Complete guide: Unistar Skin Care Tattoo Film Roll 15cm x 10m

Unistar Skin Care healing film is a transparent self-adhesive dressing, known as "second skin," applied to a fresh tattoo immediately after the session. It creates a moist healing environment, protects the work from clothing friction and external contaminants, and can stay on the skin for several days. The roll format of 15 cm width and 10 m length is designed for studios and artists who want to cut exactly the necessary size for each tattoo without waste.

How to use

  1. Put on gloves and gently wash the fresh tattoo—the manufacturer recommends InkTrox Ice Water foam or a mild tattoo cleansing solution.
  2. Allow the skin to dry completely, about 10 minutes, before application.
  3. Cut a piece from the roll large enough for the film to extend a few centimeters beyond the tattoo on all sides, so the adhesive adheres to un-tattooed skin.
  4. Turn the film with the green grid facing down; on top you will find the protective paper with a cut—first peel off the smaller piece of paper.
  5. Position the film over the desired area, then gradually remove the rest of the paper and gently press the entire adhesive surface onto the body.
  6. Smooth the film under your fingers until, at the orange arrows, the outer layer begins to separate.
  7. Pull the free ends at the orange lines and remove the outer layer—only the film dressing itself remains on the skin.
  8. Leave the film on the skin as recommended by your artist; when removing, peel it off slowly, ideally under a stream of warm water, pulling it back over itself, not perpendicular to the skin.

Tips from us

  • Cut the film with clean, disinfected scissors before touching the tattooed area—prepare the pieces before application.
  • On mobile areas (elbows, knees, joints), use several slightly overlapping pieces instead of one large piece—they conform better and peel off less easily with movement.
  • It is normal for a little fluid to accumulate under the film in the first hours; if a lot accumulates or the film starts to peel at the edges, remove it, clean the tattoo, and apply a new piece.
  • Do not stretch the film excessively during application—too much tension on the skin can cause irritation along the adhesive edge.
  • The roll format is economical for the studio: you cut exactly what you need for each client, from small tattoos to large pieces.
  • Store the roll in a clean, dry place, away from heat and direct sunlight, to keep the adhesive effective.
Warning: Apply the film only with gloves, on clean and completely dry skin, to maintain conditions as close to sterility as possible. Do not apply the film to irritated or damaged skin outside the tattoo. If intense redness, severe itching, pain, or signs of adhesive reaction occur, remove the film and seek advice from your tattoo artist or a doctor. The film reduces the risk of contamination but does not replace hygiene rules during the healing period.

Frequently asked questions

How long can I leave the film on the tattoo?

A major advantage of this type of dressing is that it can stay on the skin for several days, unlike classic plastic wrap that needs frequent changing. The exact duration depends on the tattoo and how much fluid accumulates under the film, so follow your artist's instructions. If the film peels off or fluid seeps out at the edges, replace it earlier, after careful cleaning.

Can I shower with the film applied?

Yes, the exterior of the film is waterproof, so a normal shower is not a problem. However, avoid prolonged soaking—long baths, pools, saunas—because water and excessive heat can weaken the adhesive and compromise the protection of the fresh tattoo.

Is it normal to see fluid collected under the film?

Yes, in the first stage of healing the skin naturally releases fluid, and the film dressing maintains a moist environment precisely for this purpose—this is how it prevents scab formation. The film is permeable: it allows oxygen to reach the skin and enables excess moisture to evaporate. If, however, a lot of fluid accumulates or it leaks at the edges, remove the film, wash the tattoo, and apply a new one.

How do I remove the film without irritating the skin or tattoo?

Peel it off slowly, ideally under a stream of warm water in the shower, pulling the film back over itself, almost parallel to the skin—do not yank it perpendicularly. Warm water softens the adhesive and makes removal much gentler. After removal, wash the tattoo with a mild solution and continue the aftercare routine recommended by your artist.

Who is the 15 cm x 10 m roll format suitable for?

The roll is the practical choice for studios and artists: you cut exactly the size needed for each job, from a small tattoo to a large piece, without depending on pre-cut sizes. The 15 cm width comfortably covers most tattoos, and for wider areas you can overlap two strips. For a client who just wants one piece for their own tattoo, a pre-cut film may be enough—the roll pays off with frequent use.

Can I use the film if I have sensitive skin to bandages or adhesives?

If you know you have had reactions to bandages or adhesive dressings, discuss it with your artist before using it on a fresh tattoo. At any sign of a reaction—intense redness beyond the tattooed area, severe itching, burning—remove the film and revert to the healing method recommended by your artist, and if symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

Product description

UNISTAR SKIN CARE TATTOO FILM - Your "second skin" This is a thin bandage in the form of an adhesive film, which is often referred to as a second skin. It is applied to a fresh tattoo. Tattoo film forms a thin, protective layer. It is very comfortable to use - it is virtually undetectable. Thanks to its elasticity and stretchability, it can be safely placed anywhere on the body. Its great advantage is that it can be left on the skin for up to several days! How does Unistar Skin Care Tattoo Film work? Revolution in tattoo healing Tattoo film provides a moist environment during healing and creates a unique film dressing. It is indispensable in that first, most critical stage of tattoo healing - right after the tattoo is applied. It protects the new tattoo from accidental abrasions and provides waterproofing on the outside. It forms an antimicrobial coating that prevents pathogens and external contaminants from getting into the wound. It is permeable and allows oxygen to be brought to the skin. Allows excess moisture to evaporate. It prevents the formation of scabs and significantly reduces the risk of infection. The tattoo dressing protects against external irritants, such as the touch of cloth from clothing. How to use Unistar Skin Care tattoo film? Carefully wash the fresh tattoo with InkTrox Ice Water foam. Allow it to dry completely for about 10 minutes. After this time you can proceed to apply the previously prepared dressings to the tattoo. First, turn the film over so that the green grid is facing downwards. You will find the paper on top and one incision on it. Peel off the smaller piece of paper from the foil. Then apply it to where you will want the foil to be. It will be easier for you to remove the rest of the paper, and then press the entire sticky film carefully against your body. Spread the foil under your fingers very well until you see that at the point of the orange arrows the foil separates. Pull on the loose pieces at the orange lines and remove the outer layer. This way only the actual part of the bandage remains, which protects the fresh tattoo properly. Remember to keep a few centimetres of space between you and the tattoo when applying the film, so that the film has plenty of contact with the non-tattooed skin. Do all this with gloves on to maintain all sterility conditions. Width: 15 cm Length: 10 m Format: roll
