Guide & full description

Complete guide: Set of 50 Dark Blue Plastic Caps 12mm

This set contains 50 plastic caps, with a diameter of 12mm, in the shape of a skull and dark blue color — designed as disposable containers for tattoo ink. They are a basic consumable for any workstation: they are used to pour a small amount of ink directly from the bottle, as much as you need for a session, without repeatedly dipping the needle into the original bottle. Suitable for both experienced artists and those organizing their first work kit.

How to use

  1. Prepare a clean and disinfected workstation, with surfaces covered with protective film.
  2. Take out one cap for each ink color you plan to use in the session.
  3. Secure the caps on a special ink cap holder or on adhesive tape/tray, so they stay stable and do not tip over.
  4. Pour into each cap only the amount of ink you estimate you will use — do not fill to the brim.
  5. Dip the tip/needle of the tattoo machine directly into the cap throughout the work, without touching the original ink bottle.
  6. If you work with multiple colors, use a separate cap for each to avoid unwanted mixing.
  7. At the end of the session, discard both the cap and the remaining ink in it — do not pour back into the bottle.
  8. Store unused caps in a clean, dry place, away from dust, until the next use.

Tips from us

  • Treat each cap as strictly single-use — one cap per client, per session, per color.
  • Do not pour more ink than you need; you reduce waste and keep the workstation tidy.
  • Secure the cap well on the holder before pouring ink, to avoid accidental spills during work.
  • The 12mm diameter is suitable for small amounts of ink; for large pieces with high consumption, keep several spare caps on hand for refilling.
  • Prepare a few empty caps in advance if you frequently change colors during a session.
Warning: Ink caps are strictly single-use consumables for hygiene reasons. Never reuse a cap that has already been used on another client or in a previous session — you risk cross-contamination. Handle them with gloves so as not to compromise the sterility of the workstation, and dispose of them after the session according to the studio's hygiene protocol (materials that have come into contact with skin or blood are disposed of separately, as biological waste).

Frequently asked questions

What exactly are these caps used for?

They are small, disposable containers into which you pour a small amount of ink from the original bottle, as much as you need for a session. This way you don't dip the needle directly into the large bottle, and the rest of the ink remains clean for future clients.

Can they be washed and reused?

No. They are designed as a single-use product — they are discarded after each session, along with the remaining ink. Reusing an already used cap carries a risk of cross-contamination, so it is not a recommended practice.

What does the 12mm diameter mean — is it a standard size?

12mm is the diameter of the cap opening, a small-medium size, suitable for small amounts of ink (fine lines, shading on small surfaces, or short sessions). For large pieces with high ink consumption, you may need to refill more often.

Why does the color (dark blue) and skull shape of the cap matter?

They are aesthetic/visual identification elements of the container itself and have nothing to do with the ink you pour into it — you can put any ink color in any cap, regardless of its color or shape.

How do I secure them on the workstation so they don't tip over?

The safest way is to attach them to a dedicated ink cap holder or to a stable adhesive tape/tray, positioned so they cannot tip over while you work.

How many pieces are in a set and how long do they last?

The set contains 50 caps. How many sessions they cover depends on how many colors you use and how often you refill ink during a session — for short sessions with 1-2 colors, one set can cover multiple appointments.
