Complete guide: Povidone Iodine Prep Pads - Antiseptic 10pcs OFFER

Dynarex wipes impregnated with 10% povidone-iodine solution are a disposable antiseptic consumable designed for skin disinfection before tattoos and piercings. Each wipe comes individually packaged in a sealed, easy-tear pouch, and the pack contains 10 wipes. They are especially useful for preparing sensitive areas or those with higher infection risk, and as an alternative for clients who do not tolerate isopropyl alcohol well.

How to use

  1. First, check via the consent form whether the client is allergic to iodine or has thyroid conditions; if so, use an alternative solution (e.g., 70% isopropyl alcohol or chlorhexidine).
  2. Tear open the sealed pouch along the marked line and remove the wipe without touching the surface that will contact the skin with your fingers.
  3. Wipe the work area with motions from the center outward or in a single direction, completely covering the surface to be tattooed or pierced.
  4. Allow the solution to act for a minimum of 15-30 seconds; the yellow-brown coloration visually confirms that you have covered the entire area.
  5. For tattoos, after the iodine has done its job, clean off the coloration with isopropyl alcohol or green soap before applying the stencil so that the transfer adheres properly.
  6. Dispose of the used wipe immediately as medical waste; do not reuse it on another area or on another client.

Tips from us

  • Use iodine selectively, where it truly adds value: cartilage piercings or areas with higher infection risk.
  • Protect the client's clothing during application — on skin the coloration is temporary, but on textiles iodine can leave persistent stains.
  • Do not open the pouches ahead of time: the individual seal maintains the active concentration of iodine and prevents contamination.
  • For clients with sensitive skin or alcohol intolerance, iodine is a good alternative, but clean the coloration at the end anyway.
  • For micropigmentation on eyebrows, clean the coloration immediately after disinfection and completely avoid the eye area, eyelids, and lips.
Warning: ALWAYS check, via the consent form, whether the client is allergic to iodine or has thyroid conditions — in these cases do not use the product, but an alternative such as 70% isopropyl alcohol or chlorhexidine. Reactions to iodine can range from mild local irritation to severe reactions (rare). The product is for single use: one wipe for one area and one client, and after use it is discarded as medical waste. When applying on the face, avoid the area around the eyes, eyelids, and lips.

Frequently asked questions

What is the advantage of iodine over isopropyl alcohol?

Iodine covers a broader antimicrobial spectrum: in addition to the bactericidal, fungicidal, and virucidal action common to both, povidone-iodine also has sporicidal action, meaning it eliminates bacterial spores, which alcohol does not destroy. Additionally, the visible coloration confirms complete coverage of the area. The disadvantages are the risk of iodine allergy (rare, but to be considered) and temporary skin discoloration.

Does iodine permanently stain the skin?

No. The yellow-brown discoloration left by povidone-iodine is temporary and is easily cleaned off with isopropyl alcohol or green soap, after the solution has fulfilled its antiseptic function (minimum 15-30 seconds of contact) and before applying the stencil. On clothes or textiles, however, iodine can leave persistent stains, so protect the client's clothing.

Do I need to ask the client if they are allergic to iodine?

Yes, always, and this question should appear explicitly in the studio's consent form. If there is an iodine allergy or thyroid condition, do not use the product, but a safe alternative such as 70% isopropyl alcohol or chlorhexidine. When in doubt, go with the alternative.

How many wipes are in a pack and how are they packaged?

The pack contains 10 wipes, each individually packaged in a sealed, easy-tear pouch. The individual packaging maintains the iodine concentration and keeps the wipe clean until the moment of use.

Can I use the product for micropigmentation on the face?

Yes, with precautions. Completely avoid the area around the eyes, eyelids, and lips. For eyebrows, application is possible, but clean off the coloration immediately after disinfection. If you prefer to avoid discoloration in the facial area, some procedures use chlorhexidine as an alternative that does not stain the skin.

How long should the solution be left to act?

Leave the iodine in contact with the skin for a minimum of 15-30 seconds before proceeding. The uniform yellow-brown coloration is a sign that the area has been completely covered; only after this interval do you clean off the coloration (for tattoos) and move on.

Product description

Povidone Iodine Prep Pads - Antiseptic Before any tattoo or piercing, any good artist knows that you need to clean your canvas and Povidone iodine prep pads will do exactly that. Iodine prep pads contain a 10% povidone-iodine solution, which is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial that kills viruses and bacteria. This solution forms a protective barrier until the solution is washed off, so it is ideal for an antiseptic skin preparation. The preparation pads are packed in easy-to-break bags, keeping them convenient and free of contaminants. If you have a hard-to-reach area, we also offer the povidone-iodine solution in the form of a tampon. Specifications: Quantity: 1 box with 100 pads 10% povidone iodine solution. Antiseptic For tattoos and piercings Easy to tear bags Iodine solution 10% (povidone-iodine) impregnated wipes in the 10-piece pack are the broad-spectrum antiseptic consumable used in tattoo and piercing studios for deep skin disinfection before invasive procedures. Povidone-iodine (PVP-I) 10% is one of the most effective cutaneous antiseptics, with bactericidal, fungicidal, virucidal, and sporicidal action — a broader spectrum than isopropyl alcohol, which does not eliminate bacterial spores. Each wipe is individually packaged in a sealed sachet, maintaining the active iodine concentration and product sterility. Upon skin application, the 10% iodine solution creates a visible disinfection zone (yellow-brown coloration) that allows the artist to visually confirm complete coverage of the work area. This coloration cleans easily with isopropyl alcohol or green soap after the antiseptic function is fulfilled. Iodine's mechanism of action is through direct oxidation of microorganism cellular components, providing disinfection within 15-30 seconds of contact. Recommended use: skin disinfection for piercing (especially cartilage piercings or areas with high infection risk), skin preparation for tattoos in sensitive areas, and as an alternative to isopropyl alcohol for clients with alcohol sensitivity. The 10-piece pack is suitable for artists who use iodine selectively or as complementary stock. Do not use on clients with documented iodine allergy or thyroid conditions. Single-use product, dispose as medical waste. Frequently Asked Questions
