Complete guide: Tattoo machine Hummingbird Pen Wireless V12 Adjustable black

The Hummingbird Pen Wireless V12 is a rotary tattoo machine, pen-style, with wireless power from an internal 2100 mAh battery — designed for artists who want freedom of movement, without the classic power cord (clip cord). It has an adjustable stroke, fine voltage control in 0.1 V increments (control range 5.0 V-11.0 V, output 5.0 V-12.0 V) and a Swiss DC motor with a no-load speed of up to 11000 rpm and maximum efficiency of 95%. It is a versatile machine, suitable both for artists who work mobile and for those who want a single adjustable machine for different techniques.

How to use

Charge the battery fully before first use — the machine charges quickly via a Type-C cable in about 2-3 hours.
Mount a clean, disposable cartridge/needle, making sure beforehand that it is firmly attached and has no play.
Adjust the machine's adjustable stroke according to the desired technique — lining, shading, or coloring.
Set the working voltage starting from the manufacturer's recommended range, 5.5 V-7.5 V, and adjust in 0.1 V increments (the machine allows output between 5.0 V and 12.0 V) until you get the desired needle behavior.
Test the operation and vibration on a sponge or foil before touching the client's skin.
Cover the machine body with a disposable protective barrier and work with gloves, as with any tattoo machine.
After the session, dispose of the used needle/cartridge in the sharps container, then clean and disinfect the machine exterior according to the studio protocol.
Recharge the battery (2-3 hours, Type-C) and store the machine in a dry place, protected from shocks, for the next use.

Tips from us

Start voltage adjustment from the manufacturer's recommended range (5.5 V-7.5 V) and increase gradually, in 0.1 V increments, observing how the needle responds — do not jump directly to high values.
For fine lines, generally use a lower voltage within the working range; for shading and coloring, a voltage closer to the upper limit — test first on a sponge.
Do not leave the battery completely discharged for long periods; a full charge takes 2-3 hours via the Type-C cable included in the fast charging system.
Periodically check the needle/cartridge attachment — even with a well-adjusted machine, a loose or dull needle affects line quality.
Being wireless, the machine body (Ø 36.2 x 135.5 mm) must be completely covered with a disposable protective sleeve for each client, just like a classic wired machine.
Transport the machine and charger protected from moisture and mechanical shocks — the compact packaging size shows it is designed for portability, but the internal electronic components remain sensitive to impact.

Warning: As with any tattoo machine: use only sterile, disposable needles/cartridges and dispose of them immediately after the session in the sharps container — never reuse them. Cover the machine body with a disposable protective barrier for each client and disinfect the exterior between sessions according to the studio hygiene protocol. Work with clean gloves and wash your hands before mounting the needle. Do not charge the machine near water and avoid exposure to moisture, given the electronic components and internal battery.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the battery last on a full charge?▾

According to manufacturer tests, the battery life is 6.0-10.0 hours of working time on a full charge, depending on the settings used. Full recharging takes 2-3 hours via a Type-C cable with fast charging.

What voltage should I use to start?▾

The manufacturer recommends a working range of 5.5 V-7.5 V, with fine adjustment in 0.1 V increments and output between 5.0 V and 12.0 V. Start from the recommended range and adjust gradually according to technique (lining vs. shading/color) and how the skin reacts during testing.

What needle cartridges are compatible?▾

The technical sheet in this listing does not explicitly detail the needle attachment system. We recommend checking directly on the product page or asking before ordering to ensure it is compatible with the needles/cartridges you already have in stock.

How do I sanitize and maintain the machine between sessions?▾

Cover the body with a disposable protective barrier for each client, use only sterile, disposable needles/cartridges, and finally disinfect the machine exterior according to the studio protocol. The internal battery and electronics are protected by avoiding moisture and mechanical shocks — do not submerge the machine in disinfectant liquids.

Is it suitable for beginners as well, or only for experienced artists?▾

Being a rotary machine with adjustable stroke and fine voltage control, it offers flexibility both for someone who wants a single versatile machine at the start and for artists who want to fine-tune behavior for different techniques. For a first purchase, it is useful to also ask for the opinion of an experienced artist when setting up the initial settings.

What advantage does the wireless version have over a classic wired machine?▾

Power comes from the internal 2100 mAh battery integrated into the body, so you no longer have the power cord (clip cord) that can get tangled or caught. However, you need to monitor the battery life (6.0-10.0 hours) and recharge the machine (2-3 hours) between sessions to avoid running out of battery during work.
