Guide & full description

Complete guide: Creion Biotek Ash Blond 106

It is a pre-drawing pencil (dermographic crayon) used by permanent micropigmentation (PMU) artists to trace and map the shape of eyebrows, lip contour, or eyeliner line before the actual procedure. The Ash Blond 106 shade is an ashy blonde with a cool tone, designed for clients with light skin, cool undertone, and natural blonde or gray hair. It is manufactured by Biotek Italia, using the same pigments from their PMU product range, in a waxy base that is resistant to water and the solutions used during the procedure. It is intended for professional artists as a working tool for the consultation and preparatory drawing phase, not as a general cosmetic product.

How to use

  1. Sharpen the pencil with a dedicated cosmetic sharpener, with a stainless steel blade, for a fine and stable tip.
  2. Clean and disinfect the work area (eyebrows, lip contour, or eye line) according to your studio's hygiene protocol before drawing.
  3. Draw the desired shape directly on the skin with the pencil, adjusting symmetry and proportions step by step.
  4. Show the drawing to the client and obtain their approval on the shape and position before starting the pigmentation.
  5. Begin the procedure using the traced contour as a guide; the waxy formula resists water and the cleaning/disinfecting solutions used during work, so the drawing remains visible.
  6. If a line needs correction during the process, wipe it locally and redraw with the pencil.
  7. At the end of the procedure, remove any pencil residue from the skin with an oil-based makeup remover.
  8. Resharpen the pencil before each new client and store it away from direct heat to prevent the waxy base from softening.

Tips from us

  • Choose a shade 1-2 tones lighter than the final pigment chosen for the procedure—the drawing remains visible as a guide without visually dominating the result.
  • For skin with a warm or olive undertone, a warmer shade from the Biotek range usually provides a preview closer to the final result than Ash Blond, which is calibrated for cool undertones.
  • Always use a cosmetic sharpener, not a regular office one—the latter's blade is too aggressive and can crack the waxy lead.
  • Keep a spare pencil in the same shade on hand, especially on days with multiple clients scheduled, so you don't run out mid-session.
  • Store the pencil away from heat sources (work lamp, direct sunlight)—the waxy base can soften and lose precision.
Warning: The pencil comes into direct contact with the client's skin, so treat it like any reusable pre-drawing instrument: sharpen it before each client (the used part is removed by sharpening) and disinfect the exterior surface between uses. Do not use it on irritated, damaged, or infected skin. Follow the standard hygiene protocol of your studio (gloves, disinfecting the work area) throughout the consultation and procedure.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is the Biotek Ash Blond 106 pencil used for?

It is used for pre-drawing and mapping the shape of the eyebrows before a permanent micropigmentation procedure: the artist draws the shape on the skin, adjusts symmetry, and obtains the client's approval before starting the pigmentation. It can also be used for lip contouring or establishing the eyeliner line in other facial PMU procedures.

Why can't I use a regular cosmetic pencil instead of a PMU-specific one?

Regular cosmetic pencils typically contain silicones and oils that can leave residues on the skin, melt more easily under the heat of the working lamp, wipe off when in contact with the disinfectant or anesthetic solutions used during the procedure, and their tip is often too soft for fine lines. Biotek pencils are specially formulated to last throughout the entire procedure.

Is the Ash Blond 106 shade suitable for olive skin?

It is calibrated for light skin with a cool undertone. On olive or darker skin, a warmer shade from the Biotek range—for example, Mud Blond 107 or Smoked Brown 108—usually provides a preview closer to the final result.

How do I properly sharpen the Biotek pencil?

With a cosmetic sharpener, preferably with a stainless steel blade, holding it at an angle that leaves a fine, but not so thin that it breaks, tip. Regular office sharpeners have a blade that is too aggressive for the waxy lead and can crack the pencil. Sharpening is recommended before each client.

How do I remove the lines drawn with the pencil at the end?

The formula resists water and the cleaning/disinfecting solutions used during the procedure, but is easily removed with an oil-based makeup remover applied at the end of the work.

Can the pencil be reused from one client to another?

The pencil body can be reused, but the tip that has been in contact with the skin must be removed by sharpening before the next client, and the exterior of the pencil disinfected—just like any other reusable instrument in the studio.

Product description

They are the first cosmetic pencils specially designed for the preparatory drawing of permanent makeup. Compatible with permanent makeup, they are made with the same safe and non-toxic, hypoallergenic and nickel-free Biotek pigments. The 16 shades are exactly like the Biotek pigment range and can be used with maximum safety in the pre-procedure consultation phase. The Biotek Ash Blond 106 pencil is a pre-drawing and mapping instrument for permanent micropigmentation (PMU), manufactured by Biotek Italy — one of the world leaders in PMU equipment and pigments. The Ash Blond shade (106) is a cool-toned ashy blonde, perfectly calibrated for clients with fair skin and cool undertones, natural blonde or graying hair. The pencil is formulated with high-purity cosmetic pigments suspended in a waxy base that allows tracing of fine, precise lines on skin without melting or migrating during the procedure. The sharpened tip with medium hardness provides maximum control when mapping eyebrow shapes, allowing the PMU artist to trace individual strokes thinner than 1mm. The formula is resistant to water and cleaning solutions used throughout the procedure, but removes easily with oil-based makeup remover at completion. Unlike regular cosmetic pencils, Biotek 106 is specifically designed for the PMU environment: it contains no ingredients that could interfere with pigment absorption into the skin, leaves no greasy residue that would impede stencil adhesion, and does not degrade under the halogen light of work lamps. The Biotek range includes 12 shades calibrated for different skin and hair tones, from ashy blonde to intense black, through reds and browns. Ash Blond 106 is the base shade for 60% of European clients with skin phototype I-III. The indispensable instrument for any professional PMU artist who demands pre-drawing precision.
