Guide & full description

Complete guide: Proton Stencil Primer Pink 250ml

The transfer solution in the pink variant from the Proton airless range is designed for artists working on medium and dark skin tones, where classic purple or blue stencils visually disappear. The water-based, alcohol-free formula transfers the design from thermal paper onto the skin and keeps it visible throughout long sessions — the manufacturer indicates a resistance of up to 15 hours. The 250 ml airless bottle dispenses controlled doses without air contact, which helps both hygiene and efficient product consumption.

How to use

Prepare the work area: the client's skin must be shaved, cleaned, and degreased before application.
Pump 1-2 doses of solution onto a clean glove or disposable spatula — do not touch the bottle nozzle to the skin.
Spread the solution in a thin, even layer over the entire area where the stencil will be placed.
Wait approximately 10-15 seconds until the layer becomes tacky but not wet.
Place the thermal paper with the design onto the skin in a single motion, without repositioning.
Press firmly and evenly over the entire surface, then carefully remove the paper in one smooth pull.
Allow the transfer to dry for 5-10 minutes before starting work, so it doesn't smudge during the first passes.

Tips from us

Choose pink especially for olive, brown, or dark skin — its contrast is most visible there; on very light skin, the Blue or Evolution variants from the same range offer better contrast.
A thin layer transfers cleaner than a thick one: excess solution can 'drown' fine lines and lead to a blurry stencil.
Do not reposition the paper after the first contact with the skin — you will get double lines; if the transfer came out poorly, wipe the area completely and start over.
Keep track of the color used if you work with multiple Proton variants: the airless system is identical for all, only the transfer color differs (Black Label has its own adhesion formula).
The 250 ml format covers, according to the manufacturer, several hundred applications — dispense 1-2 pumps, no more, to avoid wasting product.
It works with standard thermal papers (Spirit, S8, ReproFX and equivalents), including carbon paper, so you don't need to change your printing workflow.

Warning: Apply the solution only to intact skin — not on irritated, wounded, or freshly treated areas. Although the formula is water-based, alcohol-free, and dermatologically tested according to the manufacturer, stop use if redness or discomfort occurs. Always dispense onto a glove or disposable spatula, not directly on the client in the chair, and the bottle nozzle must never touch the skin — this keeps the bottle uncontaminated between clients. The product is for external, professional use only.

Frequently asked questions

Why would I choose a pink stencil instead of the classic purple or blue?▾

On medium and dark skin tones, purple and blue often blend with the skin tone, and lines become hard to follow during lining. Pink creates a contrast that remains visible on olive, brown, and dark skin. Stencil visibility is not just a matter of comfort — a stencil you can't see clearly increases the risk of errors during lining.

Does it work on light skin too, or is it only for dark skin?▾

It works on any skin tone, but its real advantage is on medium and dark skin. On very light skin, the Blue or Evolution variants from the same range offer superior contrast. Many artists with a diverse clientele keep 2-3 colors from the range in the studio and choose based on the client in the chair.

What transfer paper is the solution compatible with?▾

With all standard thermal papers — Spirit, S8, ReproFX and equivalents — whether you print the stencil with a thermal printer or draw it manually. It also works with classic carbon paper, so it doesn't impose a specific type of consumable.

How long does 250 ml last, and how do I keep the bottle hygienic between clients?▾

The manufacturer estimates several hundred applications from a 250 ml bottle, meaning many months of work for an active artist, since you only use 1-2 pumps per transfer. The airless system greatly helps with hygiene: the product doesn't come into contact with air, and you don't dip anything into the bottle. The golden rule remains the same as with any studio consumable — dispense onto a glove or spatula, don't touch the nozzle to the skin, and wipe the outside of the bottle and cover it with a protective barrier if it stays on the work station during the session.

Does it contain alcohol? Can I use it on freshly shaved skin?▾

It does not contain alcohol — the formula is water-based and, according to the manufacturer, dermatologically tested, so it can be used on freshly shaved skin where alcohol-based solutions would cause stinging. As with any product applied to the skin, stop use if you notice an unusual reaction.

How long does the stencil last on the skin once transferred?▾

The manufacturer indicates a resistance of up to 15 hours, sufficient for long sessions. In practice, the duration also depends on your technique: let the transfer dry completely for 5-10 minutes before starting, and wipe the area with gentle movements during work, not aggressive rubbing, so the lines remain clear until the end.
