Guide & full description

Complete guide: Proton Stencil Primer Blue 250ml

The transfer solution is the consumable that fixes the stencil onto the skin before tattooing, and the Blue version from the Proton airless range leaves a blue drawing, with good contrast on light and medium skin — an alternative to the classic purple transfer. The formula is water-based, alcohol-free, and the 250 ml bottle with an airless pump dispenses consistently and hygienically, without waste. It is useful for both beginner artists and studios that do many transfers daily.

How to use

  1. Prepare the work area: shave the skin, clean it, and dry it completely before the transfer.
  2. With gloves on, pump 1-2 doses of solution onto a disposable paper towel or directly onto the skin.
  3. Spread the solution in a thin, even layer over the entire area where the stencil will be placed.
  4. Wait 10-15 seconds until the film becomes slightly tacky.
  5. Place the stencil with the printed side on the skin and press firmly without moving it.
  6. Remove the paper in a continuous motion, from one edge to the other.
  7. Let the transfer dry for 5-10 minutes before starting the tattoo.

Tips from us

  • Less is more: a thin layer fixes lines clearly, while excess solution can 'drown' fine details.
  • Choose the stencil color based on skin tone: blue shows well on light and medium skin, and for very dark skin, the Pink version from the same range may be more visible.
  • For very long sessions (8-10+ hours) or difficult skin, the range includes the Black Label version with maximum adhesion; Blue covers standard and long sessions.
  • Transfer quality also depends on the paper: the product works with common thermal papers (Spirit, S8, ReproFX) and manual carbon paper.
  • Check the stencil's position and symmetry with the client before pressing — repositioning means cleaning the area and starting over.
  • Wipe the pump head after use and do not touch it to the skin, so the bottle remains hygienic throughout its use.
Warning: The transfer solution is applied only to intact, clean, and freshly sanitized skin — never on irritated or damaged skin. Work with gloves, pump onto a disposable towel, and do not touch the pump head to the client's skin to avoid contaminating the bottle between clients. Although the water-based, alcohol-free formula is dermatologically tested, stop application if any unusual reaction occurs. At the end of the session, stencil residue is removed with water and mild soap.

Frequently asked questions

Why would I choose a blue stencil over the classic purple?

Blue offers a different contrast compared to traditional purple: on light skin it shows very well, and on medium skin it is often more visible than purple, which can blend with the skin tone. On very dark skin, both colors can be hard to follow — there, the Pink version from the same range may be a better choice. Ultimately, stencil color remains a personal preference; many artists keep 2-3 options and choose based on the client.

Does it work with the transfer paper I already use?

Yes. The product is compatible with all common thermal paper types (Spirit, S8, ReproFX, and others), as well as carbon paper for manual drawing. Keep in mind that the final result also depends on the quality of the paper and the stencil printing, not just the solution.

How long does a 250 ml bottle last?

One bottle covers approximately 200-300 applications, meaning around 8-12 months for an active artist. The airless system dispenses in a controlled manner and allows almost full use of the contents, with no product left on the bottle walls, so waste is minimal.

Does it contain alcohol? Can I apply it right after shaving the area?

It does not contain alcohol — the formula is water-based and dermatologically tested, designed not to irritate freshly shaved skin. Still, apply it only on intact skin and monitor the client's reaction; at any sign of irritation, stop and clean the area.

How do I use it hygienically when I have multiple clients in the same day?

The basic rule: the bottle never comes into direct contact with the client. Pump the solution onto a disposable paper towel, with gloves, and apply from there to the skin; do not touch the nozzle to the skin or non-decontaminated surfaces. The advantage of the airless system is precisely that the product inside remains isolated, so the bottle can be safely used from one client to another if the exterior is wiped and handled correctly.

Do blue marks stay on the skin after the tattoo is finished?

No permanent marks remain. Blue stencil residue is easily cleaned at the end of the session with water and a mild soap (or a dedicated tattoo cleanser), and the color disappears completely after cleaning.
