Guide & full description

Complete guide: Creion Biotek Mud Blond 107

The Biotek Mud Blond 107 pencil is a cosmetic pre-drawing tool used by micropigmentation artists to sketch the shape of eyebrows before procedures such as microblading, powder brows, or ombre brows. The Mud Blond 107 shade has a warm, golden-brown undertone, suitable for clients with warm skin (peach, gold, ivory) and medium blonde to honey blonde hair. As the second tone in the Biotek blonde range, it sits between Ash Blond 106 (cool) and Smoked Brown 108 (neutral-dark), offering the artist a complete palette to choose the exact tone for each client. The product is made by Biotek in Italy, in compliance with EC Regulation 1223/2009.

How to use

  1. Sharpen the pencil to a fine tip — the medium-hardness waxy formula allows lines under 1mm, necessary to simulate individual eyebrow hairs.
  2. Clean and disinfect the eyebrow area before starting the guide drawing.
  3. Draw the desired shape directly on the skin, checking symmetry against the client's anatomical landmarks.
  4. Visually compare the shade with the skin tone — for warm skin (greenish veins on the wrist), Mud Blond 107 is the right choice.
  5. Correct any lines you don't like with a little oil-based makeup remover, without affecting the rest of the drawing.
  6. Let the client see the shape in the mirror and get their confirmation before moving on to the actual micropigmentation procedure.
  7. At the end of the procedure, completely remove any pencil marks with oil-based makeup remover or professional cleaning wipes.
  8. Sharpen the tip again before using the pencil on another client, to remove the layer that touched the previous skin.

Tips from us

  • To choose between 106 and 107, look at the veins on the inside of the client's wrist: blue veins = cool skin = 106 Ash Blond, green veins = warm skin = 107 Mud Blond, ambiguous veins = both work.
  • If drawing a guide for eyeliner, consider a darker shade (108 Smoked Brown or 109 Extreme Brun) — Mud Blond 107 is too light for good visibility on the eyelid area.
  • Do not use Mud Blond 107 for pre-drawing lips — it is too light for a realistic preview; Biotek has dedicated shades (110, 111, 113, 114, 116).
  • Always keep the tip well-sharpened — a blunt tip thickens the line and makes the simulation of individual hairs less realistic.
  • Have oil-based makeup remover on hand for quick corrections and final cleaning — the formula leaves no greasy film and wipes off completely.
  • Store the pencil closed, away from direct heat — being a waxy formula, high temperatures can affect its consistency.
Warning: The Biotek 107 pencil is a surface cosmetic product, used exclusively for guide drawing on the skin — it is not a micropigmentation pigment and is not implanted into the dermis. Sharpen the tip separately for each client to remove the layer that came into contact with the previous skin and prevent cross-contamination. Avoid applying to irritated skin, open lesions, or immediately after aggressive hair removal. The formula is described by the manufacturer as hypoallergenic and nickel-free, but if the client has a history of skin sensitivities, test it on a small area before the procedure. As a regulated cosmetic product (EC Regulation 1223/2009), follow the hygiene rules applicable to any instrument that comes into contact with the skin of multiple clients.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Biotek 106 Ash Blond and 107 Mud Blond?

The difference is in the color temperature: 106 Ash Blond has a cool, ashy undertone, suitable for cool skin (pink, porcelain), while 107 Mud Blond has a warm, golden-brown undertone, suitable for warm skin (peach, golden ivory). The practical rule: look at the veins on the inside of the client's wrist — blue veins indicate cool skin (choose 106), green veins indicate warm skin (choose 107), and if the veins are hard to categorize, both shades work.

What PMU procedures is Mud Blond 107 suitable for?

It is mainly used for pre-drawing eyebrows in microblading, powder brows, nano brows, combo brows, and ombre brows, on clients with medium blonde to light brown hair. It can also serve as a guide line for upper eyeliner, but for eyeliner most artists prefer darker shades (108 Smoked Brown or 109 Extreme Brun) because they are more visible on the eyelid area.

Does the pencil leave marks on the skin after the procedure?

No — Mud Blond 107 is completely removed at the end with oil-based makeup remover or professional cleaning wipes. The waxy formula sits on the skin's surface, does not penetrate, so it leaves no permanent marks. If fine traces remain after cleaning, you can go over with a little oil (coconut or mineral) and a cotton pad; any visible trace disappears completely with healing, if the skin was slightly irritated by the procedure.

Can I use Biotek 107 for lip contour as well?

Technically possible, but not ideal — it is too light a shade for a realistic preview of the result for lip blush, lip liner, or full lip. For lips, Biotek has dedicated shades: 110 Pompeian Red, 111 Intense Rose, 113 Cherry Red, 114 Scarlet Rose, and 116 Antique Rose — chosen according to the natural lip color and the final pigment selected for the procedure.

Is Biotek 107 water-resistant?

It is not strictly classified as waterproof, but it has good resistance: it does not smudge upon contact with topical anesthetic solutions, chlorhexidine-based disinfectants, or moderate perspiration. However, it does not withstand repeated rubbing with a wet material, immersion in water, or oil-based solutions — in fact, oil is intentionally used to remove it at the end. Practically, the lines remain visible throughout a standard 2-3 hour procedure without needing to be redrawn.

What line thickness can I achieve with this pencil?

With a freshly sharpened tip, you can achieve lines of 0.3–0.5 mm — fine enough to simulate individual eyebrow hairs in microblading or combo brows techniques. As the tip dulls, the line thickens, so for fine drawing, sharpen it often.

Product description

They are the first cosmetic pencils specially designed for the preparatory drawing of permanent makeup. Compatible with permanent makeup, they are made with the same safe and non-toxic, hypoallergenic and nickel-free Biotek pigments. The 16 shades are exactly like the Biotek pigment range and can be used with maximum safety in the pre-procedure consultation phase. The Biotek Mud Blond 107 pencil is a professional pre-drawing instrument for permanent micropigmentation, manufactured by Biotek Italy, in a warm blonde shade with a golden-brown undertone. Code 107 represents the second tone in the Biotek blonde range, positioned between Ash Blond 106 (cool) and Smoked Brown 108 (neutral-dark), offering a warm option for clients with warm skin undertones — peach, golden, or ivory complexions with warm nuances. The medium-hardness waxy formula allows tracing of fine lines under 1mm on skin, essential for simulating individual eyebrow strokes in the pre-drawing technique. High-purity cosmetic pigments resist throughout the entire PMU procedure without wiping off on contact with anesthetic solutions, disinfectants, or perspiration. Mud Blond 107 is the preferred shade for clients with medium blonde, honey blonde, or golden blonde hair — it provides a warm, natural pre-draw that faithfully simulates the final micropigmentation result. Unlike standard cosmetic pencils that melt and migrate on skin heated by halogen lamps, Biotek 107 maintains dimensional stability throughout the 2-3 hour procedure. The pencil contains no ingredients that interfere with pigment absorption, leaves no greasy film, and removes completely with oil-based makeup remover. Indispensable in the kit of any PMU artist working with diverse European clientele. Made in Italy, compliant with CE Regulation 1223/2009. Frequently Asked Questions
