Guide & full description

Complete guide: Povidone Iodine Prep Pads - Antiseptic 100pcs OFFER

Dynarex wipes with 10% povidone-iodine solution are a single-use cutaneous antiseptic for skin preparation before tattooing or piercing. They come in a box of 100, each individually wrapped in an easy-tear packet, and are especially suited for studios that use iodine as their standard disinfectant or as an alternative to isopropyl alcohol for sensitive clients. Povidone-iodine has a broad antimicrobial spectrum and leaves a visible yellow-brown stain, confirming exactly the treated area.

How to use

Wash and dry the area to be tattooed or pierced, removing any traces of cream, makeup, or dirt.
Tear open the individual packet along the marked line and remove the wipe without touching it with unclean hands.
Apply it to the skin with motions from the center outward, covering the entire work area and slightly beyond its edges.
Check visually: an even yellow-brown stain shows you have covered the entire surface.
Let the iodine work for a few tens of seconds, until it dries, before the next step.
If your tattooing protocol requires clean skin for the stencil, remove the stain with a separate cleaning step before applying the stencil.
Discard the wipe immediately after use as single-use waste; do not reuse it for another area or client.

Tips from us

Check the expiration date and the integrity of the packet before use — a torn packet means a contaminated wipe.
For regular tattooing, note that iodine leaves a stain, so plan an extra cleaning step before stencil application compared to colorless disinfectants.
Iodine can stain porous surfaces and textiles — protect the work area and use it primarily on skin.
Always ask the client about iodine allergies and thyroid conditions before application.
Keep the box closed, at room temperature, away from direct light and heat.
Keep a smaller pack in your mobile kit for events and conventions as a backup to the studio box.

Warning: Single-use product, for external use only on intact skin. Contraindicated in individuals with iodine allergy or thyroid conditions — ask the client before application. Do not reuse the same wipe on multiple areas or clients, and discard immediately after use, in accordance with studio waste management rules. The wipe prepares the skin antiseptically but does not replace the rest of the hygiene protocol (gloves, protective barriers, sterile instruments).

Frequently asked questions

When should I choose iodine over isopropyl alcohol?▾

Povidone-iodine is useful for clients sensitive to alcohol, for piercings, and for areas where you want the broadest possible antimicrobial spectrum plus visual confirmation of coverage. For regular tattooing, many artists prefer isopropyl alcohol because it leaves no staining and doesn't require an extra cleaning step before stencil application. Many studios keep both options and choose based on the situation.

Can I use one wipe for multiple areas?▾

No. This is a single-use product: one wipe per area/application, then discard. Reusing it nullifies the antiseptic effect and transfers contaminants from one area to another or from one client to another. The box of 100 provides enough stock for normal studio consumption.

Why does iodine leave a yellow-brown stain on the skin?▾

The staining is normal and even useful: it shows you exactly the area you have covered with antiseptic. It is removed during cleaning. If a stencil follows, clean the skin after the iodine has done its job so the stencil adheres properly.

What should I do if the client has an iodine allergy?▾

Do not use this product. Iodine is contraindicated for individuals with iodine allergy or thyroid conditions. For such clients, use an iodine-free alternative (e.g., isopropyl alcohol or another suitable antiseptic). Always ask before application.

How long does a box of 100 last and how should I store it?▾

It depends on your studio volume and how many wipes you use per client. Each wipe is individually packaged, so the rest of the box remains protected even if you only use a few. Store the box closed, at room temperature, away from light and heat, and respect the expiration date.

Can I also disinfect work surfaces with these wipes?▾

You can, on non-porous surfaces (stainless steel, glass, colored plastic), but keep in mind that iodine can stain porous surfaces and textiles. For trays and holders, isopropyl alcohol is often more practical because it leaves no staining. Iodine is most effective on skin.

Product description

Povidone Iodine Prep Pads - Antiseptic Before any tattoo or piercing, any good artist knows that you need to clean your canvas and Povidone iodine prep pads will do exactly that. Iodine prep pads contain a 10% povidone-iodine solution, which is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial that kills viruses and bacteria. This solution forms a protective barrier until the solution is washed off, so it is ideal for an antiseptic skin preparation. The preparation pads are packed in easy-to-break bags, keeping them convenient and free of contaminants. If you have a hard-to-reach area, we also offer the povidone-iodine solution in the form of a tampon. Specifications: Quantity: 1 box with 100 pads 10% povidone iodine solution. Antiseptic For tattoos and piercings Easy to tear bags Povidone-iodine 10% impregnated wipes in the professional 100-piece pack are the economical option for tattoo and piercing studios that use iodine disinfection as a standard or alternative protocol to isopropyl alcohol. The povidone-iodine (PVP-I) 10% formula offers the broadest antimicrobial spectrum available in cutaneous disinfection consumables — bactericidal, fungicidal, virucidal, and sporicidal action, superior to isopropyl alcohol regarding bacterial spore elimination. Each wipe is individually packaged in a sealed sachet, ensuring that the 100th wipe in the box has the same active concentration as the first. The sufficient size of each wipe covers 15x20 cm areas in a single pass. The medical non-woven material is durable and does not leave fibers on skin. The visible yellow-brown coloration upon application confirms complete coverage of the disinfected zone — a unique advantage over colorless disinfectants. The 100-piece pack is sized for studios that use povidone-iodine regularly: either as the primary disinfectant for all procedures or as an alternative for clients with alcohol sensitivity. At average consumption of 1-2 wipes per client, the pack covers 50-100 procedures. The per-unit cost is significantly reduced compared to the 10-piece pack. Compliant with European medical device standards, lot-traceable, clear expiration date. Contraindicated for clients with iodine allergy or thyroid conditions. Single-use product, dispose as medical waste. Frequently Asked Questions
