Guide & full description

Complete guide: Creion Biotek Venetian Red 112

This Biotek Venetian Red 112 pencil is a cosmetic pre-drawing tool, used by micropigmentation artists to sketch the outline of a procedure on the skin — for example, lip liner or full lip color — before actually starting the permanent makeup procedure. Shade 112 is a balanced Venetian red, positioned exactly between the terracotta warmth of 110 Pompeian Red and the cool cherry of 113 Cherry Red, designed to work on a wide range of skin tones. It is suitable for PMU artists (microblading, micropigmentation, permanent makeup) who need an accurate color preview before the procedure — not a tool for classic tattooing or home use.

How to use

  1. Clean and disinfect the working area (e.g., the lip contour) according to your usual pre-procedure hygiene protocol before drawing.
  2. Sharpen the pencil before each new client to expose a fresh wax/pigment surface — an essential hygiene step when the same tool is reused on different clients.
  3. Test the shade on a small surface (e.g., a tissue) to see what the red 112 looks like in the studio light before drawing on the client.
  4. Trace the desired contour directly on the skin, using the medium hardness of the wax formula for fine and precise lines.
  5. For an ombré effect, apply 112 more intensely on the contour and blend inward, possibly combining with a lighter shade from the range for the central area.
  6. Show the drawing to the client and adjust it according to their feedback before starting the actual micropigmentation procedure.
  7. Once the drawing is approved, you can continue with the standard procedure steps — the formula does not interfere with pigment absorption.
  8. Finally, clean the tip, put the cap on, and store the pencil in a dry place away from heat, as it is a wax formula.

Tips from us

  • For intense lip pre-drawing with chromatic depth, 112 is the right choice; for a more natural and subtle result, you need a lighter shade from the Biotek range.
  • For an ombré lip effect, combine 112 on the contour (more intense) with a lighter shade for the central area, blending the transition.
  • Works optimally on neutral and warm skin; on very fair skin with cool undertones, the visual preview may differ from the final pigment result.
  • Sharpen the tip regularly — both for fine lines and to always have a clean surface in contact with the skin.
  • Do not use it for classic body tattooing — it is designed exclusively for cosmetic pre-drawing in PMU procedures.
  • Keep the pencil away from heat sources, as the wax formula can soften.
Warning: It is a cosmetic product (according to EC 1223/2009), intended exclusively for preparatory drawing on intact skin, not for injection or tattooing. Because it comes into direct contact with the skin of multiple clients, sharpen the tip before each new use to expose a clean surface. Avoid applying to irritated, damaged, or sensitized skin. It is dermatologically tested and nickel-free, which reduces the risk of allergic reaction, but on very sensitive skin clients, a preliminary test on a small area remains a useful precaution.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Venetian Red 112 and the other reds in the Biotek range (110 and 113)?

112 Venetian Red is a balanced red, situated exactly between the two: 110 Pompeian Red leans towards orange/terracotta, 113 Cherry Red leans towards purple/cool, and 112 has no chromatic extreme — it is the most versatile red in the range, suitable for the widest variety of skin tones.

What skin type does this pencil work best on?

Best on neutral and warm skin, phototype II-IV. On very fair skin with cool undertones, 112 may appear visually too warm — in this case, 113 Cherry Red provides a more accurate preview of the final result.

Can the Biotek pencil be used on multiple clients or is it single-use?

It is not marked as a consumable product, so it is not intended as a single-use item — it can be reused on several clients. However, good hygiene practices require sharpening the tip before each new client, to always have a fresh surface in contact with the skin.

How long does the drawing made with this pencil last during the procedure?

The Biotek wax formula, with medium hardness, lasts through a 2-3 hour procedure and does not interfere with pigment absorption during micropigmentation.

Can I use this pencil for regular tattooing as well, not just PMU?

No, it is not designed for this purpose. It is a cosmetic pre-drawing pencil for permanent makeup (PMU), not a marker for body tattooing — for classic tattooing, surgical markers or dedicated transfer stencils are used.

How do I choose between 112 and other shades for an ombré effect on lips?

A common technique: trace the outer contour with 112 (the more intense shade), then fill the central area with a lighter shade from the Biotek range, blending the transition for a realistic gradient that shows the client what the final result will look like.

Product description

They are the first cosmetic pencils specially designed for the preparatory drawing of permanent makeup. Compatible with permanent makeup, they are made with the same safe and non-toxic, hypoallergenic and nickel-free Biotek pigments. The 16 shades are exactly like the Biotek pigment range and can be used with maximum safety in the pre-procedure consultation phase. The Biotek Venetian Red 112 pencil is a PMU pre-drawing instrument in a Venetian red shade — a deep, sophisticated red with a slightly dusty warm undertone, inspired by the classic red pigments of the Venetian Renaissance. This is the perfect intermediate shade between Pompeian Red 110 (warm terracotta red) and Cherry Red 113 (cool cherry red), offering a balanced red that works across a wide range of skin tones. Venetian Red 112 is chosen by PMU artists who want a sophisticated lip pre-draw with chromatic depth — not as orange as 110, not as violet as 113, but a true classic red. It is particularly suited for full lip color and defined lip liner procedures, where the client wants an elegant red, not a pink or coral. The Biotek waxy formula with medium hardness allows tracing fine lines on the lip contour, resists throughout the 2-3 hour procedure, and does not interfere with pigment absorption. The shade works optimally on neutral and warm skin, phototype II-IV, and on clients with medium-pink natural lip pigmentation. For very fair skin with cool undertones, 113 Cherry Red may provide a more faithful preview. Manufactured by Biotek Italy, CE 1223/2009 compliant, dermatologically tested, cruelty-free. A refined pencil for PMU artists with developed aesthetic sense. Frequently Asked Questions
