Guide & full description

Complete guide: Black Stretch Film 25cm x 78m

The black stretch foil, 25 cm wide and 78 m long, is a basic consumable for hygienic protection of equipment in a tattoo or micropigmentation studio. Being self-adhesive, it wraps quickly around the grip, clip cord, cables, and other surfaces frequently touched during the session, creating a physical barrier against cross-contamination. The black color hides the inevitable ink and pigment stains during work, maintaining a clean and professional appearance of the workstation. It is useful for tattoo artists, PMU technicians, and cosmeticians.

How to use

  1. Prepare the workstation clean and disinfected before the client arrives, with the foil roll within reach.
  2. Tear or cut a piece of appropriate length, stretch it slightly, and wrap it tightly around the tattoo machine grip — the foil adheres to itself, without additional adhesive tape.
  3. Continue with the clip cord or RCA cable, wrapping in a spiral all the portion handled during work.
  4. Cover the other contact points as well: the power supply buttons, ink cups, spray bottles (distilled water, green soap), the lamp arm, and the edges of the work tray.
  5. Thanks to its flexibility, mold the foil onto irregular shapes (grips, lamp arms) by stretching it slightly during application, without tearing it.
  6. At the end of the session, completely remove all foil with gloves and dispose of it as contaminated waste.
  7. Clean and disinfect the equipment, then apply new foil for the next client.

Tips from us

  • Wrap with slight tension: the stretch foil adheres to previous layers through the natural self-adhesion of polyethylene, so a few overlapping turns hold securely without adhesive.
  • Do not confuse it with food wrap (cling film) — studio stretch foil is designed for clean adhesion and leaves no residue on equipment upon removal.
  • Estimate your consumption: a typical session uses approximately 1.5–2.5 m of foil, so the 78 m roll covers about 39 sessions at an average consumption of 2 m.
  • If you work in a studio with multiple artists and multiple sessions per day, order several rolls at once to avoid stock interruptions.
  • Cover everything you touch with gloves during work — including the phone or tablet used for reference — not just the machine and cable.
  • Keep the roll in a clean, dry place, away from dust, so the tear edge remains hygienic.
Warning: Non-sterile product, intended for equipment protection, not direct contact with the wound — for covering freshly tattooed skin, use dedicated care products. The foil is strictly single-use: it is completely removed after each client and disposed of as contaminated waste; reuse from one client to another is prohibited, being a fundamental rule for preventing cross-contamination. After removing the foil, clean and disinfect the equipment before applying a new layer.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose black foil over transparent?

Functionally, both provide the same protective barrier. However, the black foil has two advantages: it hides the ink, plasma, and pigment stains that inevitably appear during the session (on transparent foil these remain visible and can disturb the client) and gives the workstation a uniform, clean, and professional look. The only advantage of transparent foil is that it leaves buttons and equipment indicators visible without unwrapping the foil.

Which studio equipment should I protect with stretch foil?

Mandatory: the tattoo machine grip and the clip cord or RCA cable. Additionally recommended: the power supply buttons, the base and cap of ink cups, spray bottles (distilled water, green soap), the work lamp arm, the machine stand, the edges of the work tray, the phone or tablet used for reference, and generally any surface you frequently touch with gloves during the session.

How many sessions does a 78 m roll cover?

A typical session uses approximately 1.5–2.5 m of foil, depending on how extensive the protection is: grip plus clip cord around 1 m, power supply and spray bottles about 0.5 m, tray and miscellaneous another 0.5–1 m. At an average consumption of 2 m per session, the 78 m roll covers about 39 sessions. In an active studio with multiple artists, a roll can be used up in a few working days, so it's worth having reserves.

Does the foil leave adhesive residue on equipment?

No. Stretch foil adheres to itself through the natural self-adhesion of polyethylene — it contains no glue. Upon removal, the equipment remains clean, without residue, unlike adhesive tape. However, it is important to use professional studio stretch foil, not food wrap, which may leave slight marks.

Can I put the foil directly on a fresh tattoo, as a healing film?

It is not recommended: the product is non-sterile and intended for equipment protection, not direct contact with the wound. For covering and caring for freshly tattooed skin, use products dedicated to this purpose, according to your studio's practice.

Is the foil single-use?

Yes, strictly. It is completely removed after each client and disposed of as contaminated waste — it is never reused from one client to another, because protective barriers exist precisely to prevent cross-contamination. Between clients: remove all foil, clean and disinfect the equipment, then apply new foil.

Benefits: Safe protection after tattooing Self-adhesive – no additional tape required Flexible, durable and easy to apply material Black color – discreet with a professional appearance Generous dimensions: 25 cm width x 78 m length Also useful for cosmetic or clinical treatments An essential product for maintaining hygiene and protection of the treated area. Recommended for tattoo artists, PMU technicians and beauticians alike. Black stretch film 25cm x 78m is an essential studio consumable for tattoo and micropigmentation, used for hygienic covering of equipment, work surfaces, and cables during tattoo sessions. The black color offers the aesthetic advantage of blending discreetly into the studio environment — unlike transparent or white film, black film hides the ink stains and pigment marks inevitable during work. The 25cm width is the standard dimension optimized for wrapping machine grips, clip cords, power cables, and ink tubes. The 78-meter length provides significant autonomy: approximately 30-50 complete studio sessions, depending on the extent of protection applied. The stretch film adheres to itself without adhesive — it stretches, wraps, and sticks to previous layers through the natural self-adhesion property of polyethylene. This means it leaves no adhesive residue on equipment upon removal. The optimal thickness allows stretching without tearing yet sufficient flexibility to conform to irregular shapes (grips, brackets, lamp arms). Stretch film protection is a mandatory hygiene standard in any professional tattoo studio: it prevents cross-contamination by creating a physical barrier between equipment and biological fluids (blood, ink, plasma). It is completely replaced between clients. Non-sterile product, intended for equipment protection, not wound contact. Frequently Asked Questions
