Guide & full description

Complete guide: Tattoo Soothe 30g Anesthetic Gel

A professional topical anesthetic gel, designed to be used during a tattoo or cosmetic tattoo session. It helps reduce pain, swelling, and bleeding, so the client stays more comfortable, and you can work more clearly and for longer periods without sudden movements. The 30 ml format is the larger version, suitable for large pieces and long sessions with multiple reapplications. It contains a complex of anesthetic agents (5% lidocaine, 2% tetracaine) and 0.02% epinephrine.

How to use

  1. Wear clean gloves and prepare the area as usual. Note that this is an anesthetic applied to already worked skin, not as a numbing layer on intact skin before starting.
  2. Start the tattoo with a few initial passes to slightly open the skin.
  3. Extract the gel with a disposable spatula (or apply directly without touching the tube tip to the skin) and put a thin layer on the area you are working on.
  4. Wait about 1-2 minutes for the gel to take effect.
  5. Continue working, and as you progress, reapply as needed, at the client's request.
  6. On more sensitive areas, apply a slightly more generous layer and let it sit for a few extra seconds before resuming.
  7. At the end, close the tube tightly and store it at room temperature, away from light and heat.

Tips from us

  • A thin layer is sufficient — more gel does not mean better effect, just waste.
  • Keep the container dedicated to a single client during the session and scoop out the gel with a disposable spatula to avoid contaminating the tube tip.
  • On areas with many nerve endings, let the gel sit for a few extra seconds before resuming work.
  • If you frequently work on small tattoos, the smaller format (10 g) may be more suitable to avoid waste; the 30 ml is for large pieces and long sessions.
  • Inform the client in advance that you will use an anesthetic and check for any sensitivities before the session.
Warning: This is a professional product with anesthetic agents (lidocaine, tetracaine) and epinephrine, intended for experienced artists. For hygiene reasons, never touch the container tip to the worked skin; use a disposable spatula or applicator and do not reuse gel from an opened container between different clients to avoid cross-contamination (blood, plasma, ink). Inform the client that you are using an anesthetic, consider any allergies or contraindications, and comply with local regulations regarding topical anesthetics. It is not a post-tattoo care product and does not replace medical advice — in case of any unusual skin reaction, discontinue use.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is Tattoo Soothe and when do I apply it?

It is a topical anesthetic gel used during the procedure, not before. According to the manufacturer's instructions, you apply it after a few initial passes, directly on the area you are working on, to reduce pain, swelling, and bleeding during the session. It essentially works as a 'secondary' anesthetic on already open skin.

How quickly does it work and how often should I reapply it?

After applying a thin layer, wait about 1-2 minutes for it to start working. As you continue working, reapply as needed, at the client's request. There is no point in waiting longer or applying more gel — a thin layer, reapplied, is more effective.

Can I use the same 30 ml container for multiple clients?

For hygiene reasons, it is not recommended, even if it seems economical. Blood, plasma, and ink can get on the tip of the tube or spatula and lead to cross-contamination. The safe solution: use disposable spatulas, never touch the container tip to the skin, and ideally portion the gel into a small sterile container for each client.

What is the difference from the smaller 10 g format?

The main difference is the quantity. The 10 g format is suitable for small and medium tattoos, while the 30 ml is the larger version, designed for large pieces and long sessions where you reapply multiple times. Choose based on how much you typically work to avoid waste or running out of gel mid-session.

Is it applied on intact skin before starting the tattoo?

No — the manufacturer's instructions are to apply it after a few initial passes, on already worked skin. It is designed as an anesthetic that works on open skin during the session, not as a numbing layer on intact skin before starting.

Why does it contain epinephrine?

The epinephrine in the formula helps reduce bleeding, which means a cleaner work field and more clarity during tattooing. Together with lidocaine and tetracaine, it contributes to the client's comfort throughout the session.

Product description

Tattoo Soothe Tattoo Soothe Topical Anesthetic Gel is used during a procedure to help relieve pain, swelling and bleeding from procedures. It has a swift, rapid-acting formula of 5% Lidocaine, 2% Tetracaine, and 0.02% Epinephrine. Clients feel less pain, artists can achieve greater clarity and work longer with less movement. The gel formula has a quicker numbing effect than most other numbing agents. So if you need a product you can count on to keep your clients in a more comfortable state, Tattoo Soothe Topical Anesthetic Gel is the solution. It can be used for body art and cosmetic tattoo procedures. How to Use Tattoo Soothe Topical Anesthetic Gel: After the initial few passes, place a thin layer of Tattoo Soothe Topical Anesthetic Gel over the area being worked on and wait approximately one to two minutes. As you continue working, repeat process, upon customer’s request. Specifications: Size: 10g 5% Lidocaine, 2% Tetracaine, 0.02% Epinephrine Topical gel for numbing Help relieve pain, swelling, and bleeding Manufacturer: Tattoo Soothe Tattoo Soothe 30ml is the professional format of the topical anesthetic gel designed for extended tattoo sessions and large pieces. With 30ml of anesthetic gel, this container comfortably covers long 4-8 hour sessions on large pieces: sleeves, back pieces, full thighs, and any design requiring multiple applications throughout the session. The formula is identical to the 10g variant — a complex of topical anesthetic agents (lidocaine and/or prilocaine) in a gel base that adheres to worked skin without dripping or diluting ink. The gel functions as secondary numbing: applied to open skin (after the first minutes of work), with rapid effect (2-5 minutes) and 45-90 minute duration per application. The gel texture ensures controlled application — you can distribute the exact quantity needed on each area. The 30ml format is designed for per-session use (not multiple clients) — however, for short sessions with small tattoos, 30ml may be excessive; in this case, opt for the 10g format. For hygiene reasons, use a single-use spatula or apply directly from the tube with clean gloves, without touching the container tip to the worked skin. Do not reuse an opened container on different sessions with different clients. Professional product for experienced tattoo artists. Frequently Asked Questions
