What is each part in the kit used for?▾
The needle bar grommet is mounted on the armature bar pin and connects with the needle bar loop, absorbing vibrations and eliminating metallic noise. The spring rubber provides additional dampening at the spring assembly level. The elastic bands stretch over the machine frame and needle bar to keep the needle pressed and stable in the tube. How often should the grommets and elastic bands be changed?▾
Ideally every session — they are fast-wearing consumables, and for hygiene reasons they are not reused between clients. Clear signs of wear: the grommet has become soft and no longer centers the needle, has become stiff and no longer dampens, has cracks, or you notice vibration and noise in the tube. Elastic bands lose tension and should be replaced as soon as they no longer hold the bar firmly.
Can I disinfect the grommets and reuse them?▾
It is not recommended. Besides the risk of cross-contamination, disinfectants degrade the rubber: the grommet becomes soft or brittle and no longer works properly. The cost of a new grommet is insignificant compared to the risk of a compromised line or a hygiene issue — treat them as single-use consumables.
The machine vibrates and makes noise even though I put new grommets. What should I check?▾
Check step by step: if the needle bar grommet is correctly seated on the pin and the needle bar loop sits well on it; if the elastic band has enough tension to keep the bar pressed toward the tube; and if the machine's screws are tight — use the hex keys from the kit. If the noise persists after these checks, the problem may be with the tube, the needle, or the machine's adjustment, not the grommets.
