Guide & full description

Complete guide: Creion Biotek Pompeian Red 110

The Biotek Pompeian Red 110 pencil is a cosmetic pencil designed for preparatory drawing in permanent makeup (PMU), made with hypoallergenic, nickel-free Biotek pigments. Its shade is a warm red with a terracotta undertone, specially conceived for pre-drawing lip procedures — lip liner, lip blush, and full lip color — on clients with warm skin undertones. It is useful for the PMU artist during the consultation phase, before applying the final pigment, to establish together with the client the contour, shape, and intensity of the desired color.

How to use

  1. Sharpen the pencil tip to a medium hardness, allowing fine lines under 1 mm.
  2. Clean and disinfect the lip area according to the clinic's hygiene protocol before starting the drawing.
  3. Trace the natural lip contour, marking symmetry points and the Cupid's bow.
  4. For lip blush, slightly extend the line beyond the natural contour where a fullness effect is desired, then sketch a gradient from the edge toward the center to preview the color intensity.
  5. Show the result to the client in a mirror and adjust the shape, thickness, and symmetry until mutual agreement.
  6. Photograph the pre-drawing for reference during the micropigmentation procedure.
  7. At the end, remove pencil traces with an oil-based makeup remover.

Tips from us

  • On lips with darker natural pigmentation, the contrast of the warm red may be reduced; some artists first outline the contour with a white pencil, then add details with 110.
  • The Biotek range has 16 shades available — it is useful to have a cooler variant (e.g., Cherry Red 113) or a pinker one (Intense Rose 111) on hand for clients with different skin undertones.
  • A full-length pencil covers approximately 25–40 lip procedures, depending on how many gradients and symmetry marks you draw; it is useful to have two in stock as backup.
  • On oily skin or fine perioral wrinkles, a light dusting of translucent powder on the outer edge of the contour can help the line last longer during the procedure.
  • The waxy formula is designed not to interfere with the absorption of the final pigment, but still respect the fixation time recommended by you as an artist before starting the actual injection.
Warning: The pencil comes into direct contact with the client's skin, so hygiene remains the artist's responsibility: sharpen it with a clean, dedicated or disinfected sharpener between uses, and use it only on intact skin, not on damaged or irritated areas. Although the pigments are described by the manufacturer as hypoallergenic and nickel-free, check the client's allergy history before the procedure — no cosmetic product completely eliminates the risk of an individual reaction.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Pompeian Red 110 shade suitable for a natural lip blush?

Yes — the warm terracotta undertone provides a subtle intensifying effect on the natural lip color, not a dramatic red. Trace the contour slightly outside the natural line for a fullness feel, then sketch the gradient from the edge (more intense) toward the center (blended) for a preview.

What is the difference compared to Cherry Red 113 or Intense Rose 111?

110 Pompeian Red has a warm undertone (terracotta/golden) and is recommended on lips with peach-pink pigmentation and warm skin, for a more natural look. Cherry Red 113 has a cool undertone (blue-violet), for a more vibrant and dramatic red. Intense Rose 111 is the pinker variant. The choice depends on the client's skin undertone and the desired effect — natural vs. statement.

Can it also be used for pre-drawing eyebrows?

Yes, especially on clients with natural red hair (auburn, titian, copper), where the warm red shade faithfully simulates the hair tone and offers a realistic preview before micropigmentation.

How is the pencil cleaned and maintained between uses?

Sharpen it with a clean, dedicated or disinfected sharpener, and remove traces from the client's skin with an oil-based makeup remover at the end of the consultation. Since it touches the skin directly, treat it like any contact instrument — sanitize at every appointment.

How many procedures does a single pencil cover?

Approximately 25–40 lip procedures, according to the manufacturer's indications. Consumption is higher than for eyebrows due to the larger drawing surface — contour, gradients, symmetry marks.

Does it work well on lips with naturally dark pigmentation?

It may be less visible on lips with brown-pink or brown-violet tones. In these cases, some artists first outline the contour with a white pencil and add details with 110, or choose a shade with more contrast, such as Cherry Red 113.

Product description

They are the first cosmetic pencils specially designed for the preparatory drawing of permanent makeup. Compatible with permanent makeup, they are made with the same safe and non-toxic, hypoallergenic and nickel-free Biotek pigments. The 16 shades are exactly like the Biotek pigment range and can be used with maximum safety in the pre-procedure consultation phase. The Biotek Pompeian Red 110 pencil is the first in the Biotek Italy red range, specially designed for pre-drawing PMU lip procedures — lip blush, lip liner, and full lip color. The Pompeian Red shade is a warm, classic red with a terracotta undertone, inspired by the deep reds of ancient Pompei frescoes. This is the reference shade for warm-undertone lips: it works excellently on lips with natural pink-peach pigmentation, on clients with warm skin tones, and on lips with naturally well-defined contours. The pencil allows the PMU artist to precisely trace the lip contour, define Cupid's bow, and sketch the color gradient for lip blush — all before touching the pigment. The client can thus visualize the final result and request adjustments to shape, thickness, and symmetry. The Biotek-specific waxy formula resists throughout the procedure without migrating into fine perioral wrinkles, does not interfere with pigment absorption, and removes completely with oil-based makeup remover. Pompeian Red 110 distinguishes itself from cooler shades (Cherry Red 113) and pinker ones (Intense Rose 111) through its natural warmth — it pulls neither violet nor orange. It is the safe choice shade for 70% of lip procedures on fair to medium-toned clients. Manufactured in Italy by Biotek S.r.l., dermatologically tested, CE 1223/2009 compliant, cruelty-free.
