Guide & full description
Complete guide: Sterile field 2 layers 45x75cm
A single-use sterile field, made of two layers — absorbent PPSB nonwoven on top and impermeable PE film underneath — supplied in an individual sealed blister. At 45x75 cm, it fully covers the side table and creates an aseptic work area where you can arrange all the instruments and supplies for a session. It is useful for anyone working under professional hygiene conditions: tattoo artists, piercers, and anyone in need of a large sterile work surface.
How to use
- First, clean and disinfect the work surface (side table, tray) according to your usual protocol — the field is applied over an already sanitized surface.
- Wash your hands and put on gloves before handling the blister.
- Check the integrity of the packaging: if the blister is perforated, moist, or already opened, sterility is no longer guaranteed and the product should not be used.
- Open the blister through the top, where the distinctive mark is printed — that is the area designed for proper opening.
- Thanks to the special folding method, the field spreads easily and quickly on the surface, without shaking or pulling it excessively.
- Place it with the nonwoven (absorbent) layer facing up, towards you, and the PE film facing the table — this way liquids are absorbed on the surface, and the impermeable barrier protects the table.
- Arrange the instruments and supplies needed for the session on the field; avoid touching the field with non-sterile objects or ungloved hands.
- At the end of the session, bundle the contaminated supplies into the field and dispose of everything as waste — the field is not reusable.
Tips from us
- Open the blister only right before the session, not hours beforehand — once opened, the field can no longer be considered sterile indefinitely.
- Basic rule: one field = one session = one client. Change it between clients, even if it looks clean.
- If during a long session the field becomes saturated with liquids (ink, solutions), replace it with a new one — the absorbent layer has a limited capacity.
- The 45x75 cm surface allows you to cover large tables; for trays or small work areas, the product range also includes a more compact 38x45 cm variant.
- Store the stock of fields in a dry and clean place, away from moisture and objects that could perforate the blisters.
- The field can also be used for wiping instruments during work, thanks to the absorbent nonwoven layer.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know the product is still sterile when I use it?▾
The field comes individually packaged in a sealed blister, and sterility is guaranteed as long as the packaging remains intact. Before each use, check the blister: it should not be punctured, opened, moist, or visibly damaged. Open it only through the top, where the distinctive mark is printed — that way you remove the field correctly without compromising the contents. If you have any doubt about the integrity of the packaging, use another field.
Can I reuse the field after a session or sterilize it in an autoclave?▾
No. It is a pre-sterilized, single-use product and cannot be autoclaved or resterilized by any method after opening. The materials it is made of (PPSB nonwoven and PE film) are not designed to withstand a sterilization cycle, and reuse would mean a direct risk of cross-contamination between clients. After the session, the field is disposed of as waste, along with the rest of the contaminated supplies.
When does the 45x75 cm size make sense compared to a smaller one?▾
The 45x75 cm variant is the right choice when you work on a normal or large side table and want to cover it completely, or when the session involves many instruments and supplies placed simultaneously (multiple grips, pigment caps, swabs, solutions). For small trays or simple sessions with few instruments, a more compact size like 38x45 cm may be sufficient. As a rule of thumb: choose the size that completely covers the surface where you actually place the instruments, without hanging much over the edges.
Which side should the field be placed on the table?▾
With the nonwoven (PPSB) layer facing outward, i.e., up towards you, and the polyethylene (PE) film facing the table. The nonwoven layer ensures good absorption of fluids — ink, solutions — and the PE film underneath forms the impermeable barrier that prevents liquids from reaching the work surface. If you place it upside down, you lose both absorption and protection.
If I use the sterile field, do I still need to disinfect the table?▾
Yes, absolutely. The sterile field is applied over an already cleaned and disinfected surface — it creates the aseptic work area and protects the table from contamination during the session, but it does not compensate for a dirty surface underneath. The correct protocol is: disinfect the table, then a new sterile field, then arrange the instruments. Between clients, repeat the entire cycle: discard the field, disinfect the table, new field.
Can I use this field for piercing or other procedures, not just tattooing?▾
Yes. Being a generic sterile protective field, it is suitable as an aseptic work surface in any procedure that requires strict hygiene — tattooing, piercing, or other work where instruments need to be placed on a clean and protected area. The usage principle remains the same: intact packaging, pre-disinfected surface, absorbent layer facing up, and disposal after a single use.
