Guide & full description

Complete guide: Cartridge needles Cheyenne Capillary LINER (RL)

Cheyenne Capillary cartridges are liner (RL) needles designed for outlining and lining, suitable for artists from beginners to daily professionals. The difference from conventional cartridges lies in the capillary reservoir inside the tip, which holds up to 10 times more ink and distributes it evenly across all individual needles. They are single-use, sterile-packaged, made from medical-grade stainless steel (ISO 13485), with each needle passing microscopic quality control. The displayed price is per piece.

How to use

  1. Check the integrity of the sterile packaging before opening — a damaged or unsealed blister means the needle is no longer sterile and must not be used.
  2. Quickly identify the configuration by the colored cap on the bottom of the cartridge and the RL notation on the packaging, to ensure you have the right grouping for the desired line.
  3. Prepare the work station: new gloves, protective film on the machine and grip, disinfected work surface covered with a disposable field.
  4. Remove the cartridge from the packaging without touching the tip and mount it in your cartridge-compatible machine, securing it firmly according to the machine's system.
  5. Adjust the needle projection (visible tip depth) according to your lining technique and test the operation before touching the skin.
  6. Dip the tip into the ink cup; thanks to the capillary reservoir, the cartridge absorbs more ink, so you can draw longer lines between dips with a constant flow.
  7. Work the outlines normally — the patented safety membrane prevents blood and ink from entering the grip, but protective barriers remain mandatory.
  8. At the end, remove the cartridge and immediately dispose of it in a dedicated sharps container; disinfect the machine and grip according to your hygiene procedure.

Tips from us

  • Choose the RL configuration based on the desired line thickness: small groupings for fine details, larger groupings for visible outlines — the colored caps help you avoid mixing them up during the session.
  • Even though the capillary reservoir holds more ink and reduces the number of dips, periodically clean the tip of pigment residue and fluids during work with a disposable wipe.
  • Never use a cartridge with a swollen, punctured, or expired packaging — sterility is no longer guaranteed.
  • Store cartridges in their original packaging in a dry, clean place, away from moisture and sources of contamination.
  • Even ink distribution across all needles means fewer repeated passes over the same area — let the needle work, do not insist unnecessarily, to reduce skin trauma.
  • If you are a beginner, practice first on synthetic skin to calibrate your speed and working pressure with the constant flow of these cartridges.
Warning: Single-use product: do not reuse or attempt to sterilize a used cartridge by any method. Open the sterile packaging only at the time of use and only with gloves. The safety membrane (sealed according to European standard EN 17169) prevents blood and ink from entering the grip, but does not replace basic hygiene: protective film on the machine and grip, gloves changed as needed, and complete disinfection of the station after each client. Used cartridges must be disposed of exclusively in sharps containers, never in household waste.

Frequently asked questions

What does "RL" mean and what are these cartridges used for?

RL stands for "Round Liner" — the needles are grouped in a tight round formation at the tip, specifically for lining and outlining. It is the standard configuration for linework: tattoo outlines, details, and fine lines. For shading or filling areas, other configurations (e.g., shader or magnum) are used, so choose RL when your goal is a clean line.

How do Capillary cartridges differ from regular cartridges?

The main difference is the capillary reservoir inside the tip: these cartridges hold approximately 10 times more ink than conventional cartridges and distribute it evenly across all individual needles. Essentially, you dip the tip in ink less often, the flow remains constant, and work areas are covered quickly and reliably — meaning fewer repeated passes and less trauma to the client's skin. Additionally, the improved needle guidance offers greater precision when lining.

Do they fit my tattoo machine?

Cheyenne cartridges use the cartridge format established by this manufacturer, widely used on pen-style machines. If your machine accepts cartridges compatible with the Cheyenne system, these fit directly. Check your machine's specifications for the type of cartridges it accepts before ordering — and if you have any doubts, ask us and we'll confirm.

Can I reuse a cartridge if I only used it for a few minutes or only on synthetic skin?

No. Cartridges are single-use products, sterile-packaged, and once removed from the packaging and used — even briefly, even on synthetic skin — they cannot be safely re-sterilized. Reuse poses a risk of cross-contamination. A used cartridge must be disposed of in a sharps container, and a new, sealed one must be opened for the next client.

What is the role of the safety membrane in the cartridge?

The patented membrane inside the cartridge prevents blood and ink from traveling from the tip back into the grip and machine, and its sealing meets the requirements of European standard EN 17169. It is an important layer of protection against cross-contamination, but it does not eliminate the need for standard barriers: protective film on the machine and grip, and disinfecting the station after each client remain mandatory.

How can I quickly tell which needle configuration I have in hand?

Each cartridge has a colored cap on the bottom, which indicates the needle configuration — allowing you to quickly identify the right grouping even during a session without reading the label every time. The exact configuration is also noted on the packaging, so check both before mounting, especially if you are working with multiple types of cartridges on the same station.

Product description

Cartridge needles Cheyenne Capillary needles are revolutionary because they retain 10 times more cough than those conventional cartridges. They have an improved needle guidance that allows much greater precision. Inside the tip of the cartridges there is a capillary with a reservoir, therefore these cartridges absorb more cough. Cheyenne Capillary needles ensure uniform distribution of the cough on all individual needles, even in large needle configurations such as the magnum ones. As a result, the work surfaces are filled constantly, reliably and above all quickly, which means less trauma for the client's skin. The needles are 100% passed through microscopic quality control. In the lower part of the needle, they have colored caps, for easier identification of the needle configuration. The needles have a patented safety membrane that prevents blood and cough from entering the handle. The sealing of the membrane complies with the requirements of the European standard EN 17169Cheyenne Capillary are needles manufactured according to medical standards (ISO 13485)Material: Stainless steel Single-use product, sterile packaged The price is per piece Cheyenne Capillary LINER (RL) cartridge needles represent the cutting edge of liner cartridge technology, developed by Cheyenne — the undisputed world leader in premium tattoo equipment from Berlin, Germany. The Capillary line introduces a revolutionary capillary-action ink feeding system: instead of the traditional membrane relying on pressure, Capillary uses natural capillary forces to draw ink toward the needle tips, resulting in ultra-consistent and predictable flow. This system eliminates the classic problems of ink starvation (too little ink) or flooding (too much ink), offering unprecedented control over pigment deposition. Needles are manufactured from premium surgical steel with microscope-level polishing, with taper specifically optimized for lining — sharp enough for effortless penetration yet durable enough for extended outlining sessions. Each needle grouping is individually inspected to guarantee perfect concentricity — critical for split-free lines. Available from 1RL (single, for micro details and whip lines) through 9RL (medium outlines). Compatible with all Cheyenne machines (Sol Nova, Sol Luna, HAWK Spirit/Thunder) and most universal pen-style machines. Compared to Kwadron RL, Cheyenne Capillary offers superior ink flow but at a premium price. Against Big Wasp X RL, Capillary is in a different class of consistency and precision. Gamma sterilization, CE compliant, made in Germany. Box of 20 cartridges. Frequently Asked Questions
