Guide & full description

Complete guide: Pro Wrap 5cm x 4.5m Purple

The purple Pro Wrap cohesive bandage is a protective consumable for the workstation in the tattoo studio, mainly used for wrapping the grips of pen and rotary machines. It sticks only to itself — not to skin, hair, or gloves — and maintains its initial tension throughout the session. It is composed of 95% non-woven material (PPSB) and 5% spandex, has a maximum stretch coefficient of 150%, and is guaranteed latex-free. The purple color adds a distinctive touch to the workstation as an alternative to classic black or white bandages, with no functional compromise compared to other variants in the range.

How to use

  1. Disinfect and prepare the machine grip, then tear the end of the roll — no adhesive needed, the material sticks to itself.
  2. Secure the end on the grip with a short overlap and press lightly so it adheres to itself.
  3. Wrap in a spiral with about half-width overlap, stretching the material slightly for even compression (without exceeding the maximum stretch of 150%).
  4. Cover the entire grip area so that the grip is ergonomically comfortable and uniform along its entire length.
  5. At the end, tear or cut with clean scissors — the non-woven edge remains smooth and does not fray.
  6. Press the last layer lightly to bond with the one underneath and check that it does not slip.
  7. When changing clients, completely remove the used wrap and apply a new bandage on the re-sanitized grip.
  8. Optionally, use the same roll for securing dressings on fresh tattoos or for protecting cables and equipment in the studio.

Tips from us

  • A 4.5m roll covers approximately 3-5 full grip wraps — keep this in mind when calculating daily consumption.
  • Stretch the bandage until you feel compression, but do not force it beyond the 150% limit — excessive stretching reduces uniformity and comfort.
  • For thinner grips, securing small dressings, or finger wrapping, the range also includes the 2.5 cm width with the same properties.
  • Resists green soap, ink, and water, so it does not come undone during work even if the grip area gets wet.
  • You can choose the color based on your or your client's preference — the properties are identical regardless of the variant, so the decision is purely aesthetic.
  • You don't need special scissors: any clean scissors cut cleanly, and the edge remains smooth without fraying.
Warning: This is a single-use consumable per session — change the bandage for each client to maintain workstation hygiene. The product is guaranteed latex-free (useful for those with latex sensitivity), but does not replace other hygiene barriers in your protocol. Do not use Pro Wrap as a tourniquet: it is a light compression bandage, not an emergency medical device; for such situations, use a certified medical tourniquet. The product has CE conformity; store the roll at room temperature.

Frequently asked questions

Does the purple color transfer to skin or gloves?

No. The purple pigment is impregnated into the bandage fibers, so it does not migrate to skin, nitrile gloves, or equipment, even with prolonged contact with green soap or ink. When removed, hands stay clean. This is a practical difference from cheap bandages where the dye can migrate.

Which width should I choose — 5 cm or 2.5 cm?

The 5 cm width is the standard for wrapping pen and rotary machine grips and best covers the gripping area. The 2.5 cm variant in the same range is useful for thinner grips, securing small dressings, or wrapping fingers during long sessions. Both are 4.5m long and have the same cohesive properties.

How many wraps can I get from one roll?

A 5cm x 4.5m roll generally covers 3-5 full grip wraps, depending on how many layers you apply and the thickness of the grip. For a workflow with many clients in a day, it's useful to have several rolls on hand, considering it is changed for each client.

Does it unravel if I cut it with scissors?

No. The non-woven material does not tear or fray at the cut edges, so you can cut the desired length with any clean scissors, and the edge remains smooth. Some artists tear the bandage directly with their hands, and the edge stays just as clean.

Does it contain latex?

No. Pro Wrap is guaranteed latex-free, making it suitable even for artists or clients with latex sensitivity. The declared composition is 95% non-woven material (PPSB) and 5% spandex.

Can I use it as a tourniquet?

No, Pro Wrap is not designed for that. It is a light compression cohesive bandage, not an emergency medical device, and does not safely apply the necessary pressure to stop blood flow. For emergency situations, use a certified medical tourniquet.

Pro Wrap elastic bandage 5cm x 4.5m Purple is the distinctive colored variant in the cohesive self-adhesive bandage range for tattoo studios.
