Guide & full description

Complete guide: Electrum Nox Violet stencil 60ml

Electrum Nox Violet is a violet stencil solution developed by Electrum together with artist Natalie Nox for precise, long-lasting, hand-painted stencils. The intense violet provides good contrast on the skin, which is why it is appreciated by both tattoo artists for fine lines and piercers for accurate point marking. It comes in a 60 ml glass bottle with a dropper for controlled dosing, and is intended for external use only on intact skin.

How to use

  1. Clean and degrease the work area with a suitable disinfectant, then dry it completely — the solution adheres best to clean, dry skin.
  2. For stencils that last the entire session, first apply a thin layer of Electrum Stencil Primer or Gold Standard Stencil Primer and let it dry.
  3. Gently shake the bottle and dispense the violet solution with the dropper — you need very little amount.
  4. Draw the stencil directly on the skin, over the primer, using the freehand method; the same solution can also be used for transferring a thermal stencil.
  5. For precision markings (piercing or small, fine tattoos), fix the points drawn with a surgical marker by applying a little solution with a disposable cotton swab.
  6. Check the positioning and alignment of the markings with the client before starting.
  7. Let the marking dry completely, then begin the procedure.

Tips from us

  • Electrum Primer helps the solution absorb better into the skin, for a clearer and more durable stencil throughout the session.
  • Dose with the dropper: the consumption per application is small, so a 60 ml bottle lasts for many jobs.
  • The intense violet provides good contrast even on darker skin tones or when the studio light is low.
  • Close the bottle tightly after each use and store it at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.
  • If working with a client with sensitive skin, test on a small area first.
Warning: The product is intended for external use only on intact skin — do not use on irritated, wounded, or inflamed skin. Follow studio hygiene: apply the solution with disposable cotton swabs and do not touch the dropper to the skin or instruments to avoid contaminating the bottle. Do not use the same applicator between clients. Keep the product away from eyes and out of reach of children.

Frequently asked questions

How does Nox Violet differ from Electrum Gold?

According to Electrum, the two have different formulas designed for different purposes. Gold is optimized for adhesion and durability on large surfaces, so for full tattoo stencils and long sessions. Nox Violet emphasizes the visibility of marks on small surfaces, being designed for piercings and fine tattoos, and the intense violet provides better contrast on the skin than transparent solutions. Both are part of the Electrum premium range — you choose based on the type of work.

Is Nox Violet only for piercings?

No. Although the formula is optimized for piercings and small work, it also works as a regular stencil solution for tattoos of any size. Many artists use it as their main solution precisely because of the violet contrast, useful also for tattoos on dark skin or in low light.

Does it contain alcohol?

No — according to the manufacturer, Nox Violet does not contain alcohol, like all Electrum products. It is also vegan.

How is it used for marking a piercing?

Clean and disinfect the area, then dry it completely. Mark the entry/exit points with a surgical marker, then fix them by applying a little Nox Violet solution with a thin cotton swab — the violet intensifies the marks and keeps them visible even if the area is manipulated or wiped several times. Check the alignment with the client before proceeding.

Can it be used with thermal stencil paper?

Yes. According to Electrum's description, it works with usual stencil papers (Spirit, S8, Ozer, Unistar) and can be applied over Electrum Stencil Primer or Gold Standard Stencil Primer for better adhesion. It can also be used for hand-painted stencils directly on the skin.

How do I maintain hygiene and how long does a bottle last?

Apply the solution with disposable cotton swabs and do not touch the dropper to the skin to avoid contaminating the bottle; do not use the same applicator on different clients. Close the bottle tightly and keep it at room temperature, away from sunlight. Since you only use a few drops per job, a 60 ml bottle lasts for many applications — the manufacturer estimates approximately 4-8 months of use for a professional piercer.

Product description

Electrum Nox Violet stencil 60ml NOX Violet was formulated in collaboration with tattoo artist Natalie Nox, who is known for her elaborate hand painted stencils. Now you can enjoy the same formula she uses herself every day, to produce vibrant, long lasting and precise hand painted tattoo stencils. For extra long lasting stencils, apply a small layer of Electrum Stencil Primer or Gold Standard Stencil Primer to the clients skin and allow to dry. Paint with NOX Violet directly on top of Electrum for extra absorption into the dermis. NOX Violet is a violet blended pigment and is intended for external use only.60g glass bottle with dropper Electrum Nox Violet Stencil 60ml is the specialized transfer solution for piercings and small tattoos, with an intense violet formula developed by Electrum Supply for maximum visibility of precision markings. Nox Violet differentiates from Electrum Standard and Gold through its formulation optimized for applications where point-accurate precision is critical — piercing markings, small fine tattoos, and alignment references that need to be extremely visible on small skin areas. The intense violet color of the Nox Violet formula offers superior contrast on skin compared to standard solutions, making markings visible even on very dark skin or in suboptimal lighting conditions. The formula is optimized for fixing markings made with surgical skin markers and for small-size transfers requiring absolute clarity of every point and line. The 60ml (2 oz) bottle is the ideal format for professional piercers and tattoo artists frequently working with small pieces — compact, easy to handle, with sufficient quantity for hundreds of applications due to the small skin surfaces involved. Electrum Nox Violet is dermatologically tested, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, vegan, alcohol-free, and compatible with all skin types. The gentle formula does not irritate skin in the sensitive areas typical of piercings (tragus, septum, nipple, navel). It also works as a regular stencil solution for tattoos, offering excellent performance on Spirit, S8, Ozer, and Unistar sheets. Frequently Asked Questions
