narrower applications. Both have the same length of 4,5 m and the same properties, so you can combine them depending on the setup.
