Ghid complet: Hornet Butter 220 ml
A professional working and aftercare butter, based on natural ingredients — shea and mango butter, honey extract, calendula oil, sesame oil, beeswax and vitamin E — with a distinctive honey scent. You can use it in two ways: as a lubricant during the tattooing session, instead of classic petroleum jelly, or as an aftercare product in the days following the tattoo. Its soft yet stable texture prevents it from melting during work, and the generous 220 ml jar makes it suitable both for artists with a high workload and for clients who want a single product from session to healing.
Cum se folosește
- Before the session, use a disposable spatula to take the amount you need into a separate container (a cap or barrier film on a clean surface) — never work directly from the jar with your glove.
- Apply a thin layer on the area to be tattooed: it creates a sliding surface for the machine and helps cleanly wipe off excess pigment without mixing colors.
- Reapply in a thin layer throughout the session, whenever the skin dries out or wiping becomes uncomfortable — its texture is designed to remain stable at body and studio temperature.
- At the end of the session, clean the area according to your usual protocol and apply the protective barrier (film or bandage) you normally use.
- For aftercare: wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild soap, gently pat dry with a clean paper towel and let the skin air dry.
- Then apply a thin layer of Hornet Butter 2–3 times a day, gently massaging until absorbed — a thick layer suffocates the skin and does not help healing.
- Continue the routine throughout the healing phase, as long as the skin feels dry or tight, and close the jar tightly after each use.
Sfaturi de la noi
- The golden rule of application is 'little and often': a thin layer worked well into the skin does more than a thick one, both during the session and in aftercare.
- For impeccable hygiene in the studio, portion at the start of the day: a clean spatula, a single extraction from the jar per client, the rest remains sealed.
- The honey scent comes from the natural extract in the formula — an added comfort during long sessions compared to the neutral or chemical smell of petroleum jelly.
- Keep the jar tightly closed, in a cool place away from sunlight, to maintain its texture and properties for as long as possible.
- At a constant professional pace, the 220 ml jar can cover, approximately, between one and three months of use, depending on workload and tattoo size.
- If you also work with other products from the Hornet range, you can combine them — they all have the same honey scent and are designed to work together.
Întrebări frecvente
Can I use Hornet Butter instead of petroleum jelly during the session?▾
Yes, that is exactly one of the two roles of the product. It is applied in a thin layer on the work area, where it allows comfortable machine gliding and clean wiping of excess pigment without mixing colors. Unlike some work products, its texture remains stable and does not melt at body or studio temperature, so the work surface remains constant throughout the session.
Is it also good for tattoo aftercare after the session?▾
Yes, it is also designed as an aftercare product. After washing the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild soap and patting it dry, apply a thin layer 2–3 times a day. The ingredients in the formula — shea and mango butter for hydration, calendula and honey extract for skin soothing, vitamin E as an antioxidant — support skin comfort during healing.
How do I use it hygienically in the studio for multiple clients?▾
Never directly from the jar during work. Take the necessary portion with a disposable spatula into a cap or onto a clean barrier surface at the start of each session, and work only from that portion. What remains in the cap at the end of the session is discarded, not put back. This way the jar remains uncontaminated and can be safely used for subsequent clients.
Is it a vegan product?▾
Not strictly: it contains beeswax and honey extract, so it is not suitable for those who completely avoid animal-derived ingredients. The rest of the ingredients are plant-based, the product is not tested on animals and is manufactured in Spain, according to European standards for cosmetic products.
How long does a 220 ml jar last me?▾
It depends on how often you use it and the size of the work. For a studio with constant activity, approximately, one jar can cover between one and three months of regular use. For a client who buys it only for aftercare of a single tattoo, the amount is more than enough, with extra for later hydration of healed tattoos.
What does it smell like and does it bother during the session?▾
It has a natural honey scent, which comes from the honey extract in the formula. It is a subtle and pleasant fragrance that many artists and clients prefer over the neutral or slightly chemical smell of classic petroleum jelly, especially during long sessions. If the client is sensitive to smells, it is useful to let them know in advance that the product is naturally scented.
