Guide & full description
Complete guide: Plastic container 3 liter for sharps/sharps waste
This is a rigid, yellow plastic container designed for the safe collection of contaminated sharps and cutting waste from a tattoo or piercing studio: needles, cartridges, microblading blades, and other sharp objects. With a capacity of 3 liters (usable capacity 2.6 liters), it suits a moderate client flow. It is disposable, bears the biohazard symbol, and is designed to resist puncture, protecting staff from accidents with contaminated items until handover to an authorized disposal company.
How to use
- Place the container on a stable surface, within easy reach, right next to the workstation before starting the session.
- Immediately discard contaminated sharps (needles, cartridges, blades) directly through the wide opening, without placing them on the table first.
- Do not force items in or push waste down with your hand; let them fall freely into the container.
- Do not recap needles by hand — discard the needle directly, while still attached where possible.
- Monitor the maximum fill line (about three-quarters of the height) and do not exceed this level.
- When waste reaches the fill line, activate the permanent closure lid and seal the container in one motion.
- Check the label with the biohazard symbol and waste code (18 01 01), and complete the waste record.
- Hand over the sealed container to an authorized hazardous waste collection company.
Tips from us
- Keep one container at each workstation so sharps get disposed directly without being carried around the studio.
- Seal on time: it’s better to close at the maximum fill line than to risk overfilling and blocking the opening.
- Retain the handover documents to the collection company — they are checked during sanitary inspections.
- Choose the capacity based on your workflow: the 3-liter option is designed for a studio with moderate flow; smaller and larger containers are available for other needs.
- Position the container so the opening is easily accessible with one hand while working.
Frequently asked questions
What types of waste can I put in the container?▾
All contaminated sharp objects from a tattoo or piercing studio: traditional needles, tattoo cartridges, microblading blades, piercing needles, and any other item that can cause piercing or cutting. The container corresponds to waste code 18 01 01 (sharps).
What size studio is the 3-liter container suitable for?▾
The 3-liter capacity (usable 2.6 liters) is designed for a studio with moderate client flow. If you have a smaller or larger workload, you can choose other capacities from the same category of containers.
Can I reopen the container after sealing and reuse it?▾
No. The container is disposable, and the permanent closure lid makes it impossible to reopen after sealing. Once closed, it is handed over to the collection company as is; it is not emptied or reused.
Can I put liquids in it?▾
The container is designed for solid sharps and cutting waste. Small amounts of residual liquid remaining on objects are acceptable, but do not pour large quantities of liquids — there are dedicated containers for those.
How do I know when to seal it?▾
The container has a maximum fill mark at about three-quarters of its height. When waste reaches that level, seal it and hand it over to the collection company. Never overfill it beyond the mark.
How do I legally hand it over after filling?▾
The container is ADR-certified for road transport of hazardous waste and meets the UN 3291 classification. After sealing, hand it over to an authorized hazardous medical waste collection company and keep the record and handover documents for sanitary inspections.
