Guide & full description

Complete guide: Vitamins A & D Ointment 30ml

A protective ointment with vitamins A and D, in a compact 30 ml format, designed for the care of freshly tattooed skin. It is used both during the session to lubricate the worked area and at home throughout the healing process. It is useful for both the artist — who can offer it to the client at the end of the session — and the tattooed person caring for their own tattoo. The formula from Dynarex is based on white petrolatum, with vitamins A and D, and is intended for external use only.

How to use

Gently wash the tattooed area with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap, then pat it dry with a clean paper towel.
Ensure the skin is completely dry before application — moisture trapped under the ointment can promote irritation.
Take a small amount of cream with clean hands or a clean glove to avoid contaminating the container.
Spread a very thin layer, just enough to cover the tattoo with a fine sheen; excess ointment suffocates the skin and slows healing.
Repeat application 2-3 times a day, usually after each washing of the area.
Continue care throughout the entire tattoo healing period (generally about two to three weeks), until the skin is no longer dry or peeling.
Use the product only externally on the skin; do not apply it to mucous membranes and do not ingest it.

Tips from us

Always apply a thin layer — more product does not mean faster healing, but rather suffocated skin and clogged pores.
Close the container tightly after each use and store it at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat.
If you have sensitive skin, first test a small amount on a discreet area before using it on the entire tattoo — the formula contains lanolin.
For artists: the 30 ml format is easy to offer to a single client at the end of the session, together with clear verbal care instructions.
Do not share the same container among multiple people and avoid touching the cream directly with dirty fingers to prevent cross-contamination.
Combine application with the basic rules of healing: loose clothing over the tattoo, no swimming pool, sauna, or direct sun exposure until healed.

Warning: The product is intended for external use only. The formula contains lanolin, an ingredient that may trigger reactions in allergic individuals — if intense redness, itching, or irritation beyond normal healing occurs, stop application. Always apply with clean hands or a glove and do not insert dirty fingers into the container to avoid contamination. The ointment cares for the skin but does not replace medical advice: if you suspect an infection (increasing pain, discharge, swelling, or fever), consult a doctor.

Frequently asked questions

What does the vitamin A and D cream contain and what is it for?▾

It is an ointment based on white petrolatum, enriched with vitamins A and D. Its main role is to lubricate and protect the damaged skin during and after the tattooing procedure, while also helping to soothe minor irritations and dry skin. It is not an anesthetic and does not contain numbing substances.

How do I choose between this cream and a lanolin-free version?▾

This formula contains lanolin, a derivative that helps with hydration, but to which some people are allergic. If you or the client have a history of sensitivity to wool or lanolin, it is safer to opt for a lanolin-free aftercare. If you have no such known sensitivity, you can do a quick test on a small area of skin before using it on the whole tattoo.

How do I keep the cream hygienic so it does not become contaminated?▾

Always take the product with washed hands or a clean glove and do not touch the rest of the cream with fingers that have been on the tattoo. Close the container tightly immediately after use and store it at room temperature, away from sun and moisture. Ideally, a 30 ml container is used by one person for a single healing process.

How long should I apply the cream after getting my tattoo?▾

Generally, a tattoo heals on the surface in about two to three weeks. Apply the ointment in a thin layer 2-3 times a day, after each washing, until the skin is no longer dry and is no longer peeling. If the area remains very dry after this period, you can continue with occasional moisturizing.

Can I use the product for a piercing as well?▾

Yes, the ointment can be used as a lubricant and protector in the piercing area as well, also for external use. Apply a very small amount and follow the general hygiene rules: clean hands and no unnecessary touching of the fresh area.

Is the 30 ml format enough for one tattoo?▾

The 30 ml format is a compact volume, designed for a single client. Applied correctly, in a thin layer, it usually covers the entire aftercare period of a small or medium tattoo. For very large pieces or multiple tattoos at once, a larger amount may be needed.
