The Biotek Mud Blond 107 pencil is a cosmetic pre-drawing tool used by micropigmentation artists to sketch the shape of eyebrows before procedures such as microblading, powder brows, or ombre brows. The Mud Blond 107 shade has a warm, golden-brown undertone, suitable for clients with warm skin (peach, gold, ivory) and medium blonde to honey blonde hair. As the second tone in the Biotek blonde range, it sits between Ash Blond 106 (cool) and Smoked Brown 108 (neutral-dark), offering the artist a complete palette to choose the exact tone for each client. The product is made by Biotek in Italy, in compliance with EC Regulation 1223/2009.
What is the difference between Biotek 106 Ash Blond and 107 Mud Blond?▾
The difference is in the color temperature: 106 Ash Blond has a cool, ashy undertone, suitable for cool skin (pink, porcelain), while 107 Mud Blond has a warm, golden-brown undertone, suitable for warm skin (peach, golden ivory). The practical rule: look at the veins on the inside of the client's wrist — blue veins indicate cool skin (choose 106), green veins indicate warm skin (choose 107), and if the veins are hard to categorize, both shades work.
What PMU procedures is Mud Blond 107 suitable for?▾
It is mainly used for pre-drawing eyebrows in microblading, powder brows, nano brows, combo brows, and ombre brows, on clients with medium blonde to light brown hair. It can also serve as a guide line for upper eyeliner, but for eyeliner most artists prefer darker shades (108 Smoked Brown or 109 Extreme Brun) because they are more visible on the eyelid area.
Does the pencil leave marks on the skin after the procedure?▾
No — Mud Blond 107 is completely removed at the end with oil-based makeup remover or professional cleaning wipes. The waxy formula sits on the skin's surface, does not penetrate, so it leaves no permanent marks. If fine traces remain after cleaning, you can go over with a little oil (coconut or mineral) and a cotton pad; any visible trace disappears completely with healing, if the skin was slightly irritated by the procedure.
Can I use Biotek 107 for lip contour as well?▾
Technically possible, but not ideal — it is too light a shade for a realistic preview of the result for lip blush, lip liner, or full lip. For lips, Biotek has dedicated shades: 110 Pompeian Red, 111 Intense Rose, 113 Cherry Red, 114 Scarlet Rose, and 116 Antique Rose — chosen according to the natural lip color and the final pigment selected for the procedure.
Is Biotek 107 water-resistant?▾
It is not strictly classified as waterproof, but it has good resistance: it does not smudge upon contact with topical anesthetic solutions, chlorhexidine-based disinfectants, or moderate perspiration. However, it does not withstand repeated rubbing with a wet material, immersion in water, or oil-based solutions — in fact, oil is intentionally used to remove it at the end. Practically, the lines remain visible throughout a standard 2-3 hour procedure without needing to be redrawn.
What line thickness can I achieve with this pencil?▾
With a freshly sharpened tip, you can achieve lines of 0.3–0.5 mm — fine enough to simulate individual eyebrow hairs in microblading or combo brows techniques. As the tip dulls, the line thickens, so for fine drawing, sharpen it often.
