Guide & full description
Complete guide: HORNET STENCIL HONEY 250ML
A professional stencil transfer gel, with a pleasant honey aroma, produced in Spain by Hornet. It helps you achieve a clear and stable transfer of the design onto the skin, with easy-to-read lines that last throughout the entire tattooing session. The 250 ml bottle with an anti-drip cap is designed for frequent studio use, and the formula is vegan. It is suitable for both experienced artists and beginners, as the application process is simple.
How to use
- Prepare the area: the skin must be clean, dry, and free of oils or lotions. On very oily skin, pre-degrease with isopropyl alcohol for better adhesion.
- Take a small amount of gel with a gloved hand or a disposable applicator — do not touch the bottle directly to the client's skin.
- Apply a thin, even layer to the skin, using circular and brisk motions.
- Place the stencil with the printed side onto the gel and press immediately, evenly, without moving it out of position.
- Wait approximately 2 minutes, then remove the stencil paper with a slow, steady motion.
- Let the transfer dry for another approximately 10 minutes before starting the tattoo.
- While working, tattoo from bottom to top and avoid excessive cleaning of the area so as not to wipe off the lines.
Tips from us
- A thin layer adheres better than a thick one — excess gel can blur the fine details of the stencil.
- Respect the waiting times (2 minutes under paper, then 10 minutes drying) — rushing is the most common cause of stencils that wipe off.
- Work from bottom to top so that your hand and the towel wiping do not repeatedly pass over the still-untattooed areas of the design.
- Close the anti-drip cap immediately after use — it keeps the workstation clean and prevents product waste.
- With normal consumption, using a thin layer per application, a 250 ml bottle can cover between 1 and 3 months of regular studio use, depending on the volume of clients and the size of the stencils.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a stencil applied with this gel last?▾
The formula is designed to keep the transfer stable throughout the entire tattooing session, without fading or wiping off, if you follow the application instructions: thin layer, 2 minutes under paper, 10 minutes drying. For maximum durability, work from bottom to top and avoid excessive wiping over still-untattooed lines.
How do I use the bottle hygienically when working with multiple clients?▾
Never touch the bottle mouth to the client's skin and do not put your fingers (even with a used glove) back into the product. Dispense the needed amount with a clean glove or a disposable applicator, apply it to the skin, and discard the applicator after each client. The anti-drip cap helps keep the bottle and workstation clean — close it immediately after use.
Does it work with any type of stencil — from thermal printer or hand-drawn on hectographic paper?▾
Yes, it is a classic transfer gel in terms of how it works: it is applied to the skin, and the stencil (whether thermally printed or hand-drawn on transfer paper) is pressed onto it. The gel-based formula is designed to preserve fine details and thin lines, so it works even with complex designs.
Is it vegan? Does it actually contain honey?▾
The product is vegan, not tested on animals, and manufactured in Spain according to European standards. 'Honey' refers to the distinctive honey fragrance of the Hornet range, which makes application more pleasant — the ingredient list provided by the manufacturer (water, propylene glycol, glycerin, alcohol, carbomer, Polyquaternium-7, and others) does not include actual honey.
Can I use it on any skin type?▾
Yes, it works on all skin types, provided the area is clean, dry, and free of oils or lotions. On very oily skin, pre-degreasing with isopropyl alcohol is recommended for better stencil adhesion.
I am a beginner — is this product suitable for me or only for studios?▾
It is a professional product, but the application method is simple and forgiving: thin layer, immediate stencil pressing, 2 minutes waiting, and 10 minutes drying. The 250 ml format is economical because very little is used per application, so it lasts a long time even with a small workload. First practice the transfer on a practice area (e.g., synthetic skin) until you get into the rhythm.
