Guide & full description

Complete guide: Top Spirit Tattoo Carbon Sheet Paper - 200 Sheets

Spirit Carbon sheets are transfer papers that allow you to move a hand-drawn design onto the skin before starting the tattoo. They are intended for artists who work freehand or who prepare their stencils by drawing them manually, not using a printer. This pack is the professional bundle of 200 A4 sheets, Spirit brand, designed for high-consumption studios. The sheets are manufactured in the USA and use a layer of wax and dyes for a clean transfer of lines.

How to use

  1. Draw or trace the design manually on the transfer sheet, on the correct side, without unnecessarily pressing your fingers on the carbon layer.
  2. Prepare the client's skin: shave the area, clean and degrease it with an antiseptic, then let it dry completely.
  3. Apply a stencil transfer solution/gel onto the skin, in a thin and even layer, only on the area where the design will be placed.
  4. Position the sheet with the drawn side onto the skin, exactly at the desired location and angle, and check the orientation before pressing.
  5. Press the sheet evenly over the entire surface, without moving it, for a few seconds.
  6. Lift the sheet in one smooth motion, from one end, and check the transferred outline.
  7. Let the stencil dry completely before starting the tattoo, so the lines don't blur.

Tips from us

  • Use the sheets only for manual drawing (freehand) — do not run them through a printer or thermal copier, as they are not compatible with these.
  • Apply the transfer solution in a thin layer; excess can cause the lines to blur or the outline to be unclear.
  • Check the position and orientation of the design on the skin before applying the solution, to avoid reapplication and waste of sheets.
  • Being A4 format, you can cut the sheet to the size of the design to save material.
  • Store the pack horizontally, in a dry and cool place, away from heat, humidity and direct light, in its original packaging, to preserve the quality of the sheets.
Warning: Stencil transfer should be done on clean, disinfected, and shaved skin. Each sheet and each application on a client are single-use — do not reuse a sheet that has already been pressed onto skin. Work with gloves and on sanitized surfaces. If a client complains of irritation from the transfer solution, stop the application. Keep sheets out of reach of children.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use these sheets with a thermal printer or copier?

No. The Spirit Carbon sheets in this pack are intended exclusively for hand-drawn stencils (freehand) and are not compatible with thermal printers. If you work with a thermal copier, you need transfer paper specifically marked as compatible with thermal printers.

What is the difference from hectograph paper and who is carbon suitable for?

The carbon version is designed for manual drawing and tracing: the artist creates the outline on the sheet, and the carbon layer transfers it to the skin. If you work manually, carbon is the right choice; if you use a thermal printer, you need paper compatible with it. Choose according to your workflow.

How many sheets does the pack contain and who is it suitable for?

The pack contains 200 A4 sheets, manufactured in the USA. It is a professional bulk format, especially suitable for studios with multiple artists or high stencil consumption, who prefer to order less frequently and have backup stock. For an occasional artist, a smaller pack may be sufficient.

How do I get the clearest possible outline during transfer?

The key lies in preparation: clean, disinfected, and completely dry skin, a thin and even layer of transfer solution, firm and even pressing without moving the sheet, then lifting the sheet in one smooth motion. Let the stencil dry completely before tattooing so the lines stay sharp.

How do I store the sheets so they don't deteriorate over time?

Store the pack horizontally, in a dry, cool, and dark space, protected from heat, humidity and direct light, preferably in the original packaging. Avoid keeping them near heat sources or chemicals, and only take out the sheets you need, resealing the pack.

Specifications: Freehand – ultimate control with hand drawn stencils Not compatible with thermal or fax style printers Made in USA Price per one box of 200 sheets The 200-sheet pack of A4 Spirit Carbon Transfer Sheets for freehand use is the maximum volume professional package for tattoo studios that prioritize high-contrast transfers through the freehand method. With 200 sheets from the same Repro FX production batch, this pack covers an active studio's needs for 4-8 months, offering substantial per-unit savings compared to individual or smaller pack purchases. Each sheet in the pack uses the same activated carbon technology as the individual variant — deep black-violet pigment with superior intensity, excellent visibility on all skin types, and bold line reproduction capability that defines traditional, neo-traditional, and blackwork styles. Each sheet's multi-layer system includes the semi-transparent tracing sheet, the active carbon layer with dense pigment, and the protective backing sheet. The 200-sheet pack is the preferred format for studios with large artist teams (3-5+ artists), studios specializing in styles requiring strong outlines, and studios frequently participating in tattoo conventions where sheet consumption is intense. The bulk packaging includes anti-transfer separators between groups of sheets, preventing accidental pigment activation during long-term storage. Spirit Carbon pigment is dermatologically tested, non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and meets all European safety standards for skin-contact products. The universal A4 size guarantees compatibility with any design and workflow. A strategic investment for any studio optimizing operational costs without quality compromises.
