Guide & full description

Complete guide: Aluminum grip 22 mm *47mm

This is a compact aluminum alloy grip (handle) with a 22 mm diameter and 47 mm length, designed for tattoo machines. Being short and lightweight (about 41 g), it places the hand close to the working tip, making it preferred by artists who want a minimalist setup and firm grip for lining and fine-line work. The package includes the screws and handle tube necessary for mounting.

How to use

Check compatibility: the grip has a 22 mm diameter and mounts on traditional or pen-style machines compatible with this size. Confirm your machine's clamping system before assembly.
Sterilize the grip before first use and between clients — aluminum is autoclavable, so it withstands the standard autoclave cycle.
Mount the handle tube and secure it with the included screws; tighten firmly but without forcing the threads.
Place the grip on the machine and ensure it sits straight and firmly fixed, without any play.
Insert the needle configuration / working tube and adjust the needle depth according to your working style.
If using a protective cover (grip cover / barrier film), apply it over the grip before starting, as a hygiene barrier.
Test the grip for a few seconds: the short 47 mm length brings your fingers close to the tip — ideal for fine control.
After the session, dispose of the needles and single-use consumables, then clean and resterilize the grip for reuse.

Tips from us

The short 47 mm length favors a compact grip, with the hand close to the tip — very good for lining and details; for long shading sessions, a smaller gripping surface may fatigue the hand.
The lightweight aluminum (~41 g) reduces fatigue in long sessions compared to heavy handles.
The available anodized colors are purely aesthetic — they do not affect functionality, so choose according to preference.
Check the tightness of the screws before each session; a loose grip affects control.
Keep a second clean and sterilized grip ready for back-to-back appointments so you don't have to wait for the autoclave cycle.

Warning: Hygiene is mandatory: the grip must be sterilized by autoclaving before first use and between each client. The correct protocol is cleaning (removing residues) → ultrasonic bath → autoclaving. Never tattoo with an unclean or unsterilized grip. Periodically check the integrity of the threads and surface; replace the grip if any damage occurs that would prevent thorough cleaning.

Frequently asked questions

What material is the grip made of?▾

Made of anodized aluminum alloy. It is lightweight — about 41 g — which helps reduce fatigue during long sessions while maintaining a durable construction.

Can it be sterilized / autoclaved?▾

Yes. Aluminum is autoclavable, so the grip withstands the standard sterilization cycle. It is recommended to clean it, run it through an ultrasonic bath, and then autoclave it before first use and between clients.

Which machines is it compatible with?▾

With traditional machines or pen-style machines that accept a 22 mm diameter grip. Before ordering, check what grip diameter your machine requires to ensure a proper fit.

What is included in the package?▾

The necessary screws and handle tube for mounting are included, so you can assemble the grip onto the machine without additional accessories.

Is it suitable for large hands or long shading sessions?▾

Being short (47 mm) and slim (22 mm), it offers a small gripping surface, ideal for lining, fine-line work, and details where control matters most. For large hands or long shading sessions, a longer and thicker grip tends to be more comfortable.

Does it come in multiple colors?▾

Yes, anodized aluminum grips are usually available in multiple colors. Check the color availability on the product page — the choice is purely aesthetic and does not affect performance.

Product description

Aluminum grip 22 mm *47mm Professional grips for the tattoo machine. Easy to clean. Screws are included Clamping material: aluminum alloy The 22mm aluminum grip with 47mm length is a compact aluminum grip with a slim 22mm diameter and short 47mm length. The reduced dimensions make this grip an ultra-compact option, ideal for artists who prefer a minimalist setup and a short grip that does not extend far beyond the hand. The 22mm diameter offers precise control, while the 47mm length allows a firm but compact hold. Aluminum ensures minimal weight, and solid construction provides durability. The grip mounts on traditional or pen-style machines compatible with the 22mm diameter. Autoclavable at standard temperatures. The short 47mm length is significant — some artists prefer short grips that leave more tube or backstem length exposed, allowing a hold closer to the working tip. This can improve control for fine details. Other uses include compatibility with very compact machines where a long grip would unbalance the setup. Available in various anodized colors — check availability. Recommended for artists wanting a slim, short grip for compact setup and maximized control. The 22x47mm grip is a specific choice for artists who have experimented with various configurations and determined that the ultra-compact setup best serves their work style. It is not a compromise grip — it is a deliberate choice for maximizing control by minimizing the distance between hand and work area. Anodized aluminum provides durability and professional hygiene at an accessible price. Compatible with a wide range of traditional machines and certain modern pen-style machines. Surface may be textured or smooth, depending on available variant. Frequently Asked Questions
