Guide & full description
Complete guide: HORNET TATTOO CARE CREAM 40ML
A post-tattoo care cream with a 100% natural formula, based on beeswax, specially designed for freshly tattooed skin. It combines Shea butter and olive oil for hydration, calendula and vitamin E to support the skin during the regeneration period, all in a practical 40 ml tube with a pleasant honey scent. It is useful both for artists who want to offer their clients a reliable aftercare product at the end of the session, and for clients who care for their tattoo at home.
How to use
- Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before each application — clean hands are the first rule of caring for a fresh tattoo.
- Gently clean the tattooed area with lukewarm water and a mild soap (for example, one dedicated to tattoo care), then pat dry with a clean towel or disposable paper towel until dry.
- Dispense a small amount of cream from the tube — the tube format allows precise dosing without dipping your fingers into a jar.
- Apply a thin, even layer on clean, dry skin. Do not apply excessively: the skin needs to breathe.
- Repeat application 2–3 times a day, throughout the entire healing period of the tattoo.
- Continue the routine until the skin is fully healed; after healing, you can continue using a moisturizing cream to maintain the tattoo's appearance.
Tips from us
- Less is more: a thin layer provides enough hydration, while a thick layer can 'suffocate' the skin and slow down its recovery.
- As an artist, offer the tube to the client at the end of the session — the 40 ml format is easy to carry and shows care for the result of your work.
- One 40 ml tube roughly covers the complete care of a medium-sized tattoo over the typical healing period of 2–4 weeks, with application 2–3 times a day.
- You can build a complete routine by combining the cream with the other products from the Hornet range — Honey Soap for cleansing and Spray After Tattoo — for a coherent care system.
- Keep the tube closed, in a cool place away from sunlight, to maintain the texture and properties of the natural ingredients.
- During healing, avoid prolonged exposure of the tattoo to sun, pool or sauna — the cream hydrates, but does not replace these basic aftercare rules.
Frequently asked questions
What ingredients does the cream contain and why does each one matter?▾
The formula is 100% natural and contains Shea butter and olive oil for deep hydration, beeswax which forms a natural protective barrier on the skin, calendula known for its soothing properties, and vitamin E with an antioxidant role. The cream is manufactured in Spain, according to European standards for cosmetic products, and is not tested on animals.
How long does a 40 ml tube last?▾
As a guide, one 40 ml tube is sufficient for the complete care of a medium-sized tattoo over the typical healing period of 2–4 weeks, with the recommended application of 2–3 times per day. For very large tattoos or multiple pieces healing at the same time, consider a second tube.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?▾
Yes, the cream is formulated for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and the natural ingredients reduce the risk of irritation. However, every skin reacts differently: if you know you have allergies (especially to bee products, as the cream is beeswax-based), do a patch test on a small area before applying it to the fresh tattoo.
What is the difference compared to Hornet Butter and which one should I choose?▾
Tattoo Care Cream is a 40 ml tube cream with a lighter texture, specially designed as an aftercare in the days following the session — ideal to offer to the client. Hornet Butter is a thicker balm in a 220 ml jar that can also be used during tattooing as a working lubricant. For at-home care of the fresh tattoo, the cream is the natural choice; for studio use during the session, the balm.
How do I keep the product hygienic during use?▾
The tube format is the main advantage in terms of hygiene: you dispense exactly as much as you need without putting your fingers into the product, as you would with a jar. Wash your hands before each application, do not touch the tip of the tube to the tattooed skin, close the cap immediately after use, and do not share the tube with anyone else — a healing tattoo is a wound, and cross-contamination must be avoided.
Can I use the cream together with other care products?▾
Yes, the cream can be combined with the other products from the Hornet range for a complete routine: Hornet Honey Soap for gentle cleansing of the tattoo before application and Hornet Spray After Tattoo as an additional care step. All have the same characteristic honey scent. However, avoid layering multiple different creams or ointments on the fresh tattoo at the same time — a single moisturizing product, applied correctly, is sufficient.
