Guide & full description
Complete guide: Unistar Nebula transfer solution 90ml
A concentrated stencil transfer gel, created by Unistar for artists who need a clear stencil that stays visible throughout the session. The formula fixes the transfer sheet pigment on the skin and is resistant to wiping and abrasion, while moisturizing and soothing ingredients make it more comfortable for your client. The 90 ml bottle is a practical format for daily studio work, conventions, or guest spots.
How to use
- Prepare the area: shave if needed, then thoroughly clean and degrease the skin (e.g., with isopropyl alcohol) and let it dry completely.
- With disposable gloves, take a small amount of gel — ideally decanted into a disposable container, not directly from the bottle with the hand that touches the client.
- Spread a thin, even layer over the area where the stencil will go. A thick layer doesn't help — on the contrary, it can cause the design to blur.
- Wait a few moments until the gel becomes slightly tacky to the touch, not wet.
- Apply the transfer sheet with the pigment side on the skin and press it evenly, without moving or repositioning it.
- Hold it pressed for a few seconds, then peel off the sheet in one controlled motion.
- Let the stencil dry completely before starting the tattoo — do not touch or wipe the area during this time.
Tips from us
- Less is clearer: a thin, even layer gives the cleanest lines; excess gel drowns fine details.
- You can work with both thermal-printed stencils and hand transfer — the formula is compatible with both workflows.
- On oilier skin, thorough degreasing and complete drying before application make the biggest difference for adhesion.
- Decant the needed portion for each client instead of going back to the bottle during work — this protects the product from contamination.
- Close the cap immediately after use so the concentrated formula doesn't dry out, and keep the bottle in a cool place away from sunlight.
- If you want a workflow from the same ecosystem, the gel is used in tandem with the Unistar transfer roller, but it works without restrictions with sheets from other brands.
Frequently asked questions
Which transfer sheets is the Nebula solution compatible with?▾
It works with all types of professional transfer sheets: Spirit (all variants), S8, Ozer X, Unistar, and transparent sheets. It is compatible with both thermal-printed stencils and hand transfer, so you don't have to change your existing workflow.
How long does the stencil last on the skin during the session?▾
The concentrated formula is designed to keep the stencil visible throughout a standard tattoo session of 4–8 hours, being resistant to wiping and abrasion. Actual duration depends on the client's skin type and how often you wipe the area during work — on very oily skin, adhesion may decrease faster, and thorough degreasing before application becomes essential.
How many applications does a 90 ml bottle yield?▾
Approximately 60 to 100 applications. The exact number depends on the size of the stencils and how much product you use per application — a thin layer is enough for good adhesion, so artists who dose economically reach the higher end of the range. For a consistently working artist, the bottle covers several weeks of activity.
How do I use the same bottle hygienically with multiple clients?▾
The basic rule: the bottle never comes into contact with the client. Decant the needed amount into a disposable container or onto a glove, apply only with gloves, and do not reintroduce anything that has touched the skin into the bottle. Close the cap immediately and wipe the outside of the bottle if you work with it in the work area — ideally it stays outside the contaminated zone, protected with a barrier if needed.
Is it suitable for a beginner artist?▾
Yes. The application follows the standard steps of any stencil solution (clean skin, thin layer, even pressure, complete drying), and the 90 ml format gives you enough product to practice dosing without running out quickly. The moisturizing and soothing ingredients make it forgiving on the client's skin. Tip: first practice stencil application on synthetic skin until you get it consistent.
Does it work on oily skin?▾
On normal to oily skin, yes, it works adequately. On very oily skin with abundant sebum, the stencil may start to fade after 3–4 hours. You can optimize the result by thorough cleaning with alcohol before application, complete drying of the skin, and an even layer of gel. If you frequently work very long sessions on oily skin, consider also a solution dedicated to this scenario from the transfer solutions range.
