Guide & full description

Complete guide: Unistar Skin Care Tattoo Film 12.5x12.5cm 5 Pieces

The Unistar Skin Care healing film is a thin adhesive dressing, a "second skin" type, which is applied directly onto the fresh tattoo and creates a moist, protected environment during the first - most critical - stage of healing. The layer is waterproof on the outside but permeable to oxygen, forms an antimicrobial barrier against contaminants, and prevents scab formation. The set contains 5 individual pre-cut pieces of 12.5 × 12.5 cm, elastic and stretchable, thus suitable for any body area. It is useful both for artists who wrap the tattoo at the end of the session and for clients continuing aftercare at home.

How to use

  1. Carefully wash the fresh tattoo with a gentle cleansing foam (the manufacturer recommends InkTrox Ice Water foam) and let the skin dry completely, about 10 minutes.
  2. Put on gloves before application to maintain the cleanest conditions possible.
  3. Turn the film so that the green grid is facing downward; on top you will find the protective paper, which has a slit.
  4. Peel off the smaller piece of paper, position the film on the desired area, then remove the rest of the paper and gently press the entire adhesive film onto the skin.
  5. Stretch the film well under your fingers until, at the orange arrows, the outer layer begins to separate.
  6. Pull the loose pieces at the orange lines and remove the outer layer - only the actual dressing part remains on the skin.
  7. Make sure the film extends a few centimeters beyond the tattoo all around, so that the adhesive has sufficient contact with the untattooed skin.
  8. Leave the dressing on the skin as per the artist's recommendation - it can stay on for several days - then remove it slowly, pulling parallel to the skin, ideally under warm water.

Tips from us

  • Apply the film only on completely dry skin - adhesion directly depends on it; rushing this step is the most common reason the film detaches prematurely.
  • For tattoos larger than one 12.5 × 12.5 cm piece, overlap two or more films with the edges overlapping, so that no areas remain uncovered.
  • It is normal for a little fluid (exudate) to collect under the film in the first hours - it's part of healing in a moist environment; if the fluid leaks at the edges or the film detaches, replace it with a new piece on clean, dry skin.
  • Avoid stretching the film excessively when applying to areas that flex a lot (joints) - too much tension can lead to detachment or skin irritation.
  • Keep unused pieces in the packaging, clean and dry, until the next change.
  • At the end, remove the film slowly, parallel to the skin, not jerking perpendicularly - this protects the freshly tattooed skin.
Warning: Work with gloves and only on pre-cleaned skin - the film is applied on a fresh wound, and hygiene is essential. Each piece is a single-use dressing: do not reuse a peeled-off film. Do not apply over skin showing signs of infection or severe irritation. If intense redness, severe itching, stinging, or rash occurs after application, remove the film and seek advice from your artist or a doctor. The product is for external use only.

Frequently asked questions

How long can I leave the film on the tattoo?

A major advantage of this type of dressing is that it can stay on the skin for several days, unlike classic plastic wrap, which needs to be changed often. The exact duration is determined by your artist based on the tattoo and skin - follow his recommendation. If in the meantime the film detaches or the accumulated fluid leaks at the edges, replace it with a new piece under clean conditions.

Can I shower with the film applied?

Yes - the film provides waterproofing on the outside, so a normal shower is not a problem. However, avoid prolonged soaking (bath, pool, sauna), which can weaken the adhesive and, moreover, is not recommended on a fresh tattoo anyway. After showering, gently pat the area with a clean towel, without rubbing the edges of the film.

Is it normal for fluid to collect under the film?

Yes, in the first days it is normal for a mixture of plasma and excess pigment to appear under the film - this is exactly the principle of healing in a moist environment, which prevents scab formation. Do not puncture or peel off the film just for this reason. Intervene only if the fluid is very abundant and leaks at the edges: then remove the film, clean and dry the area, and apply a new piece.

How do I remove the film without affecting the tattoo?

Remove it slowly, pulling from a corner parallel to the skin, not perpendicular. It is easiest under warm water in the shower - the water relaxes the adhesive and removal becomes gentler. After removal, wash the tattoo with a gentle cleanser and continue the aftercare recommended by your artist.

Are 5 pieces of 12.5 × 12.5 cm enough for my tattoo?

It depends on the size of the tattoo. For a small or medium tattoo, one piece may be enough for one application, and the rest remain spare for changes. For larger tattoos, you overlap multiple pieces with overlapping edges - in which case consumption increases. Also note that the film must extend a few centimeters onto the untattooed skin around the tattoo, so calculate the surface area with this margin included.

Can I reuse a piece that has come off?

No. The film is a sterile single-use dressing applied to an open wound - once peeled off, the adhesive and protective barrier are compromised, and the risk of contamination increases. Discard the used piece and apply a new one, with gloves, on clean and dry skin.

Product description

UNISTAR SKIN CARE TATTOO FILM - Your "second skin" This is a thin bandage in the form of an adhesive film, which is often referred to as a second skin. It is applied to a fresh tattoo. Tattoo film forms a thin, protective layer. It is very comfortable to use - it is virtually undetectable. Thanks to its elasticity and stretchability, it can be safely placed anywhere on the body. Its great advantage is that it can be left on the skin for up to several days! How does Unistar Skin Care Tattoo Film work? Revolution in tattoo healing Tattoo film provides a moist environment during healing and creates a unique film dressing. It is indispensable in that first, most critical stage of tattoo healing - right after the tattoo is applied. It protects the new tattoo from accidental abrasions and provides waterproofing on the outside. It forms an antimicrobial coating that prevents pathogens and external contaminants from getting into the wound. It is permeable and allows oxygen to be brought to the skin. Allows excess moisture to evaporate. It prevents the formation of scabs and significantly reduces the risk of infection. The tattoo dressing protects against external irritants, such as the touch of cloth from clothing. How to use Unistar Skin Care tattoo film? Carefully wash the fresh tattoo with InkTrox Ice Water foam. Allow it to dry completely for about 10 minutes. After this time you can proceed to apply the previously prepared dressings to the tattoo. First, turn the film over so that the green grid is facing downwards. You will find the paper on top and one incision on it. Peel off the smaller piece of paper from the foil. Then apply it to where you will want the foil to be. It will be easier for you to remove the rest of the paper, and then press the entire sticky film carefully against your body. Spread the foil under your fingers very well until you see that at the point of the orange arrows the foil separates. Pull on the loose pieces at the orange lines and remove the outer layer. This way only the actual part of the bandage remains, which protects the fresh tattoo properly. Remember to keep a few centimetres of space between you and the tattoo when applying the film, so that the film has plenty of contact with the non-tattooed skin. Do all this with gloves on to maintain all sterility conditions. Dimensions: 12.5 cm x 12.5 cm Quantity: 5 pieces Format: individual pre-cut pieces
