Guide & full description

Complete guide: Vitamins A & D Ointment 120ml

It is a skin protection ointment based on vitamins A and D, in a base of white petrolatum with lanolin, in a 120 ml container from Dynarex. It is mainly used as aftercare for fresh tattoos, but also for protecting minor cuts, scrapes, and mild skin irritations. In a studio setting, it can also be used as a piercing needle lubricant. The 120 ml format is designed for studio use, from which portions are dispensed for multiple clients.

How to use

Wash your hands and clean the fresh tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild or antibacterial soap, without scrubbing.
Gently pat the area with a clean paper towel and allow it to dry completely before application.
Take a small amount on a clean finger (or in the studio, with a spatula or gloved hand) and spread a very thin layer, just enough to give a slight sheen.
Wipe off any excess with a clean tissue — a thick layer suffocates the skin and sticks to clothing.
Repeat 2-3 times a day, always on clean, dry skin, for the entire healing period recommended by your artist.
For studio use, portion individually for each client to avoid touching the container with contaminated hands or tools.
For external use only; do not apply inside open wounds or on severe injuries.

Tips from us

Always a thin layer: as an occlusive petrolatum-based ointment, too much product blocks the skin and slows the natural drying of the tattoo.
Do not dip fingers directly into the container — scoop out the product with a clean spatula or gloved hand to keep the contents uncontaminated for clients.
If you or the client have reactive skin, first test tolerance to lanolin (the ointment contains it) on a small patch of skin.
Keep the container closed, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Reapply on clean skin, not over the old ointment layer.

Warning: For external use only. The ointment contains lanolin, so people with a lanolin allergy should avoid it and choose a lanolin-free alternative. Apply only to intact skin or minor injuries, not on deep wounds or severe burns. The product is not an antiseptic and does not replace medical advice — if signs of infection appear (spreading redness, swelling, discharge, throbbing pain, or fever), stop use and consult a doctor.

Frequently asked questions

How long and how often should I apply the cream on a new tattoo?▾

Generally, apply a thin layer 2-3 times a day on washed and dried skin for the entire superficial healing period (about two weeks). The golden rule is 'less is more' — a thick layer does more harm than good. Always follow your artist's instructions, as each tattoo and skin type behaves differently.

Does it contain lanolin? What if I have sensitive skin?▾

Yes, the formula has a base of white petrolatum with lanolin. Lanolin deeply moisturizes, but some people are allergic to it. If you know you react to wool/lanolin or have very sensitive skin, test on a small area first or choose a lanolin-free aftercare option.

Can I also use this ointment for piercings?▾

Yes, in addition to tattoo aftercare, the product is used in studios as a piercing needle lubricant and for protecting scrapes and minor skin irritations. In all cases, it remains for external use only.

Is it suitable for the face, PMU, or microblading?▾

Being an occlusive petrolatum-based ointment, many artists prefer lighter products for the face area, as a thick layer can clog pores. If you use it on the face, apply a very thin layer and follow the PMU/microblading artist's recommendations exactly.

How do I keep the 120 ml container hygienic in the studio?▾

Do not touch the product directly with your fingers. Portion for each client using a disposable spatula or clean glove, keep the lid closed between uses, and store at room temperature. This avoids cross-contamination and keeps the ointment clean throughout its use.

How long does a 120 ml container last?▾

It greatly depends on the size of the tattoos and how many clients you serve, but because it is applied in very thin layers, a 120 ml container is a 'studio' format that lasts a long time. The actual consumption per tattoo is small, so do not waste it with thick layers.
