Guide & full description

Complete guide: Cartridge Holder Disposable Tray set 5pcs

A simple yet surprisingly useful accessory for any tattoo station: these black sanitary plastic trays keep cartridges organized and off the work surface throughout the session. The set contains 5 disposable trays, each with slots for up to five cartridges. They are suitable for both beginning artists setting up their first station and high-volume studios where order and hygiene matter with every client.

How to use

  1. Before the session, place a clean tray on the already prepared work station, over the disposable barrier or sheet.
  2. Insert the cartridges you will be using into the slots, grouping them by type, e.g., RL for lining, RS for shading, and M1 for filling.
  3. During work, put the cartridge back into its slot every time you switch configurations, so it doesn't end up on other surfaces.
  4. Use the available slots on the tray for the main configurations of the session, so you have them all at hand.
  5. At the end, discard the tray together with the used cartridges as contaminated waste. Do not reuse it for the next client.
  6. Take a new tray from the set for each session or client.

Tips from us

  • Group cartridges by function (lining, shading, filling) so you can quickly identify what you need without interrupting your workflow.
  • Position the tray within the reach of your dominant hand, on the barrier-covered part of the station.
  • Remove cartridges from their sterile packaging only when you are ready to use them, to maintain sterility until the last moment.
  • Keep 2-3 sets in stock: they are consumed every session and you don't want to run out in the middle of a tattoo.
  • Since it is disposable, do not attempt to disinfect and reuse it. The thin plastic is not made for that and defeats the very purpose it exists.
Warning: The tray is disposable. Once it has come into contact with used cartridges, discard it. Do not autoclave or reuse it for another client, because the thin plastic is not designed for sterilization, and reuse reintroduces the risk of cross-contamination, exactly what the product is meant to prevent. Dispose of the used tray together with the studio's contaminated waste (not in the sharps container, since the tray is not sharp), following the waste management regulations applicable to your studio.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need a cartridge stand if I already have a work tray?

For order and hygiene. On a work tray or sheet, cartridges can roll, get mixed up, or come into contact with spilled ink and other surfaces. The stand keeps each one in its own slot, easy to identify by type and protected from accidental contact. It's a small item, but it organizes the station and reduces the risk of accidental contamination.

How many cartridges fit on one tray?

Each tray has slots for up to five cartridges. This covers the usual configurations for a session, for example one liner, one shader, and one filler, with room for additional variations. The set contains 5 trays in total.

Is it compatible with any brand of cartridges or tattoo machine?

Yes. The stand does not connect to the tattoo machine; it is an independent organizing accessory, so the machine brand doesn't matter. According to the product description, it is compatible with all standard cartridge brands, so you can use cartridges from different manufacturers on the same tray, as long as they are standard tattoo cartridges.

Can I wash and reuse the tray?

No. The product is disposable and designed exactly to eliminate the need for cleaning and sterilization. The thin plastic does not withstand autoclaving, and chemical disinfection does not offer the same guarantee as disposal. After each client, the used tray is discarded and you take a new one. This ensures zero risk of cross-contamination.

How many sets do I need per month?

It depends on your client volume. The practical rule is one tray per session. A set of 5 trays covers about one week of work for an active artist, so a single artist working steadily uses around 4-5 sets per month, and a studio with multiple artists proportionally more. To avoid running out, keep a stock of 2-3 sets in advance.

How do I dispose of used trays?

The tray that has come into contact with used cartridges is treated as contaminated waste, along with the rest of the consumables used on the client. It is not placed in the sharps container, because it is not sharp. Dispose of it according to your studio's waste management procedures and applicable local regulations.

Product description

Cartridge Holder Disposable Tray Neatly arrange your needle cartridges and save time identifying cartridge sizes with these cartridge holder disposable trays. Each lightweight black plastic tray has five pairs of notches, molded to accommodate up to five cartridges for easy access and organization during tattooing procedures. Specifications: Holds up to five cartridge needles (compatible with all brands) Sanitary, disposable black plastic Saves time identifying cartridge sizes Disposable cartridge needle stand, set of 5 pieces, designed for hygienic organization of cartridges during tattoo sessions. These durable plastic stands allow stable vertical positioning of used or prepared tattoo cartridges, preventing contact with the work surface and maintaining mandatory hygiene protocols. The multi-hole design with varying diameters ensures compatibility with all standard cartridge types — from thin RL (Round Liner) to wide M1 (Magnum). Each stand is manufactured from medical-grade plastic, lightweight yet stable enough to support ink-loaded cartridges without tipping. The material allows direct disposal after the session without the need for autoclaving or disinfection — the disposable component completely eliminates cross-contamination risk between clients. In professional practice, tattoo artists frequently use multiple cartridge configurations during the same session (RL for lining, RS for shading, M1 for fill). The stand organizes these cartridges in an accessible manner, prevents falling and contamination through contact with other surfaces, and allows quick identification of the needed configuration. The set of 5 covers a week of work for an active artist or multiple simultaneous sessions in a multi-artist studio. The alternative — laying cartridges on the disposable drape or work tray — offers no stability and increases the risk of ink spillage. The stand is a small investment that significantly impacts professional workflow and sanitary compliance. Frequently Asked Questions
