Guide & full description

Complete guide: Ultimate Beauty Waterproof Black/Brown No3 Eyebrow Pencil - For Professional Brow Mapping

This Ultimate Beauty mapping pencil, in the shade Waterproof Black/Brown No3, is used by PMU artists to draw and mark eyebrows on the client's skin before microblading and micropigmentation procedures. Shade No3 is intermediate between pure black (No1) and classic brown (No2) — a warm black-brown, suitable especially for clients with naturally dark brown or chestnut eyebrows and warm undertone skin, where a visible but harmonious guideline is desired. The waterproof formula resists sweat, sebum, and the topical anesthetic creams used during the procedure, so the mapping drawing remains visible throughout the work. In addition to microblading, the pencil is also useful for marking the skin before dermaplaning, laser treatments, or microneedling.

How to use

Clean and degrease the client's eyebrow area before starting the mapping, to remove residual makeup and sebum.
Sharpen the pencil with a standard cosmetic sharpener, for a fine tip suitable for drawing individual hairs.
Lightly sketch the shape and symmetry of the eyebrows using facial reference points before drawing the final outline.
Draw the final mapping outline with constant pressure — the line is designed to last throughout the procedure, including after applying anesthetic cream.
Show the mapping result to the client before starting the actual micropigmentation, for confirmation and possible adjustments.
At the end of the procedure, remove any remaining traces from the skin with an oil-based makeup remover.

Tips from us

Choose shade No3 for clients with naturally dark brown/black-brown eyebrows and warm undertone skin — for a harmonious mapping result, not strongly contrasting.
For fine lines, sharpen the pencil often; a blunt tip gives thicker, less precise lines for drawing individual hairs.
If working on very oily skin or before a strong anesthetic cream, quickly test the line's resistance on a small area before starting the full mapping.
Keep the pencil capped and away from direct heat, to prevent the lead from drying out or deforming.
If working with multiple shades from the range (No1, No2, No3...), label them clearly to avoid confusion during the procedure.

Warning: Use the pencil only on intact and clean skin; avoid direct contact with eyes and mucous membranes. As with any reusable instrument that touches the skin of multiple clients, proper hygiene matters: disinfect the pencil body between uses and sharpen the tip before each new client, to expose a fresh lead surface. If a client shows irritation, redness, or an allergic reaction, stop use and recommend a dermatological consultation. The mapping pencil does not replace the standard hygiene protocol of the micropigmentation procedure — gloves, protective barriers, skin disinfection.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between shade No3 and the other colors in the range (No1, No2)?▾

No3 is an intermediate shade — a warm black with a visible brown undertone, positioned between pure black (No1) and classic brown (No2). It is recommended for clients with naturally dark brown or black-brown eyebrows and warm undertone skin, where you want a visible but natural guideline, not strongly contrasting.

Do the pencil lines resist the anesthetic creams used during the procedure?▾

Yes, the waterproof formula is designed to resist sweat, sebum, and the application/removal of topical anesthetic creams, so the mapping lines remain visible throughout the entire procedure.

Can the pencil be used for something other than microblading?▾

Yes — in addition to eyebrow mapping for microblading and micropigmentation, the pencil can be used to mark the skin before dermaplaning, laser treatments, or microneedling.

How do I sharpen the pencil and what do I do if the tip dulls quickly?▾

It is sharpened with a standard cosmetic sharpener. A freshly sharpened tip gives finer lines, suitable for drawing individual hairs; if you work with greater pressure or on textured skin, sharpen it more often to maintain line precision.

Can the same pencil be used on multiple clients?▾

As with any reusable instrument that touches the skin, proper hygiene means disinfecting the pencil body between clients and sharpening the tip before each new use, to always expose a fresh lead surface and reduce the risk of cross-contamination. If you work with a high volume of clients or have a strict hygiene protocol, you can consider a dedicated pencil per client.

Which micropigmentation pigment shades does No3 visually match?▾

The black-brown shade of No3 visually approximates pigments in the dark brown/black-brown range, which helps you roughly preview the final result as early as the mapping phase. The exact pigment choice remains at the artist's discretion, depending on the skin tone and the client's desired outcome.

These versatile pencils allow you to create perfect brow pre-draws before microblading procedures or other brow treatments. They’re also great for marking your client’s skin before dermaplaning, laser treatments, or micro-needling. Count on durable marks every time that don’t fade. These pencils create marks that can withstand a lot of wiping during procedures, so you can perform with precision and control for best results. Technical Specifications: Brow mapping pencils Can also be used to mark the skin for dermaplaning, micro-needling, and laser treatments Creates lasting marks that withstand wiping Comes in a variety of color options Made by Ultimate Beauty Price per one pencil The Ultimate Beauty Waterproof Black/Brown No3 Eyebrow Pencil is a professional pre-drawing pencil with a unique warm black-brown shade, positioned between pure black (No1) and classic brown (No2) in the Ultimate Beauty range. This intermediate shade is ideal for artists who want visible guide lines harmonized with the client's natural eyebrow tone — especially for brunettes with warm undertones and clients with dark auburn or chestnut hair. In micropigmentation, No3 is the preferred pencil when the artist wants mapping lines to visually suggest the final result, as the black-brown shade closely matches the most commonly used pigment colors (Dark Brown, Ebony Brown). The waterproof formula ensures resistance throughout the procedure against perspiration, sebum, and topical anesthesia creams. The lead produces fine lines of 0.2-0.5mm, ideal for tracing individual hair strokes in microblading mapping. The formulation is dermatologically tested, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, safe for the periocular and perioral area. The ergonomic pencil shape offers precise control. It sharpens with a standard cosmetic sharpener and removes easily with oil-based makeup remover. No3 is the most versatile shade in the range — it works across a wide range of skin tones (Fitzpatrick II-V) and harmonizes with most natural eyebrow colors. An essential instrument for PMU artists who work with diverse clients and desire natural, not contrasting, mapping. Frequently Asked Questions
