Guide & full description

Complete guide: Spektra Xion S Silver

Spektra XION S Silver is a rotary machine designed for micropigmentation (permanent makeup), not for classic body tattooing. It is aimed at PMU artists working on delicate areas — eyebrows, lips, eyeliner — where low weight and fine control matter. The aluminum body, with an autoclavable telescopic grip, works with cartridge needles and connects via RCA to any professional power supply. The Silver finish is purely aesthetic: performance is identical to the Black version.

How to use

  1. Choose the stroke wheel appropriate for the procedure, from the two included: 1.8 mm for delicate work (e.g., eyeliner), 2.5 mm for microblading and lip blush. 3.2 mm and 3.7 mm wheels are purchased separately.
  2. Mount a sterile, single-use cartridge needle — the machine accepts all types of cartridge needles.
  3. Connect the machine via the RCA cable to the professional power supply and start it at a low value for testing.
  4. Adjust the needle depth using the ratchet system, in 0.3 mm steps, then lock the setting to keep it constant during work.
  5. Adjust the needle tension from the Give-Dial (full rotation), from soft to hard, depending on the technique and the treated area.
  6. Test the setup on synthetic skin or paper before starting on the client, checking needle projection and stroke.
  7. At the end, discard the cartridge needle into sharps waste, remove the protective barriers, and autoclave-sterilize the autoclavable components (seamless housing).

Tips from us

  • Use protective barriers (machine cover and clip cord cover) for each session — they reduce contamination and speed up cleaning between clients.
  • Start at a low voltage and increase gradually; it is easier to adjust up than to correct an overly aggressive hand.
  • Match the stroke to the technique: short stroke (1.8 mm) for fine work and sensitive areas, longer stroke for saturation and filling.
  • If you frequently work with longer strokes, note that 3.2 mm and 3.7 mm wheels are not included in the standard package and are purchased separately.
  • Periodically check the needle tightness and the stroke wheel fixation; a loose wheel significantly changes the machine's behavior.
  • Record your settings (stroke, depth, give, power supply voltage) for each procedure, so you can reproduce consistent results.
Warning: Micropigmentation involves skin penetration, so hygiene is mandatory: use sterile, single-use cartridge needles only once, and discard them in a sharps container. Apply protective barriers to the machine and cable for each client. Autoclavable components (seamless housing) must be sterilized according to protocol, and the machine body must be surface disinfected — do not submerge the motor in liquids. Do not work without gloves and without proper disinfection of the area. This is a professional tool and does not guarantee a specific result: the outcome depends on technique, pigments, and post-procedure care.

Frequently asked questions

What strokes are included and what do I use them for?

The machine comes standard with two interchangeable stroke wheels, 1.8 mm and 2.5 mm. The 1.8 mm is suitable for delicate work (e.g., eyeliner), and the 2.5 mm for microblading and lip blush. There are also 3.2 mm and 3.7 mm wheels for longer strokes, but these are purchased separately.

What needles and what power supply does it use?

Xion S works with cartridge needles (accepts all types of cartridge needles) and connects via RCA, the industry standard. Thus you can use it with any professional power supply, including one you already have.

What is the difference compared to the Black version?

The difference is purely aesthetic — the color finish. The technical specifications are the same: the same 6 W MotorBolt motor, the same weight (approximately 134 g), and the same interchangeable strokes. The choice is strictly a matter of design preference.

How do I properly clean and sterilize it?

Discard the cartridge needle after each client and use protective barriers during work. The seamless housing is autoclavable, so the autoclavable components are sterilized by autoclaving, and the machine body is surface disinfected. Do not submerge the motor in liquids and allow parts to dry completely before reassembly.

Is it suitable for a beginner in PMU?

Yes. It can be used by both experienced artists and beginners who want professional equipment. The intuitive depth adjustments (ratchet, in 0.3 mm steps) and tension adjustments (Give-Dial), along with the low weight, help with learning and controlling techniques. However, we recommend specialized training before working on clients.

How much does it weigh and why does it matter?

Approximately 134 g, according to manufacturer data. For micropigmentation, where you work for hours on small, delicate areas of the face, a light machine reduces hand fatigue and helps with fine, precise movements.
