Guide & full description

Complete guide: Sterilization self-sealing bags for autoclave 75x250mm 10 pieces

These are single-use bags for wrapping instruments before autoclave sterilization, made of white medical paper on one side and transparent laminated film on the other. The transparent side allows you to see the instrument without opening the package, and the self-adhesive tape seals the bag airtight without a sealing machine. They are a basic consumable for any tattoo studio or clinic that sterilizes reusable instruments — grips, forceps, narrow tubes — and the elongated 75x250mm format is designed exactly for such thin parts. The set contains 10 pieces.

How to use

  1. Clean and dry the instruments thoroughly before wrapping — the bag does not replace prior cleaning. Articulated instruments should be placed open or disassembled, and sharp tips should be protected.
  2. Insert one instrument per bag (this is the rule for self-adhesive bags) and press the bag to remove all air.
  3. Peel off the protective foil from the adhesive tape and press firmly to seal the open end of the bag airtight.
  4. Place each package in the sterilizer so that it does not touch the metal tray and, during steam sterilization, does not touch another bag.
  5. Run the steam sterilization cycle at 121-134°C for a maximum of 30 minutes — the range for which these bags are designed.
  6. After the cycle, check the indicator impregnated in the paper: for steam sterilization, the color must have changed from pink to brown.
  7. Allow the bags to cool for 5-10 minutes in the sterilizer; if you want to speed up cooling, leave the door wide open.
  8. Store the intact packages in a clean, dry place — sterility is maintained for up to 2 months after sterilization, provided the packaging remains intact.

Tips from us

  • Note the sterilization date on each bag so you can track the 2-month period. Write on the plastic part or the sealing area, not pressed into the paper, to avoid damaging it.
  • Do not block the paper part in the autoclave — steam penetrates through it during the cycle, and the plastic film provides the sterile barrier afterward.
  • Choose the right size for the instrument: the piece must fit loosely without straining the seal. The 75x250mm format is ideal for thin, elongated instruments; for wider pieces, choose a larger bag.
  • Check each bag before using the instrument from it: if it is punctured, wet, or unsealed, the contents are no longer sterile.
  • Remove as much air as possible before sealing — a well-pressed package seals more securely and performs better in the autoclave.
Warning: The bags are strictly single-use: once used, they are discarded, cannot be sterilized a second time, and the adhesive no longer seals airtight upon a second sealing. Never use an instrument from a bag with a compromised seal or an indicator that has not changed color — re-sterilize it in a new bag. Proper packaging in indicator bags is a requirement of sanitary regulations for studios working with reusable instruments.

Frequently asked questions

What instruments fit in the 75x250mm size?

The 7.5 x 25 cm format is designed for thin, elongated instruments: grips, forceps, narrow tubes, or other similarly shaped parts. The basic rule is one instrument per bag, and it must fit loosely without straining the edges or seal. If you work with wider or bulkier pieces, choose a larger bag size — forced sealing compromises the sterile barrier.

How do I know sterilization worked?

Each bag has two indicators impregnated in the paper: one for steam and one for ethylene oxide. During steam sterilization (121-134°C), the indicator changes from pink to brown; during ethylene oxide sterilization (30-54°C), it changes from blue to orange. If after the cycle the indicator has not changed color, the process did not occur correctly — do not consider the instrument sterile and re-sterilize in a new bag. Note that the indicator confirms exposure to the process; the proper functioning of the autoclave must be verified separately, according to the device's instructions.

How long do instruments remain sterile after autoclaving?

Sterility is maintained for up to 2 months after sterilization, provided the packaging remains intact and sealed. That's why it's worth noting the sterilization date on each bag and storing them in a clean, dry place, away from moisture and objects that could puncture them. Before each use, check the bag's integrity — if it is damaged or the expiration date has passed, re-sterilize the instrument in a new bag.

Can I reuse a bag after opening it?

No. The bags are single-use: once opened or passed through a sterilization cycle, they are discarded. They cannot be sterilized a second time, and the adhesive tape no longer provides an airtight seal upon resealing. The cost per bag is small compared to the risk of working with an instrument whose sterility is not guaranteed.

Do I need a sealing machine for these bags?

No, that is their great practical advantage. The bag has a special adhesive tape covered with a removable foil: after inserting the instrument and pressing out the air, you peel off the foil and press the tape, and the end seals airtight. You do not need a heat sealer, making them suitable even for studios that do not have such equipment.

Do they work in any type of sterilizer?

The bags are designed for steam sterilization in an autoclave at temperatures of 121-134°C for a maximum of 30 minutes, and for ethylene oxide sterilization — they have a dedicated indicator for each process. Do not use them in other sterilization methods for which they are not intended. In the autoclave, place the packages so they do not touch the metal tray, and during steam sterilization, they should not touch each other.

Product description

Sterilization self-sealing bags for autoclave The self-sealing bags are made of a plastic for medical use, called transparent laminated film, which comes from a special polyester or polypropylene film and medical paper. The paper used is smooth on both sides, white in color and provides great anti-bacterial protection. They are used for sterilization with Autoclave and Ethylene Oxide. To check the effectiveness of the sterilization, they have two indicators impregnated in the paper, one for steam and another for ethylene oxide. Correct sterilization is certified by changing the color of the indicator. For steam sterilization, at a temperature of 121-134 º C, the color changes from pink to brown. For sterilization with ethylene oxide, at a temperature of 30-54 º C, the color changes from blue to orange. The duration of maintaining sterilization is 2 months from sterilization, provided the integrity of the packaging is maintained. The bags used once must be thrown away, because they cannot be sterilized a second time. The distinctive feature of self-adhesive bags is their use for a single product. It does not require the use of a sealing machine, because it has a special adhesive tape that hermetically closes the open end of the bag. When using these bags, the instruments must be opened or dismantled, and the sharp points protected. This type of packaging provides protection for chemical and biological contamination from the moment of sterilization, until the package is opened.1. Insert the instrument into the bag and press until all the air is removed from the bag;2. Seal the bag;3. Place each package in the sterilizer. Avoid any contact with the metal tray of the sterilization oven (or with a bag in the case of the steam sterilization process);4. This product is approved / created for use in the steam sterilization process (autoclave sterilization) at temperatures of 121-134 º C for a maximum of 30 minutes.5. Let the bags / packages cool down in the sterilizer for 5-10 minutes after the whole process. To speed up cooling, leave the sterilizer door wide open; The price is for a set of 10 pieces.
